  1. That was what was confusing. My order went in Nov. 11. I'm guessing my name, address was not tied to the order Pioneer did confirm it was a retail order.
  2. Now that lots of people are receiving their cars, are they getting Focus mugs? Never understood how that worked. A few people seemed to get them early on. Just wondering if those who did retail orders are getting the mugs now that they are/have taken delivery on their car.
  3. Pioneer, What's the latest on this one? 1FAHP3J20CL157990
  4. As a 2010 Fusion owner, with a Titanium on the way, your comment about the headlights is great. Very easy to overdrive the low beams in the Fusion, even at the legal Interstate speed limit. While I like the HIDs in my Focus SVT, I probably would not go away from the stocks in the Titanium. I do find it a little odd, with the various packages available on the 2012 Focus, that HIDs are not an option. When you're paying $28K, what's another few hundred?
  5. Pioneer, Any information on this one would be appreciated: 1FAHP3J20CL157990 Thanks.
  6. Good reply. I'm sure I've waited as long as anyone (Nov. 11) for my car, which is scheduled to be built tomorrow. One truth that I haven't seen spoken is that there are a lot of options out there, and we're all free to exercise them. If I wanted something other than a Focus, with the accessories I ordered, I would go QUIETLY to another brand and buy it.
  7. I stand corrected. Talked to my dealer today and he says cars from Detroit to his dealership go by rail to a "mixing yard," usually in Kentucky, and are loaded on trailers, with other makes, for truck delivery to this area.
  8. Located in Eastern Tennessee. Past experience with ordering cars that are built in Michigan is that they come down I-75 by truck - only about an 8-hour trip. Not aware of any rail station closer than Atlanta were cars could be off-loaded and then "trucked." But, things could have changed....
  9. Ordered Nov. 10, 2010. Build date tomorrow - May 19, 2011. ETA: who knows? Reason for delay: parts availability? dealer priority? scheduling process? Who knows? Saw a post a few minutes ago about rail shipping and the problems therein. Agree that when you're dealing with the railroads, that presents another dimension..... Mine should come by truck but, again, who knows?
  10. One of my biggest concerns about the Focus is the headlights - hoping they're much better than my 2010 Fusion. This doesn't give me a lot of hope.... The Fusion low beams are the auto-version of CFLs. (And, yes, they are aligned correctly.)
  11. This probably isn't what you want to hear but... Ordered in early November. Have a VIN but no build date. Thinking my window sticker, with a build date will show up next week. I'm anxious to get the car but on the other hand, I'm glad some of the problems with the early builds have been fixed - or at least I hope they've been fixed.
  12. When did this latest "hold" go into effect? Lots of people have been receiving their cars in the last few days.
  13. Pioneer, Did you see my PM concerning my dealer number & incorrect VIN? Fusion37
  14. Yes, I x'ed out the last three numbers. Not sure about the X in the 9th place.
  15. o That must be the case. My order was submitted the first or second week the bank opened - late October or first week of November. Just got a VIN number about 10 days ago. Still no window sticker has shown up. On that topic, does anything look wrong with this VIN - 1FAHP3J2XCL157xxx And, what day are cars scheduled?
  16. I saw and sat in my first Titanium today too. Blue candy hatch with black leather & about every option except the winter & auto parking packages. Wow! What a car. Adjusted the seat for my driving position then got in the back seat. Seems to be plenty of room for anyone riding behind me. Awaiting the arrival of my Ingot Silver sedan.....
  17. Got my VIN but not a build date on Monday. When should I see my window sticker in ETIS or the other search sites?
  18. I'm kind of in the same situation with a small town dealer. Ordered a Titanium with every option except two-tone seats the first week the order bank opened. My approach with this dealer - from which my family has bought Fords for more than 60 years - is they're not going raise false hopes by saying "it's scheduled on April 25, etc." or call when they receive a VIN etc." Rather, the manager will probably call when there is confirmation that the car is in transit. That's how it worked on the last car I ordered. As we know, there have been "holds" for MFT, maybe others. When the car is on its way, I expect a call. At play here with this dealer: Family history of great service, I get a fair trade-in price, I get the car at about 3 to 4 percent over the dealer's cost, pay no second sticker & have no hassles whatsoever. Secondly, I'm wondering if the cars that are highly optioned, as seems to be the case with the Titanium, are late in the schedule, so as to work out problems as the lines "build up" the option list.
  19. Is there a number or anything else on the Order Confirmation form that would be helpful in finding/tracking information about your order? Also, does anyone's Order Confirmation have their name & address on it?
  20. I did a brief test drive of an SE hatch. Didn't have PowerShift so I didn't pay much attention to the transmission. Of course, I didn't hit it hard but my first impression of the power was favorable. The engine noise, however, was a little louder than I anticipated, having read all the reviews and comments here and elsewhere. Noise not unpleasant but I did notice it right off. Overall, my lasting impression was how difficult it's going to be to learn all the functions of MFT when it's added to what's already on the wheel of the SE! I ordered a Titanium sedan in October. Dealer said he was on the phone earlier with the regional rep and thinks he'll get a build date next week.
  21. For those who have taken delivery or driven a 2012 Focus at night, how are the headlights? I have a Focus on order & am really interested in the lights, particularly low beams. A late night, 200-mile interstate drive last week in my Fusion Sport (slightly above the speed limit) reinforced how poor the low beams are. No other complaints about the Fusion, but the headlights are the worse I've experienced since cars went away from the round sealed beams. Really hoping that the new Focus is much improved.
  22. Did a walk-around of an Ingot Silver SEL sedan yesterday - same color combo as the Titanium I have on order. I was impressed. I'd previously seen an S and it looked, well, a little plain. Not so with the SEL. Seemed to have about every option except MFT. A couple that appeared to be in their 60s bought the car just hours after it hit the ground. A couple of dealers have told me they've had as much interest in the Focus from seniors as from younger people. Still no build date or VIN on my car - ordered the first week the bank opened. Anxious, but I want it as defect-free as possible, so I'll gladly wait.
  23. First off, I have had a Titanium sedan with all options except the two-color seat option on order since the first week the order bank opened. I'm an old guy who has driven Fords for longer than probably most readers of this board have been alive. I've go full confidence in the new Focus. I currently drive a 2010 Fusion Sport and given all the cars I've owned,of many different brands, I'd be hard pressed to say I've had a better one that the Fusion. That said, I had a 2006 MazdaSpeed 6, which I figured at the time was a test bed for something yet to come; it was a turbo (EconBoost?) with direct injection. Ran like stink, fun to drive, etc. At about 12K miles, it started to smoke like a steam engine. I had all my records and I guess, given my age, the Mazda dealer didn't think I'd abused the car. Long story short, they put a complete new engine in the car. I soon traded it for a Mazda 3, which BTW was a great car. Bottom line: I think that car was test of the EcoBoost & DI. After my experience, apparently the MazdaSpeed 6 problems were resolved. I think any potential problems with the 2012 Focus have been largely resolved. I'm looking forward to getting a build date on my Titanium.
