  1. Yeah I hear ya there... And while I didn't have the phone book sync issue like you did, my system got locked up and my dealer basically bitched me out about the issues that they see with customers updating thier SYNC system. They informed me after they fixed my SYNC (not being able to use my phone and iPod accuratley) that they can update pieces of the SYNC system that customers can not. While the only issue that I presently have is with the VHR, I am very bent on even trying to consume this now. SYNC since they have done thier updat has been F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C (knock on wood ).... So I'm not going to take a minor update (.1 version) if SYNCMYRIDE can't even explain it better than updated TDI informaiton... Since TDI doesn't apply to me... I'll just wait for my next service appointment, and have them include this in the service visit to evaluate why SYNC and VHR wants to consistantly resend data. Or make a specialized visit if that's how they want to proceed.
  2. Hello, Just wondering if anyone has taken the leap of faith to SYNC version 3.1... Any good news or items to report? Also have they fixed the bug with the VHR and the consistent request to submit them back to back? I had to shut mine off because the system just wasnt' recognizing it. Additionally anthing else that's of a benefit? I can't use the TDI, due to the fact I have a integrated NAVI system. But again feedback items are apprecaited! Thanks!
  3. Well went back to the garage and showed them what was happening... They erased my SYNC and reinstalled it... Additionally noting tht they updated 1 section of the software which we as consumers can not.. As of right now, SYNC is 100% funcitonal again and all is well! Thank God... I hope it doesn't return but atleast the technicians seen what is happening incase it continues to happen.. Though it was an interesting find about the SYNC upgrade and how my 3.0 upgrade was indeed a partial update!
  4. So Here's my notes... On 8/11 I had SYNC lockup hard... and here was my post to the SYNC forums on that day: I scheduled the car for a garage visit and here are my outcomes as equally posted on that forum group Finally I have talked with the folks on SYNCMYRIDE.com, and according to them they still hold true to the fact that while the iPod should not be an issue... The LARGER issue at hand relates to y SYNC 3.0 firmware update... They still state that 3.0 is for non NAVI cars, and that 2.0 should remain on cars with NAVIGATION, even though the website states thier's an update... Anyone else have any thoughts about this... I'm really feeling irritated to say the least with ford regarding the SYNC technology and software in a vehicle... Especially with so many versions roaming around out there!
  5. In order to give a build date they need to have the parts on hand. Maybe they are presently short, and thus the build date extended due to the carrier who makes those pieces. (i.e. Front Grill, Steering wheel covers, or such..) Sorry to hear your wait has become so extended!
  6. We all did, but nothing changed that... Besides mine got delayed almost a week by the delivery truck! So needless to say I was in the same boat as you! Just be patinet, as you'll be glad you did!
  7. Very interesting, based on your post I did check my Metalic Blue Sport package, and all looks to be painted well... It's definately an interesting find and news.... Wonder if its a model series or what that the bottoms aren't getting painted.. There's got to be a series, track, or something that is missing the paint.. Thinking that the sport has so many unique characteristics, modling and whatnot I doubt they would manufactur it on the same line as SEL's, etc... I'm sure that ford will be listing the recall on the exact models soon if that is indeed the case... Hope all turns out well for you!
  8. Hey mirak, I've been on these posts and read through a majority of that Fusion order status thread.... When I ordered my Fusion Sport, it took it a full 8 weeks for delivery, and was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks. But with the disclaimer that it could be as soon as 5 as well! So my dealer in March 2009 was accurate and recieved it early June 2009. However, on the flip side of my order time, others in that past have been recieving them much quicker as I believe that the Hermisillo plant is gaining ground and opting up it's production percentages... I think I've seen some indeed recieve them as soon as that 5 week window. The only way to find out is ask your delaer to keep you posted. My General Manager of the dealership I did business with would let me know when I asked every 2 weeks as thier insight program (like a fedex tracking program from ford directly) allows them to see where the car stands. However until ford completes the "ETA" date field they can only tell you where the vehicle is presently at in its production lifecycle. I hope that answers your question plus some! Good luck, I know its a challenge to wait for your new fusion, but you'll love it when it comes in! I absolutely LOVE my sport 250% more than I thought I would, and it does everything I could have imagined plus... Additionally you'll love your NAVI system! Keep us posted on your cycle as you go along! Always interesting to hear how others make out on thier progress as well!
