  1. Mine seems a good bit better since the update too. I have just learned to not ask it to do anything for a minute or two after I start the car...because it probably won't anyway. There are still some minor gliches but nothing too terrible. There is a complete rewrite from Microsoft on its way? Will it be made available to us?
  2. Oh wow...that's great! Did it help?
  3. That sounds like a good idea. I'll definitely try it. Like I said...I'm just blown away at how long it takes to just do it itself. My wife's car ( 2 years older) is flawless. When MFT is working properly...it's like a dream. When it's not...its an embarrassment, lol. That's the strange thing...the problems are SO random. My last couple of days have been great...no problems at all...and then all of the sudden...I know it will start acting up. Like I said before...I just really think it's incredibly buggy at this point. I also wonder if the system itself has enough computing power to pull off all that it's trying to do...almost always seems sluggish.
  4. Wow...that would be a really good thing. To me...it just seems like incredibly buggy software right now. I just got done driving it and it was absolutely perfect. That's the thing...it does all of these crazy things but doesn't do them consistently. Do you think we'll be notified when the software update is available?
  5. Hey everyone...I've had my 2012 Focus Titanium for about 6 weeks now and I love the car but am growing to hate MFT...was wondering if anyone else is having issues... some of mine include the following... 1) MFT wants to index my ipod at random times and this requires more than 30 minutes to do with my ipod. My trip to work is only 25 minutes. Thus, it only gets indexed on long trips which means I don't have access to voice features with my ipod until I take a long trip. Also...it will index it without me ever disconnecting it or adding any new songs. It will literally be plugged in for 2 weeks and then out of the blue it will start indexing it...drives me crazy. Wouldn't be a big deal if it only took a few minutes. My Ipod contains roughly 13 Gb of music which isn't all that much. As a reference point...my wife has a 2010 Fusion Hybrid and I've had zero issues with it. It indexes only after my Ipod has been disconnected and reconnected. Also, in my wife's car it takes a matter of a few minutes to index the whole Ipod. As I said, my car takes MUCH longer. 2) The screen went blank when driving the other day...just shut off and restarted in the middle of my drive and in the middle of a phone call. 3) The screen started flickering yesterday and kept telling me that my navigation system isn't working properly and that I need to have it serviced. It gave me that same prompt over and over and over...every minute for 25 minutes. 4) I could not access any voice features AT ALL during my drive yesterday. No matter how many times I pulled on the lever, I never got the "please say a command" prompt. 5)The navigation system wasn't responding in a way that made sense at all on our 4 hour trip from Kentucky through Ohio. I kept asking it to show me restaraunts along our route and it told me there were none...over a 4 hour drive? It also kept jumping around screens that I wasn't asking it to do. It would ask me a question and then when I would answer, it would exit the whole navigation system and I'd have to start again. My wife was ready to kill me and the car. On that note...my wife's 2010 Fusion Hybrid's nav system works beautifully and we've never had an issue. Mine...really has yet to work right. Also...I went through a tunnel about 2 weeks ago and when I came out the nav system was completely messed up and never corrected itself. 6) On my drive today, the screen kept lighting up like it was waking up and then it would go dark again...then light...then dark...over and over...all the way to work. 7) Sometimes the voice commands are fast and responsive...other times it reacts like an old 386...I can't figure it out. Anyway...just wondered what some other experiences out there are like right now.
  6. Awesome! My mpgs arent real impressive right now...I think it's around 26 but I'm only about half way through my first tank. I'm sure they'll get better. I absolutely love the car. I, like you, have a few issues with MFT but so far...I'm still very glad that I have it. For the most part, it's awesome...just a little buggy yet. Hopefully, as you said, they come out with some updates to fix things.
  7. Thanks everyone...I love it more every day!
  8. Oh...now I'm going to quote every large picture I ever see in every thread I see you in... haha. I'm kidding.
  9. Hey...thank you! Yeah...I love the car. There's really only one thing that's driving me a little crazy. I have an ipod hooked up to it and it works great...EXCEPT...haha...there is one group of songs on there that I cannot get it to play via sync (play track...) I can get it to play any of them if I ask sync to play a playlist they're in...but it will not play out one of those 6 or 7 songs on cue. It's very weird. So far, I can play anything else on my ipod...just not those. It sees them because when I ask it to play one of those songs...it says "select a line number" and shows me the song...but when I select it...it just sits there...it's strange. Also, there are some times when I can't get sync to engage...I'll hit the voice button but nothing will happen. That's another little glitch. Other than those things...I love the car...feels very solid...and it actually is sharper inside than I even imagined. The sync technology really is amazing...I'm just a perfectionist...so these couple of tiny clitches are having me pulling my hair out haha.
  10. Hey all...after a very long wait...my new Focus finally arrived. 2012 Kona Blue Titaium Hatch 18" Wheels MFT Nav Parking Assist Winter Package...LOVE the car. I'm still not a fan of the ordering and waiting process...but the car is nice. MFT is definitely a little buggy but nothing too terrible so far. I attached some pics.
  11. Looks great! I'm thinking you ordered my car exactly...not sure about what options you have besides the obvious 18" wheels...titanium package and MFT...but it definitely looks the same. Getting mine in a few hours!
  12. 1)That's the flaw in the system...those pre-order people should be taken care of first...period. You have people that are willing to roll the dice and put a lot of faith and buy your vehicle without ever even seeing it in person or driving it...the least you can do is give them priority once the plant is up and running. 2)You win...you know more...haha. 3)It may be how it works...but in the end...it's a bad system if it screws the end customer. We'll have to agree to disagree on this. 4)Again...agree to disagree...my dealer just saw his first one show up last Thursday. Probably allocation as you stated before. 6) Like I told Fusion...if you're good with waiting...that's fine. Have a great time waiting. I'm not good with it and I expect to be treated more fairly. My point is that it's NOT acceptable for these pre-order people to get the shaft. You're screwing the people that have the most faith in you. It may be how business works...but it's not right. I could easily get on here and say..."you know...quit talking about all the good stuff about Ford...I can't take it anymore. It drives me crazy because I don't see them that way"... people have opinions and that's what forums are for... If my car were to me already...I'd be singing their praises...but it's not and I'm irritated by that. I'm not going to tell all the happy Ford people to be quiet though. They're happy...good for them...I would be too if I had my car. Anyway...everyone has a breaking point. I finally hit mine. Some hit theirs after 6 weeks...mine took four months. Maybe yours will take a year haha. At any rate...I'm sure you'll live a long stress free life if you're that laid back lol.
  13. Fusion...you should have your car...and you should have it long before I have mine. It's unacceptable to pay this much money for something and be treated like this. Yours should have been built long before mine. If you want to stay quiet about it... That's fine...more power to you. Please don't expect me to though. You're right...there are other options and if I could find one that I liked as much as this one...I'd go with one of them. I said virtually nothing for the first three months that I waited...and I kept saying nothing until I started watching car after car get delivered to people that haven't been waiting long at all. Meanwhile...I'm up to 4 months...you're up to 5 or 6. If you're good with that...then wonderful...you're living a happier life right now than me my friend, lol...and I wish I could look at it like you are but interest rates are good right now...and I'm piling miles on my 25 year old garage kept and normally stored Firebird. Like I said...if you're good with it...wonderful...I'm not...and if I felt like Ford had channels that I could really speak to...then I wouldn't be sounding off here. I know that Ford monitors these forums and they need to know that 4,5,6,7 month waits aren't acceptable and their process of choosing what goes where...when...creates a lot of unsatisfied customers. Look...I don't want to make enemies here...and I don't want to come across as a jerk. I'm just extremely tired of waiting...that's all. If everyone were still waiting...I'd be ok...but they're not.
  14. Exactly...I want it to be right too...but in the end if it wasn't right anyway...it just makes the wait that much worse. Another guy on here got his after waiting for everything to be perfect...and the park assist didn't work...AT ALL! He had it back to the dealer within a week to fix that on his brand new car that he'd waited forever for. Turns out that the cable was disconnected...not a big deal...but still. Another guy has a cracked dash already on his brand new focus. Thank goodness we're all waiting for Ford to get it perfect before our cars are sent out. The truth is...I'm not stupid...I know that there are going to be issues with any car...perfection is unobtainable...things will happen...but yeah...to wait this long and still have problems...is just another irritant. I hung up with a customer service manager a couple of hours ago and she told me again that there's nothing that anyone can do. When I mentioned that I'm thinking about cancelling the order and getting something else...she said that I needed to contact my dealer to carry that out. See what I mean?...they don't even care if I cancel. She kept throwing the same garbage excuses at me that everyone else does...allocation...are you sure your order is EXACTLY the same as these other people that are getting theirs?...blah blah blah. I told her that at this point...it doesn't matter...we're not talking about a couple of week difference...we're talking about a much larger time swing. I also told her about people waiting as much as 2 months to get their cars after they were built...and she said..."uh huh??? yeah?" almost like..."so what?..." It's unbelievable...just get me my car. I sure hope that in 10 years...when I get my next car...it's not like this. I can almost guarantee it won't be a Ford.
  15. It's great to be in a position where you have no expectations and I have to say that I wish my attitude toward it was more like yours right now. Unfortunately, it's not. I'm driving a 25 year old car right now that I took out of storage because I needed something to drive until my new one came. I'm pliling miles on a car that honestly...should be sleeping in a garage somewhere, lol. As far as your "What is fair?" comment...I completely agree with you. I absolutely think that all of those people who placed orders before me should have had their cars built and shipped to them before mine. But...all of ours should have been built and shipped before the people who ordered recently. I keep hearing people say things like "I don't care how long it takes...I want the car to be right..." So do I! If there are problems that need ironed out...that's fine...and I didn't complain during January, February, or March... I know they had issues and I said all along that I want the car to be right before it is shipped to me. Here's the thing though...they've been shipping thousands of cars...I hope that by now...it's right...know what I mean? Theyr'e in full production...but they're producing very much out of order. I shouldn't see a person on here who ordered in 2010 but still doesn't have their car...yet see a person who ordered 6 weeks ago...driving theirs...I just shouldn't see that. It's not right. "Quality" didn't keep them from shipping to the guy that ordered 6 weeks ago. And...if there is a HOLD on a group of cars (as there was on mine for 1 or 2 days)...that's great...check it out...make sure it's right...I'm good with that. I want my car right. What's NOT right...is that the hold was lifted on the 7th and it has literally sat since then. Yet this other guy's car was built 3 days AFTER my hold was released...and his car is on his way to him. I said this before, but it seems like there's a major flaw in the system...if a car is built and gets any hold on it's lot at ALL...it will set it back really far. From build to my first ETA was 3 days... it's been 11 since my second release. It's almost like people forget to tell the rail workers that the cars are re-released. It just makes no sense. If everyone was still waiting for cars to start shipping...that would be one thing...then I'd say it's quality for all and they need to get it worked out...that's not the case though...it's just unfair planning and shipment practices that have many of us frustrated and unhappy.
  16. I appreciate your insight and explanation. I'm sure some if not all of it is right. What's hard to take though is hearing it from someone who has their car. That's not a slam on you. I'm just saying that our frustration is incredibly high and please forgive me if that came out wrong. I just want my car...the one that was built over two weeks ago and had an eta and missed it already. It may be the rail carriers fault but I trust ford to do what it takes to hire people to get my car to me in a timely manner.
  17. You're exactly right. Anything goes wrong...even for a second...and your going to wait weeks...maybe months to get it after it's built. I told my wife...I've never been so frustrated and angry with something in my life...and I'm paying $28,000 to be upset. I just wish there was someone at Ford who wanted to make things right.
  18. Thanks Pioneer. I honestly don't think it can even come close. I'm angry all the time anymore. It's like standing in line for a concert for days...and then when the gates open...the security guards start calling the names of people way behind you. It makes no sense. My car was built the 2nd...released to be shipped the 3rd...got an ETA on the 4th or 5th...then the lot was put on hold for a day or so...then it was re-released on the 7th. It seems that if your car is put on hold...if even for a day...it screws you for weeks. If it is built and there are not problems it goes out fast...if not...you will wait terribly long. It's not fair and it's not right. My car should be here by now and someone should be making sure it happens.
  19. Anyway...thanks for checking Pioneer
  20. This is what I'm talking about and where my frustration grows. The guy two posts up...didn't even have his car built til the 10th...mine was built the 2nd and re-released on the 7th...but his car is on a railcar on it's way...mine has no ETA...nothing... I'm so tired of this.
  21. Thank you. I'm so frustrated right now that I'm probably saying things I shouldn't. Thanks for giving a cooler headed version of what I'm trying to get across. You summed it up well.
  22. Let me tell you something else...2 months ago I saw people on here complaining and I used to think..."cmon man...relax...it's not that big of a deal...what do you expect"... NOW...although I still think they were ridiculous considering the plant wasn't even really turning out cars yet...or was building them but hadn't released them... I finally see how they can get to this point. I guess everyone has their breaking point. I'm at mine. Last week when I had an ETA...I wasn't...I was frustrated...but not angry. Now...I'm angry.
  23. 1) Did you order a car? If so...when? 2) I know all about dealer allocations...I'm not an idiot. Trust me...I can almost guarantee I've researched this more than you. 3) I knew it would take a while to get my car to me and I didn't complain for the first 3 months until I started watching my car get shipped to people that ordered long after me...and not one or two...but many. 4) IT IS BROKEN IF THEY CAN'T GET THE CARS TO THE DEALERS. 5) At some point the customer needs to become a priority. If the big dealers need their cars...that's fine...but you have to slip something to the guy that's been waiting forever. 6) Don't talk to me or anyone else about whining until you've walked in our shoes. I did plenty of research and you wanna know something? Right on Ford's main page they touted "Available Early 2011"...it's not early anymore. I know there's going to be delays with a new plant and if we were all still sitting here waiting...that would be one thing...it's not all of us anymore... Forgive me for "whining" but enough is enough...and nobody seems to listen no matter what you say or do anyway. The car may be great...but if you irritate your customer with ridiculous scheduling that leaves them thinking they don't matter...then in the end...the car could be the greatest in the world...and you've still lost a customer.
  24. I agree...the system is broken...very broken.
