  1. yup, they did. They had a contest where you could enter how many complete laps you thought it would go. A few things to remember though, this was on a track, with the base V6 automatic which includes the low resistance tires, and they only went like 50 mph around the track. So, it is impressive but in no way relates to real world. The only thing that I take away from it is that if they can get 48 mpg under exact perfect conditions then it shouldnt be too hard to get the rated 29 mpg in the real world.
  2. So, what is everyone getting MPG wise? Is the 30 mpg highway on the V6 hard to get? Or somewhat easy as long as you dont gun it?
  3. WOW.... Canadas mpg numbers seem way too high.... Canada says 42 mpg highway with a convertible.....
  4. see, i dont understand this. Maybe someone who works for a dealership can clear this up. I hear stories like this all the time from everything from Honda to Ford dealerships about someone having issues getting a new car ordered, and if they can it seems like they try to charge a little extra for it. I am a mechanical engineer and am currently going for a masters in manufacturing engineering. So, the latest hot item would be Lean Manufacturing. When it comes to plants sort of a basic idea it is going after is saying the more material you have sitting around the more money you are wasting. You want to have as little inventory as you can get. Sooooo, by that logic dealerships should LOVE special ordered new cars. Here is a car that will be sold the SECOND it hits their lot. The more cars that a dealership has just sitting around not being sold the more money they are wasting. So, again, why wouldnt a dealership like people who are willing to wait a few weeks to special order their car???
  5. Could someone who has already gotten a 2011 mustang tell me about the storage compartments on the mustang? Specifically I am talking about all those little nooks and cranies that can be used to store things (sunglasses, CDs, cell phones, etc) From what I saw at Detroit, and what I can see in the pictures there really is not much in the way of storage compartments in the mustang. I saw, of course, the glove box. Then there was that small arm rest container which also had the USB input, and then you might be able to squeeze something in between the cup holders. Is this it? or are there compartments that I didnt notice? This is not going to 'make or break' it for me, but I was curious about it. Thanks for the responses. Oh, also, I heard a rumor that the USB input doesnt charge Ipods??? any truth to that? Thanks much