  9. I understand that some of these items are not major components, but again in past experience with extended warranties the deductable is well worth the cost to me... A $100 deductible on the Fusion's item that needs to be covered, works it for the cost of the garage and cost of the part... I'm not going to argue this debate one bit... But all that I have to say is that for a individual who has 0 car repair knowledge, and doesn't work in the field these items are indeed beneficial... With my GM, I had a $0 deductible wihch of course meant I paid for more up front, was still worth it... All that I know is that I'm going into the garage, asking them to evaluate a identified problem, they evaluate it and I know that I will be paying more of a fixed cost and getting the service I need.... Additionally with my GM vehicle having heavy duty components (like the 2 front rotors, which replaced cost an easy $500 from a local parts store and family member installing them, meant that other items are definately expensive)... The radiator hoses (3 spots) which I identified also were covered, and I just drove away paying for my grease & oil... Since I purchased this with my vehicle, the cost of my loan having this integrated means that I can be assured that it is indeed covered and valueable services that my life is riding on are covered. Also since each vehicle's warranty costs are different due to the cost of the vehicle It doesn't make since to include that cost here.... Just knowing that my fusion sport is covered similarly to that of my older GM is all that I am greatful for. I just don't see why others dont' think extended warranties by the manufacturer are worth it and a loss of money! And thus thought I'd include that positive not for others who may be like me and reading these forums.
  10. my post had noting to do with the fusion... My old car as noted was a gm brand which had these services performed up until 100k when the warranty expired I was just staying extended warranties are good options... And can pay off.
  11. I don't really agree with that statement... I added on an extended warranty for my Fusion, as I had one on my last vehicle and it paid itself off... I got 2 free wheel bearings, radiator hoses, and various other critical items after the standard 36k fixed with minimal cost.. Overall the cost of the extended warranty was well exceeded than that of what I would have had to pay after market... And I didn't worry when it went into the shop knowing that these were covered. (Of course that was with GM). I'm hoping ford's coverage is equally well and that I can atleast know that for the life of my auto loan, the car is covered with a minimal deduction... (Granted this all hinges on the dealer writing it up accurately, and ensuring that they don't do anything shadey... But do trust my dealer and welcome the comfort of this warranty being on a vehicle with so many technical components! However each owner experiences thier own processes and all that I cand do is express my feelings on extended warranties to vehicles... However I do not buy extended warranties from stores like Best Buy or such because those are indeed money making ventures, as the retail store benefits and don't care about the consumer... With ford behind the warranty and ford's reputation to me as a consumer I can't say much otherwise. So I do have to say vehicle extended warranties are worth it.
  12. You said what??? the parts department can't look this part # up in the computerized data system? I find it hard to believe as they were able to tell me the wiper blade and other information when I inquired with them after recieving my 2010... Ford would not release a car to a vendor if they didn't have everything completely documetned... As there woudl be no way for the technicians to fix any vehicle data. I would definately re-ask again!
  13. That seems like a lot of work for a key... I don't think I'll be doing this anytime soon, as I'm happy with the standard ford key design... But glad you finally got it worked out and cut so that you can use it.... I do agree that the Ford keys do get to be a bit bulky, but atleast they've begun to integrate the door locks into the standard key. Just wish that they could use the two blank spots on the key for thier add-on's and integration components like the remote starter! Again glad to hear you worked out, and at this point I'll be a standard key owner until the american companies want to integrate this technology into thier keys....
  14. Though you can always order the wheels you prefer after through the dealership, but probably pay a pretty penny... Surprised you don't like the sport wheels, They're actually really sharp in person!
  15. Thanks for the correction bbf2530, I was guessing at the milage since I am not next to my vehicle's service guide at the moment... And just trying to help convey a explination in my above message to Mirak... Thanks for ensuring posts here are accurate! cheers...
