  1. ViperPilot, I appreciate your time and explanation, you are right -it would have been wonderful having some communication from Ford during this process. Thank you grab302, I wish you and pony racer luck with your cars. For those that choose to ridicule, feel free... that is a excellent way to represent your company. Considering 2 income households are becoming more and more rare with this economy walking on egg shells... I'm sure a household that purchases a vehicle every couple years (sometimes 2) will not mater, nor will the influence with family or friends . So laugh it up :D
  2. Hello everyone, My name is Kahdir and I've been a Mustang fan since I can remember. I planned on keeping my 2005 Mustang GT (VIN #1ZVFT82H955118929) forever... until some teenage girl texting while driving rear-ended my Mustang, doing over $9k in damage. Dissatisfied with the repairs after a lot of back & forth with my insurance company, I decided to replace it with a 2011 Mustang GT. I was able to chit chat with some of the Ford engineers at SEMA and heard that the order banks would open early for the new 5.0L. I had my dealer (the same one that I purchased my 2005 from) spec a car on 12/26/09, it was submitted on 1/18/10 (the day the order banks opened) and accepted on 1/19/10. Not quite sure why my car wasn't scheduled to be built until the week of May 10th (possible parts shortage on my options... ) but it was built on May 14th with an ETA of May 22nd Well, May 22nd came and went... it was then updated to June 1st ETA. Ok, I thought... until others that ordered afterwards were receiving their cars  . I think the final straw for me was the lack of updated info on my car while some were able to receive their cars in as little as 18 days . Well, I checked one finally time on Friday (6/25/10) -to no surprise still no update! (VIN #1ZVBP8CF7B5118634) During this extended torture of waiting for a car that was supposed to be delivered before Memorial Day weekend, I test drove a 2010 Camaro SS (6/11/10). While different in may ways to what I was used to, I was very pleased. For the next 2 weeks I debated in my mind the pros and cons of each vehicle... It was one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make. I like both cars and even planned on owning both (be it a later time..) but not knowing what problems may or may not be afflicting my ordered 2011 Mustang was too much to chance. Without too much more rambling, here is my new toy
  3. Hello everyone, My name is Kahdir Johnson. I ordered a 2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium (VIN 1ZVBP8CF7B5118634) on 1/19/10, it was built 5/14/10 with an original ETA of 5/22/10. It has since been updated to ETA 6/1/10 with no further record. I have tried requesting a copy of the Vehicle Visabilty history from my dealer to see if there has been any movement since production to no avail. Is there anyone who can help me? Please. I am aware of the QC holds, I want to see if my vehicle has had any movement required prior to shipping.
  4. The oldest to newest line is the biggest load of crap! As of 6/16/10, several hundred cars built in June were loaded for shipment, my car that was built 5/14 -no update! The regional rep for eastern Pennsylvania called in a favor for an aftermarket company who employs the son of a Ford dealership owner. A grabber blue Mustang GT was ordered, built and delivered within 4 weeks! That order was sold at dealer cost (well below invoice). I am paying 2% over invoice. Does my money not spend as well as American Muscle's? Does my purchase not matter as much as theirs? I ordered early to receive my car early. Now it seems since I'm not using my purchase for profit and providing possible media coverage for Ford, I am forced to wait at the back of the bus as if it were 1955 on the Montgomery Bus line.
  5. No change in status, my dealer does not have any idea when it will ship... yet a bunch of Mustangs built around the same time as mine were updated to in transit. (reference forum) I have requested my deposit back.
  6. Thank you for your information. I wish there was a way I could pay extra to get my car (VIN #1ZVBP8CF7B5118634) on "Hot" status... I must have it on or before July 9th, 2010.
  7. lol! Yes that would suck, but I'm the automotive aftermarket industry -so either car I get will be modified ;-) The Mustang would only need wheels, tires and a lowering kit in the begining to suit my taste. The Camaro on the other hand would need a good bit of SLP parts to avoid getting smoked the 2011 5.0L. Eventually I'll have both in my driveway, I just wanted to replace my fantastic 2005 Mustang GT with an awesome 2011 Mustang GT and wait for Chevrolet to improve the Camaro's suspension, interior and power output.
  8. Hello Ford employees and fellow Ford customers, I ordered a 2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium on January 19th, 2010. I did so because of my pleasant experience with my 2005 Mustang GT Premium. Growing up in a predominately GM favored family, I decided to go against the grain when I ordered my 2005 Mustang for my 29th birthday in July of 2004. After owning several Jeeps ('85 CJ-7, '97 TJ, '00 TJ, '03 TJ), this was my first sport car and my first Ford purchase. My only expectation for delivery was before Christmas of 2004. My car was delivered November 19th, 2004. All of the excitement surrounding the S197 chassis did not disappoint. Now fast forward to 2009. The new Chevrolet Camaro returns and I considered purchasing one while also keeping my 2005 Mustang. The redesign of the 2010 Mustang was wonderfully done, but the drivetrain did not meet the 400hp mark the 6.2L LS3 brought the table. Yet there were whispers of a new 400hp 5.0L motor slated for the 2011, so my plans changed. I held off on purchasing the Camaro as I anxiously awaited the opening of the 2011 Mustang order banks. I ordered early to receive my car early and enjoy it as a birthday gift to myself. Not quite sure why my order took so long to schedule, but it was built on 5/14/10 and has been sitting at AAI's lot ever since. This wouldn't bother me so much if all similarly equiped cars were keeping it company, but there have been several hundred that I am aware of that were ordered (retail and stock), built and shipped since 5/14/10. With July right around the corner, I am considering my options (2010 Camaro 2SS/RS) to keep my promise of "driving a new car by my birthday". I had hoped it would be the 2011 Mustang GT I ordered in January, but with the lack of info on my order status I don't see it happening. 2011 VIN #1ZVBP8CF7B5118634
  9. I would like to see a system based on a "first come, first serve" basis. Customers come first in the retail business. Don't force a paying customer to hunt down a dealer based on size/allocation. The rest will work itself out... Take Walmart for example: A store in a major city vs. one in the middle of nowhere.... both have access to the same inventory, both stock their shelves based on demand, but If I order something online, I can have the item shipped to the store of my choosing to pick-up. Size and traffic of that store are irrelevant.
