  1. I just posted this on another site in answer to someone looking for replacememt blades for a newer Escape, maybe someone can use the info. Ed After our recent snowstorm here in the northeast and dealing with frozen wiper blades. I went to Walmart and bought 2 Anco winter blades, after spending more then a few minutes trying to remove the blades from the Escape. I finally figured out that the tabs and the rounded end are all part of the blade and are removed as one piece after squezing the tabs, new fangled stuff. But there was not any adapter in the pkg. to fit the arms. Back to Walmart to return them. My store didn't have too many 20 in. blades. I went to Autozone and bought 2 Rain X Latitude blades, supposedly good for rain, sleet and snow, time will tell. They look good and they did have the correct adapter to fit the Escape arm, I read the instructions a couple of times to figure out how to change from the adapter on the blade to the Escape adapter. The 2nd one took 2 minutes after spending considerable time much more then 2 minutes on the 1st one. Happy Holidays, Ed
  2. Hi All, , I posted this on another site. I didn't find any others with the same problem, maybe someone here ? Has anyone else noticed scratches on the windows of their newer Escapes ? We hardly open the windows on our 2010 Escape, but have noticed scaratches on both front windows. I would guess they are caused by something in the outside weatherstrip. I haven't been back to the dealer on this problem yet. I would think that this should be covered under warranty ? Other than that, We like everything about this Escape. Thanks Ed
  3. I just took delivery of a 2010 Escape XLT, that did not come with a factory remote start. I had the dealer install one as part of the deal, it is a one button fob and it works exactly like every other remote start that I've had before. No issues whatsoever and the engine does not stop when the door is opened. I find it hard to believe that you have to live with this issue. I also have the MYKey feature but it is not activated at this time. and according to my owners manual on page 95, it is stated that MyKey is not compatible with non Ford approved aftermarket remote start systems. If your dealer installed your remote starter, they should be held accountable for installing a Ford approved remote start system, My dealer installed aftermarket unit is an Audiovox system Code Alarm # CA 4050. I would expect your dealer to see that this is corrected and have someone who understands the problem correct it. Good Luck, I know that I would be as upset as you are
  4. can a new 2010 ford escape be fitted with 4 wheel disc brakes ?
  5. I am new to this forum, and this is my first post. But as far as having to work the 7.3 for best results. I can say that my 03 7.3 that I bought new in Aug. 02 is probably the most reliable, best running vehicle that I have ever owned. I do pull a 30 ft. 5th wheel camper a few times during the summer for a few local trips and 3 or 4, 200- 600 mile runs.. The rest of the time it's my daily driver, I am retired now, so mostly errands, go here and there, short trips 5-35 mile range. This venicle runs better all the time and I only have at present 39,575 miles on it. So if you can find a 7.3 that you like and have it checked out by somone familar with diesels, don't think that you have to drive it like a long haul trucker. They have great engines, if properly maintained Good Luck, Ed
