  1. "Acceptable" That's your first problem. I am with you on how embarassing some of the comments are but I don't want you determining what is "acceptable" and what is "bashing". Let it go. People are going to think what they want anyway. It's probably healthy for some of the angry ones to vent on here. That way, they will leave us alone on the floor. quote name='cg3de' date='03 March 2010 - 09:51 PM' timestamp='1267671103' post='600322'] After reading some of the things being said on our forum ,and talking with one of the moderators here at blue oval news it was disscussed that we have a need for some mods to do watch this site.a couple of people could do this job, for the last five days i have waited for someone to step up ,as i stated in my last reply , i am willing to try to keep the employee forum a little cleaner and less abusive to all, the moderator (nick) said they would have no problem with a couple of people taking the employee forum over as mods, since they really don't cover this forum . so if anybody has any input on this subject ,please reply .if someone would like to do this or has a problem with me being one of the mods, please reply all i'm trying to do is keep this site acceptable for everyone to give their opinions without getting slammed ,remember everyone is not going to have the same opinion , there are a lot of people that would probably give their ideas on the subject of the day if this site wasn't so brutal and vulgar. i've had family and friends read some of these posts with shock and dismay,i don't think this is helping our image with the general public CG3DE
  2. I agree with you, it boggles my mind also. When I first hired in, I had to hear the union propaganda and the "big brother" has to take care of us mentality. But, I was making $12 an hour so I figured whatever. Then I started talking to people who believed in personal responsibility, that we are not owed things just because, and if you want to go somewhere in life, you have to work for it. It was a relief to know that there was some folks that wern't hired in when they were living with momma and went from one tit to the other.
  3. Where is that Dale Weinhart character (or whatever the pretenders name is) who claimed that there would be no more buyouts. Now I know for sure that he is no more than 5'6" tall.
  4. I hope we get this back.
  5. Is there any talk about buyouts? Give me something to hope about. Near future or contract time?
  6. You need to relax and not let him get the best of you. Just do your job. You don't have to be friends with the guy. Geesh! Deep breaths.
  7. Yeah! Let's get all of our weapons together! Let's tell them that we can't be replaced! Uhhhhh, well maybe not that one Let's tell them that there aren't enough people to take our place! Uhhhhh, maybe not this one Let's tell them that we deserve all we get based on.......Uhhhh, maybe not this one I don't know but let's be ready. Rah, Rah, Rah!!
  8. OK my real name is TheEagle. Not the one out of the five you're thinking but possibly one of the other four.
  9. You have to understand the big picture, Ford will get what it wants, period. We have one valid argument: 1. We need our income and benefits to remain the same becasue we are comfortable there. Let's be honest, we can be replaced in 20 seconds for half the pay, and being a tradesman, I include myself in that category. Please hold the comments about not being a good tradesman, blah, blah, blah, I've been around and I've seen the best that Ford has and I've seen the best of the contractors and the best contractors would drop their tools in a minute and run to Ford for $20-$25 We have no right complaining about what CEO's make. If a person wants to make that much money, they have every right to start their own business or educate themselves so companies believe that you are worth all that money. Do you think Bill Ford sits around and salivates over how much he can pay a CEO and how much he can take from hourly. If it were up to him, he wouldn't want to pay anyone. So, he pays what he feels a position is worth. Collective bargaining is a great tool. I'm part of the UAW and proud. Negotiations are walking a fine line and I believe our leadership has our best interest in mind. We can vote this down, but mark my words, they will come after us with a vengeance. We need a positive public perception of us because they do buy the cars.
  10. I know I just joined today but have been scrolling through these posts for years. I know I'll be accused of being someone else because I want another yes vote. Not true but whatever. The reality is that if we don't work with the company, I'm not talking about giving away the farm, then we will be forced to accept what they give us. This is why we are represented by the UAW, they negotiate. There is give and take on both sides. The problem is that most people focus on what the take is and complain. Ford will get what it wants one way or another. We need to approach this as a team even though I hate saying that word. But, it sounds good for P.R. If we take the line in the sand approach, nobody will be sympathetic when they get what they wanted and more because they will claim how greedy we are. And we can cry all day long on this site but 95% of the population will agree with them.
