  1. Het Chukie,,,,,,,,,,,, Its been a few weeks............. Where is that Ford / Saline sign update????? Any news??
  2. No axe to grind chuckie?? How many profiles are you up to now??? 15 maybe 16 You are quite the fool on this board. Its so easy to identify you.... Heres what gives you away. 1) You complain about Saline 2) You complain about Sheldon 3) You complain about Sandusky 4) You are always getting screwed by the UAW 5) DTP is always so wrong on and on and on.......... Come on Chuckie get some new material......... I sometimes laugh at your stuff but lately its quite stale You are not fooling anyone
  3. Most of the youngins' on this board don't know their history and think this leveling date is something that should be changed every contract. You are right nvsked. Back then there really was no JSP or hierarchy of placement. The layoffs and rehiring was a monthly event for some. With people coming and going to different locations back in the late 70s and early 80s there was no "National Seniority" for purposes of taking your seniority with you to a new location. Every location had language in their local agreement on whether or not you brought your "plant seniority " with you on a transfer. Most locations you generated a new "plant seniority" date and most likely it was the day you walked in the door. The leveling date should never change. It served its purpose and made everyone equal on seniority over time. Now when you go plant to plant on job security moves you can take most of your seniority with you after 1984. God Bless the UAW
  4. When you find language in the agreement that says they cant work overtime while others are on tlo let us know.
  5. What part of "Temporary" do you not understand?? Just askin....
  6. Wow............ Only 2 locations left Sheldon and Saline. Any "Crystal Balls" on the sale of these 2 locations??? Before the contract?? What do you think Chuckie???
  7. rn4, Many of us have had enough of the Republicans. The Republicans showed their hand during the Auto Loans trying to take our wages way below the rate we now receive and strip our benefits to the bone. The Republicans even tried to strip our Retirees of their pension and the pbgc would only be responsible to pay 20 cents on the dollar. The Republicans blame the 2008 economic disaster on unions, like its our fault that Bush and the Republicans ran this once vibrant economy into the ground. Fast Forward to now. The Republicans are at it again (although it was always prevalent) wanting to take away bargaining rights, no contract and the right to strike. The war on working men and women including Unions is clear. The Republicans want Unions destroyed and drive our wages to 3rd world country status. Make no mistake the republicans want your wages even lower and unions gone, the only voice workers have to stop these atrocities. Many of us will never vote republican again while these attacks on workers continue.
  8. One not need to look any further than this wonderful interactive web site. http://www.aflcio.org/issues/legislativealert/votes/index.cfm?location=House&termyear=2010&statecode=MI&act=3&Go.x=14&Go.y=11 Check the voting records of Congress and Senate Worker issues are numbered at the top of the record. Click on the number to read the bill. It is quite clear the Democrats vote in favor of workers issues as we can see why the UAW endorses this party. Some Republicans like Mc Cotter must be recognized for crossing party lines on occasion. Thank you UAW for endorsing candidates that support labor and unions.
  9. Just in reading the news over the last 9 months it seems King may have gotten some support from the Korean Unions to put pressure on the Korean Automakers into creating a fair election period in the Southern Korean Plants. The Korean Unions are fairly strong and their wages are closely aligned with us. They actually have credible unions unlike those government ones that exist in Mexico and China. I think King is being tactical and will not organize until his plan can be achieved. I agree with you Len... It will be a battle. Our futures depend on organizing these transplants, otherwise our compensation will always be challenged. We are competitive now recognized by Congress and the Senate but 5 years from now, if King is unsuccessful we will be challenged again on wages. Without organizing these plants, they will continue to pull us down.
  10. Oh OK Chuck......... Like you have credibility around here........ Hey don't you have any "rumors" to post or at least some "negative innuendo"
  11. Ok Chuckie You have been so redundant lately, Just would like some new material..... Hey here's an idea........ Start posting something relevant or something that may be factual
  12. I have talked to co workers that voted for Snyder. They said.... "Why should I vote the way the UAW tells me"? " I vote the for who I want!" and "Snyder says he is not anti union" Well they are all crying now they want a recall. Members are starting to see the importance of electing leaders that support collective bargaining. The UAW investigates voting records of past labor friendly legislation and endorses those that vote in favor of labor legislation AFL CIO has a wonderful interactive site where you can see Congress and Senate voting records and in almost every event........... Republicans oppose workers rights. Now we know the rest of the story when the UAW gets us a paid day off to vote for labor friendly candidates me and my co workers are voting the UAW candidates. Snyder is a bad word around here... Most are upset they voted for him. Members are starting to "Get it" on the Republican agenda to take away the Union Representation of all workers public and private. We are next. Thank You UAW

  20. Jeff, Dont waste your time on DTPnick, DtpBody, dtp this or sanduskyman that. Chucky has turned this forum into a piece of poop. Just about every account since December 2010 is Chucky. I heard this or, the union said that, or my committee sucks, or Saline sucks, or rumor has it, or how to go on medical so you dont get a profit sharing check, or how to stay on medical during a strike, or how to make a medical claim to get out of work, or how to rat out union brothers..... etc, etc , etc... I only check out this site once in a while and each time I come back Chuckie is havining conversations with himself, post after post, thread after thread. No longer is this a good forum. Chuckie has invaded this forum that just spreads innuendo, half truths and lies. Or what he would call "rumors" Good job on the posts and the information you provide. Your understanding of the political structure is right on and your priorities on the 2011 contract is spot on............ Thanks for all of the facts......... Thanks, A Proud Member Lou
  21. The difference is $800 x 2,000,000 vehicles produced is 1.6 Billion dollars over a year in savings. With numbers like this I am thankful for the UAW keeping product in the USA
  22. I can attest if Obama didn’t steer GM and Chrysler through a structured bankruptcy there would be huge wage cuts and many UAW retirees’ pensions would be worth pennies on the dollar. If you read the book Overhauled everything was documented that Republicans wanted to abolish the union, cut wages down to right to work state levels, carve out the “Cadillac benefits” and sanitize all remaining contracts. The book also stated that the UAWs influence in the Democratic party steered the bankruptcies to become a “Union Friendly” bankruptcy as the Republicans wanted more pain to UAW members than what the Democrats’ would agree upon. With the new Republican Governors attack on Unions it’s only a matter of time before the Republicans get to private sector representation. Does anyone still believe the Republicans want us to prosper as a union? Any union member that supports these jack booted thugs gets what they deserve. Now I understand why the union is so political. Republicans and business want the only opposition connected to a fair days work for a fair days pay out of their way. Has anyone ever listed to Limbaugh of Fox news? They bang on unions as over paid, out of touch entities that have “entitlement” culture. They blame the whole Bush economic meltdown on unions. A mere 9% of the entire working population. Make no mistake…….. Republicans want our union gone as well as our $70 per hour jobs. Thank God for the UAW Lou
