And you hate businesses. Got it. Let’s all move on.You would be wrong. I am a capitalist but, business needs the balance of a union to pay those that put the money in the coffers and Union needs to ensure that the products they produce for the business are desired and bought. It is a tightrope that both sides of a negotiations table need to walk so that both entities are successful.
Since you are the moderator, I will end the conversation here.

.... The Sierra Club was calling it the 'Ford Valdez' after the tanker that sunk.
This line jumped out at me...it didn't sink, it ran aground....She was repaired and sailed under several names until she was scrapped in 2012

I'm anti anything that hurts the American worker, consumer, and economy. Before you do defending unions, look at how a lot of people on this site who are unionized at Ford view their union leaders. I believe the guys last name is Faun? Yeah, the general consensus seems to be he's an absolute idiot putting everyone's job security at risk.
I'm for unions with fair demands, and who are considerate and rational. But it seems there's been a rising trend lately that if companies turn any sort of profit at all, then they're evil, and they need to keep raising their employees salaries until they aren't making money anymore. It's absurd.
Respectfully, it's not hard to understand where this leads. If unions keep demanding more and more from brands, they'll just relocate their factories elsewhere. That's why everyone is like "What the hell are you doing to the people in charge of the UAW" because they're either deliberately trying to sabotage workers careers, or they're too stupid to realize the consequences of their actions. Either way, it's not a good look for them.
Like I said...you don't like unions. Got it.

Till they wind up on the unemployment line...guess we will see how VW reacts to this-they already closed one plant in the US in the past 40 years.

They hurt the American consumer by driving up the cost of the product, and they hurt brands by dragging down profit margins.Unions are the HOA of the corporate world, they don't help anyone. Everyone understands why they were created, but believes they don't have as much of a reason to exist in modern day society.
Got it...you both are anti-union....good to know.

I was under the impression that they have serious issues with their energy producing market because they don't have anyone to take care of it and its output is shrinking.
Don't know of that, but Venezuela's state oil company owns CITGO

North American crude is mostly the light sweet, low sulphur type which is also very easy to refine.
The unfortunate part is that most of the refineries are set up to process the heavier less sweet crudeoil that’s normally imported from the Middle East.
We all hope for true oil independence but I fear it’s still a ways off…..
Don't forget Venezuela....their crude needs more refining due to it's higher sulfur content.

I have a 2016 f350 Lariat, platnium edition pickup with an automatic transmission. Randomly when I start it, the transmission will go from 1st right up to 5th before I move. Has anyone had this happen and can anyone tell me if it's a electronic or a mechanical problem?
.....annnnnnnd, what did the transmission shop and/or dealer say?

This!!
The "end to end" battery pack concept is why EV's are typically more than their ICE counterparts

Just a hunch, but my guess is the 6.7L Gas Cummins will crater similar to when GM diesel-fied the 350 Oldsmobile motor back in the late 70's, early 80's. It may be a good diesel, but it don't think it will translate to a good gas motor. Only my opinion.

I seriously considered a Crown as my next daily as I yearn to get back into a sedan, but at the end of the day, I just couldn't pull the trigger to buy a Toyota....I hope Ford (or Lincoln) will bring back a proper sedan.

You spelled "Teammates" wrong.
I was once a dedicated, valued teammate at Whirlpool Corp for 17 years; until they closed our state of the art, seven year old factory and moved out of state.
What happened to the plant? Sold? Demolished? Sorry to see stuff like this

Geez...2027??!?!? That is a damn shame to idle one of Fords best performing and high quality plants for 3 years....

Not to mention it's a direct response to one of the main criticism's EVs have. That they don't hold up well when exposed to a wide array of diverse conditions and terrains. This shows that EVs can handle anything a reasonable person is gonna throw at them. It's not exactly exciting news, but it's crucial to start to more actively push back against the misinformation on EVs if brands want to start selling more of them.
This kind of publicity is nothing new for Ford....

....This is ridiculous!! The Factory workers caused this issue because they wanted more money so I got a $90k lemon!! Then, Ford gives them what they want & I'm still stuck with THEIR subpar work!!
.....This is Ford Motor Company's fault PERIOD!!
.....Thanks for letting me vent!!
As always, it is sometimes good to vent - but you are blaming the workers for an issue that even you admit is FoMoCo's fault. I hope you get your situation rectified but no one would blame you if you went to the GMC dealership and gave them some biz.
