  1. Yesterday I spent over six hours on the road in my Explorer. I also spent four hours sitting in a conference room during which I found myself longing for the comfort of the seats in the Explorer. I can honestly say they seats in the Explorer are the most comfortable seats I have ever had in an SUV. I am looking forward to road trips more and more over the next few years.
  2. Well, to answer my own question the seat are extremely comfortable. After the first week I have no complaints. I have only driven it for an hour or more once so far and will update once I start taking some longer trips in the next week.
  3. I picked it up on Friday. I was curious if they would provide any tutorials. The only advice I got was to fill up the gas tank. Oh, well. I have put 200 miles on it in the past two days and am starting to get it figured out. There is a bit of a learning curve with the MyFord Touch but I am making progress. It feels very wide and the seating position is a little low for the windowpositions. That is the sum total of anything I could complain about so far. Other than that I am loving it. It is my new office on wheels and I can already see how much more functional it is than the 2008 Chevy Trailblazer it replaced. Thanks again gang for all the advice!
  4. Thanks guys. I will be picking it up tomorrow morning. I can understand if the MyFord Touch needs a full checkup and they had a backlog. The parts for the Remote Starter were definately not the holdup. They didn't even order them until Tuesday this week and the installation of that is already completed. They set the appointment for tomorrow because they didn't have something relating to the fleet paperwork today. I just want my new toy.
  5. The dealer rep told me they have only one tech who preps all their new vehicles and he was off at the beginning of this week. Also, my situation is a little different than most. My Explorer was ordered by a fleet company for delivery through the dealership. The dealer gets a fee for prepping the vehicle but does not get commission for the sale. By requesting they install the remote starter I am at least a customer. It would seem my Explorer was still a low priority since a few Explorers came in after mine have already been sold off the lot. They have promised me the Explorer will be ready either tomorrow or Friday with the Remote Starter installed. I am probably just overly anxious for my new toy. Two of my collegues already have theirs already even though mine was ordered first and I am much closer to the distribution point.
  6. Thanks Nick. I kinda thought it was a little absurd. If they do not remember to install the remote starter I think I will take it to a different dealership to have it done. They have all been really nice to talk with but making me wait a week tells me how low of a priority my vehicle delivery is to them. If they deliver it faster I will reconsider.
  7. Does anybody know how long it normally takes a Dealer to prep a new Explorer or any new vehicle for that matter? Mine was into the dealer last Thursday night and they are telling me it will be the end of this week before it is ready. I am having them add a remote starter. That still seems a little long to me.
  8. Bump. I hope you have a great vacation, Cyberdman. Would you please check for an update one last time? Hopefully I will have the pictures waiting for you when you get back. Thank you! 1FMHK8D87BGA19713

  10. Bump. Would you please check and see if they pulled my new Explorer out of the snowdrift? 1FMHK8D87BGA19713 Thank you Cyberdman!
  11. I am waiting as well. Mine was built last week but did not make it to transport before the blizzard hit. The worst part is knowing it is sitting less than 40 miles away and probably buried under 4 feet of snow and totally inaccessible. Nothing to do but sit and wait.
  12. Bump. 1FMHK8D87BGA19713 Would you please provide an update? Thank you for all your help, including letting me know the best time for the next bump.
  13. Bump. Would you please provide an update? Thank you Cyberdman. 1FMHK8D87BGA19713
  14. Bump. Would you please provide an update? I can't wait until I am able to post pictures of my 2011 Explorer. Thank you again! 1FMHK8D87BGA19713
