  1. Just imagine an excursion with the new 6.7L diesel. It would get better MPG than many of the crossovers and sedans on the road.
  2. Probably a pipe dream, but I would like to see this happen just as much as the next guy. I came close to spending $50-$60K on a new 2010/11 Expy. However, when I reaized all of the compromises I would be making (i.e. cargo capacity, engine options, interior seating space, towing capacity, etc.) I had a change of heart and couldn't pull the trigger. Instead, I found a used Excursion for a whole lot less and I haven't looked back since. The Excursion is a utility vehicle and that is what I use it for. There is nothing better for hauling large groups of family and friends on long road trips or for towing weekend toys (boats, TTs, etc.). If you think the gas mileage is poor and too expensive for your tastes then find another vehicle that better suits your needs. There are enough of them out there to choose from. I don't use my Excursion as an every day vehicle, but it is perfect for out of town trips or even just when you have a lot of family or friends in town to tote around. With higher gas prices the market for large SUVs has obviously become a niche market, but that doesn't mean a company can't still make a profit while pushing smaller quantities from the line. There are still plenty of people with large families and/or large toys that only an Excursion can accomodate. Does anyone have the figures for the # of F550s, F650s, F750s, E-Series. etc. produced each year? FORD, PLEASE BRING BACK THE EXCURSION!!
  3. Appreciate your input! Just to clarify. 4x4 primarily for driving through snow, for when launching and pulling boat out of water, and some basic trails, but no hardcore off-roading. Want 4x4 for just a little more than the mall parking lot though. :D The Raptor, not the Expy, would be my choice if I wanted to do real off-roading. B) :beerchug:
  4. How different is that from the current Expedition/Navigator models?
  5. I am curious too. Hopefully, we'll see the new order guide in the next few weeks to end all of the speculation.
  6. Any thoughts on the air ride suspension in a 2010 Expy?
  7. Anyone with any new info concerning the minor changes/enhancements we might see in the 2011 Expy? Only a couple of months away from the typical retooling for the next make year. Thanks!
  8. What do you think of the Air Ride Suspension in an Expy EL 4x4? Is it worth it for occasional towing of about a 6500 boat/trailer, or is it just something with minimal benefits that will cause problems years later? Also, is it possible to get the Air Ride Suspension in a KR Expy without the "KR luxury package?" I tried on the Ford site, but it wanted me to add the KR luxury package when I checked the box for air ride suspension. I was curious if there was still a way to add it without the luxury package. Thanks!
  9. What are some pros/cons of the 18" vs. 20" wheels in a Expy EL 4x4? Thanks!
  10. When do you think the ordering guide for 2011 will come out? Will it be after they retool for the new model, meaning around July/August? Thanks!
  11. Does that mean the next gen Expy is going to do away with the IRS?
  12. If a vehicle is ordered from the factory, is the X Plan pin needed at the beginning when the order is placed, or not until the vehicle is built and delivered to the dealer?
  13. Do you think there will be any minor new features/options in the 2011 Expy (e.g. the trailer sway control feature that was added for 2010s)? Thanks!
  14. Earlier this week I finally found a KR Expy at a dealer and I was very impressed. It was good to see it first hand.
  15. I found some articles that mentioned the ford fusion getting MyFord Touch, but I couldn't find any mention of the future plans to add it to any other vehicles. Anyone hear anything else?
  16. Thanks for all of the replies. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'll keep checking, but there have been zero KR Expys at any of the nearby dealers for a while now. I still want to see it in person, but it's good to have other opionions since the one dealership I talked to did everything they could to push me away from the KR. They probably just wanted me to get one of the limited Expys on the lot.
  17. Just wondering what everyone thinks about the Expy in the Limited trim package vs. the King Ranch? It's my understanding that, aside from the special leather and a few King Ranch emblems on seats and rims, every other option is available in both trims. Is the King Ranch leather that much nicer for the extra money? A local dealer stated that the King Ranch leather was very high maintenance and not really more durable than the regular Limited leather, but I was wondering what everyone here thought of it. Thanks!
  18. The ingenuity of the developers of this new expedition is amazing. They know exactly what I want. :hysterical:
