  1. I haven't read much about it, but does anyone know if the "ticking" sound that is showing up on some 5.0L engines is a serious concern? I wonder if this is indicative of a design problem that might impact reliability?
  2. Do Mexico & Venezuela only build parts that go into the F150 (which are the imported to US)? Or do they actually build the entire truck?
  3. Me too. I ordered on November 26, and just received in the mail a $750 cash offer from Ford if I take delivery of a new vehicle by January 31! That would be 9 weeks from my order day, and my dealer estimated 8-12 weeks for delivery. I'd hate to lose an extra $750, but the production delays may be the nail in the coffin.
  4. It's interesting you have a "Priority 1" -- wonder how that happened? Good for you...!
  5. The webpage below has a really good explanation of the ordering process: http://www.raptorforumz.com/showthread.php?t=2346&highlight=priority+codes I put my order in, and my dealer said it was "picked up by Ford". I didn't realize, until reading the website above, about the DORA -- I don't have a copy from my dealer, so I'll need to stop by to make sure there isn't a mistake on the order.
  6. My 2011 F150 order is a 4x4 SuperCrew XLT 6-1/2' bed (5.0L) with the 3.73 e-locker and tow package (and a few other options). I had also considered the FX4, but decided to save the $$$ and "downgrade" to XLT. Also, the "SelectShift" option is included in other trims, like XLT, if you get the 4x4 with tow package. I'm not entirely clear on what this does.... but it will be there on my XLT.
  7. I ordered a 2011 F150 4x4 SuperCrew XLT (5.0L) this past Friday, Nov 26. Where are the XLT's are bult? Also what Job# would this likely be scheduled under? My dealer estimated 8-12 week delivery. They said they'll give me the VIN once they get it, but I suppose that won't be for several weeks, best case? Appreciate it!
  8. Wow, I'm a happy camper.... Even though this thread is a bit old, I just ordered a 2011 F150 XLT on the X-Plan on Friday. When I configured the truck on Build&Price, it doesn't show that SelectShift is included (e.g. compared to FX4). However, I just checked the computer printout of my vehicle order from the dealer, and it says "Select Shift'. I'm not sure when/where I'll use it, but I'm glad to have it, and now I know that it will be on the steering wheel column.
  9. I wish I would have held onto the Ford stock I bought back in the late 90's. I will say, however, that I would never buy a GM, nor invest in GM, simply because of the government bailouts. I'm glad that Ford didn't take the bailouts, and I just put in an order for a 2011 F150. Regards
