  1. Usually sell within 5 days on eBay motors over my minimum asking price.
  2. That's what I was thinking, but it says 2 year warranty on this kit when installed by dealership, no mention of miles. I may very well put it to the test. Will likely have 500k miles by the time the pickup is 3yrs old.
  3. At least the new "Fuel Contamination Kit" which is the pump, rails, and injectors comes with a 2 year warranty, so I should be good to go for the remaining ownership period I will use the truck. I typically sell mine outright and buy new every 3 years any. I really can't and haven't complained.
  4. Just thought I would follow up since everyone was so helpful with information. I called my dealership's Service Manager where I purchased the F450 and have had all maintenance completed. Explaining my situation and asked about the CLP & LVT score I had. He looked up my record say yes you have been in here every month and maintenance record is great. Says my LTV score with FORD was 98 out of a 99 possible. I asked him about getting any assistance and he said he was limited by the 160K miles cutoff as shown in the CLP document and couldn't help me with 227K miles even though it was only 16 months old. He recommended I call FORD directly and ask for consideration and help. I then called Ford Customer service number went through all the info and details, the lady confirmed my LTV score was98 and thanked me for being a loyal customer. I asked if they was anything Ford would consider to help reduce the cost of the $7600 repair. After being on hold while she contacted repairing dealership she came back and said there is nothing they could do. I asked if she would escalate this request for further consideration by a manager and she politely said no it won't help. So that's where I sit, I usually have excellent results being patient and polite but in this case it didn't help. Looks like parts are coming in today and tomorrow, hopefully be back on way home by Wednesday afternoon. Thanks again everyone who posted information about my questions.
  5. Heads Carolina's, trails California some where greener or somewhere warmer.
  6. LOL, I have no expectations. But it never hurts to ask. I have reached out to my local dealer whom I purchased the truck from, they have performed all preventative maintenance from day one, typically about $500 per month on average. I figured never hurts to ask, and I am not complaining no matter the outcome. I see far too many keyboard warriors get on forums with their 1st world problems griping about their ice cream is too cold and didn't get the color of sprinkles they wanted on it. I consider myself lucky to be able to afford nice trucks like these every 3 years or so. Many aren't that fortunate.
  7. Thanks for the reply and information. I agree with everything you said. I would never expect a no cost resolution. And fact is even if I had bought the 200k miles extended warranty I am even beyond that. I'm not one to expect anything but asking never hurts. After nearly a million miles in 3 Super Duty this is my first issue so no complaints from me.
  8. Long time forum member but rarely post. Have had great experiences with my 2011, 2015, and 2017 F450s with zero issues until now. I am hoping, no begging for some guidance and a little love from Ford customer service. I am from TN and 2 days ago whil crossing Wyoming with a 44ft 5th wheel RV in tow got a Reduced power mode message and engine died before I could even get stopped. Got towed back to Laramie WY where local dealer White University Ford could look at it. Dealership has been great, truly 5 star service for a stranger passing through. Long story short, as I feared my CP4 high pressure fuel pump is bad with metal shavings showing up. Good news is zero sign of contamination no rust on anything. Still need the full fuel contamination kit which alon is nearly $2800 plus other parts bringing that to $3500 ish. Although the pickup is only 16 months old it is out of standard factory warranty as I travel a lot being retired. So I'm sitting 2000 miles from home praying to get back on the road as soon as possible. If anyone can point me in the right direction to speak with someone at FORD who may consider being able to help relieve the pain of a likely $7000 repair bill I would be very grateful. Thanks for hearing me out. Sincerely, Robert
  9. Thanks for the info. I think my issue revolves around a three letter problem. E.P.A. I'll know more once I get some longer trips on it, towing I have only run six 450 mile runs one way from IL to TN and back. Overall I am happy as can be, tows like a beast that it is. The industry has come a long way in just the last 11 years.
  10. I am completely happy with how my 2015 F450 tows, in fact my only gripe on that truck is that my personal experience it uses 300% more DEF than my 2011 F350 did. I would easily go 8000 miles before having to fill my DEF tank on my F350 and with only 6400 miles on my F450 I have went through 15 gallons of DEF, driving / towing the same way. I would not hesitate to buy another one, no buyers remorse. And the heavy duty gear they put under the F450 over the F350 it is some impressive hardware for a "pickup truck". I have no concerns pulling my 44 ft. toyhauler, making my typical runs up and down I-75 I do notice this 2015 does not down shift out of 6th at 65MPH with my camper (towing up 3-4% grades) where my F350 would do it several times on the exact same route. The differentials are not the same 4:30 to 3:55 but besides that it really seems to pull stronger than the extra 40 HP over my 2011 and I had no problems or complaints about it how it towed it over 4 years and 80K miles.
