  1. Yes, I know. It's 2009. The 2011 are better. And the '11 and '09 Toyota's havent' had their chasis changed.
  2. The problem with answering that question is the I'm not on the executive and marketing team for Toyota. Do you think Russia or China want to know what the US plans are for future weapons? But the rumor mill has 2014 as the year they come out swinging...at a Ford company that's already battle-hardened and well-entrenched on the front lines of truck wars...and winning. And don't forget Chevy and Dodge.
  3. I predict an 5.0L ecoboost. Don't expect GM to take this lying down. Having been bruised up pretty badly by Ford new engine lineup, they really can't compare their aging engines to theirs. They can split hairs like having better fuel economy at 4,257 RPM's or simpler way of fueling up but I think the public is smarter then that. GM is having alot of internal changes that could affect the direction of their vehicle business. In simpler terms, don't expect the new trucks to have much of an impact on Ford's.
  4. Good analogy! Having a "me too" attitude has never really worked in the marketplace. http://www.toyota.com/tundra/deconstructed/ http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/experiencef150/?section=torture:tear&intcmp=fv-fv-a1b08c03d000683e07f11g05h07j11k09m3n0p20110304 Now you tell me...which engine got tortured worse under far worse conditions then some lonely ranch in the middle of nowhere??? I wonder if a 1995 F150 on a similar ranch still survives today?
  5. I agree. However, don't expect Toyota to take this lying down. They are getting beat from all different directions, including the NHTSA. Safety now has its very own question mark even though the US government vindicated them on the accelleration issue. This is no different then someone accusing you of stealing money even though there is no evidence. It's all stigma. I do expect Toyota to mimic their competition in just about every way. I guess we'll wait until 2014>> http://www.autoblog.com/2010/07/27/report-toyota-to-kill-sequoia-tundra-redesigned-in-2014/
  6. This guy reminds me of Jacques Nasser, former CEO of Ford back in the day. He had an accounting background that did not suite to well for Ford. During his tenure, he drove the company nearly into the ditch. In addition, there was a large exodus of engineering talent which cut Ford to the bone. How the heck can you make money if the people that design and build your product leave the company? It was is performance rating system that forced the exodus. Moral of the story, you need a person with a technical background to run a technical company. Case in point: Alan Mullaly. He has an aerospace background and is running a car company? He was chief engineer for the Boeing 777 and is running a car company? Look at Ford now!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Nasser
  7. I heard the same thing. I'm sure Microsoft has non-disclosure agreements in place with Ford. However, I suspect GM won't follow suit. Having too many car companies rely on a single supplier for software/hardware puts them in danger of "leakage" of information within Microsoft. However, I wouldn't get it past them that they rely on Apple. Reason being because of their unwavering meticulous attention to quality and their closed "ecosystem". I'd bet good money they will take that route.