  11. I had the loud howl / Hum etc. and after the dealership had it 3 days after I put 500 miles on it dissatisfied with the noise coming out of a $72K truck. the dealership remounted and balanced all the tires 2x saying it was "better" I got in it and a 65mph could still hear it just as I did taking it off the lot. That very same day one of the members on this forum said "check your automatic hubs" Sure enough the truck was delivered from the factory with the front hubs locked in manual and that was the cause of the noise, turned them to automatic no noise at all. Been very happy overall. I now have 6400 miles on it have went through just over 15 gal DEF fluid only towing about 3K of the 6400 miles. Typical 65-70 mph unloaded 13.5 - 14 mpg. Towing a 44" 20K (Cyclone 4200) toy hauler 7.3 mpg consistently at 65mph steady. other than using 300% of the DEF my 2011 F350 consumed I can live with the 2mpg less I get towing with the '15 F450 vs. my '11 F350.
  12. Looks like your truck was built on 11/26/14 according to your window sticker online. Link is here: http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=1FT8W3BT5FEC30364 It took them 30 days to deliver mine by Convoy as your window sticker indicates after being built and I live only 225 miles from KTP.
  13. Mine was built on 7/17/14 and got it on 8/19/14, was delivered the day before so that's 31 days. My dealer is 221 miles from the KTP or about 4 hours by truck and there was no railroad holdup involved. Hope you delivery from build date is faster than mine was.
  14. First you set your timer on the truck settings for remote start to 15 minutes. Once you start the vehicle using the app on you phone after 5 minutes you hit the start button again and the countdown timer will go from 10 minutes to 25 minutes for a total of 30 minutes. It is covered in the 52 page manual that goes with installing the parts probably could not read that in 3 minutes. My dealer would you pay you good money took 2 of his head scratching monkeys 4 hours to install mine and I had to explain the instructions to them when there was no active link in the PDF for a 2015 F450 I said go back to a 2014 F350 and try to click that link. Which that worked he said jeez I've been stuck on this over over 2 hrs. trying to figure it out. (Insanity repeating a failed process repeatedly expecting a different result) I let them install it as any accessory installed by dealer at time of purchase is covered under the 36 month warranty.
  15. Thanks guys, just got it back from adding a S/S grille guard / brush guard, roll-top bed cover, S/S rocker panels, hood shield, bed rug bed mat & tailgate mat. She is ready to roll! I think it came out pretty darn good.
  16. Thanks, just got it done with my grille guard, hood shield, S/S rocker panel covers, rolltop bed cover. Also put in BedRug bed mat & tailgate mat but didn't bother to take pics of those. Grill Guard / Brush guard is the Westin HDX in Stainless Steel ProMax Chrome hood shield ICI rocker panel kit RetraxPRO rolltop bed cover Came out pretty darn good I think :happy feet:
  17. I had my dealer order and install the Ford Remote Access kit and the required Vehicle Security System before I picked up my 2015 F450. In a nutshell it lets you lock, unlock, and remote start your truck from your smartphone running Android or the iPhone iOS. I was a little skeptical but having played with it is cool as heck. You can actually set it to remote start and run your vehicle for up to 30 minutes uninterrupted. (Think cold winter days covered in ice). Essentially if your vehicle and phone has a cell signal or WiFi signal it will unlock it from anywhere. I tried starting it while at work 70 miles away, wife said it started right up in about 10 seconds, could lock and unlock the doors, shut it off etc. Dealership never installed one before so they struggled with the technology but I was able to help them on the initial computer end and all went quickly after that. The service through SpinDance is $50 a year which I think would be a bargain if someone locked them selves out and you could unlock it most anywhere from most anywhere. This is also tied in to the security system can send text messages to your phone from break in / accident event with GPS location of vehicle which can be forwarded to authorities. I believe it works on all 2011 and newer SuperDuty pickups. My little review I give it a big thumb up Part #'s and pricing: Remote Access Part # DL3Z-19A390-B MSRP $385.71 Vehicle Security System Part # DL3Z-19A361-A MSRP $198.57
  18. That's exactly what my 2011 F350 averaged too 18 hwy and 14 in town. About 9-10 mpg towing a 17k 43' toyhauler. it had the 3:55 ratio. I did a 50 mile hwy. run @ 65 MPH in my 2015 F450 and it got 18 mpg as well, will know more this weekend got 500 mile trip will have a better idea of hwy. mileage then.
  19. Arrived yesterday afternoon and picked it up today! Thanks and as requested here is my pic
  20. That pic above reminds me of my 1991 F-150 we have come a long way.
  21. Mine just got dropped off at the dealer about 2 hours ago. 2015 F-450 Platinum Ordered 4/21/14 Built 7/17/14 Delivered 8/18/14 Will pick it up tomorrow after work, tomorrow will be a long day
  22. Can you please provide any update on my truck, can't believe it is sitting for 10 days on the transport only 2 hours from the dealer? Thank you. VIN 1FT8W4DTXFEB01166
