I picked up my 2011 Edge Limited AWD in early June and have about 3600 miles on it presently. In a recent trip from CO to UT and back we averaged right at 25 MPG. It's higher in the flat lands and a bit worse (24 ish) if you do a lot of hill climbing. Overall I'm very pleased with its efficiency performance.

Thanks. The dealership prep and communication was excellent. X-plan deal: good price, good program, virtually painless buying process. Salesman commented that Consumer's Report was not very complimentary of all the significant technology components in the 2011 Edge. I asked my wife if she thought it was intimidating. "About as intimidating as an iPhone" was her response. And she loves her phone. Anyway, I commented to her yesterday that if BMW or Lexus had produced an identical car it would probably be raved about in hallowed hyperbole in that same magazine. About the best you get otherwise is : This is a pretty impressive vehicle (like an unexpected but well received treat). Anyway, kudos to you and yours at Ford. You really have "outdone" yourselves. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

2011 Ford Edge Ltd AWD Silver/Charcoal Black Option 302A pkg. Picked up the Edge yesterday. Dealer honored all incentives available at time of ordering. So far, the most impressive feature (amongst a very impressive list) is the adaptive cruise control. Thanks for your help in tracking this. Truck delivery to the dealership from the railhead was inexplicably slow. The dealer sent up a driver to bring it down as soon as it arrived. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks. This is a useful site. I would also add that you should not rely solely upon the Edge's computer to do your mileage calculation. While it may in fact be correct, it can sometimes be worthwhile to at least "calibrate" your reported mileage with a real world manual calculation based upon miles actually driven and fuel actually consumed as noted by the amount of gas you use to fill the vehicle.

I find it odd that this feature finds such a resonance with the young folks. When first demo'd too me is seemed like so much feature creep as I had a hard time imagining how with all of the demand for the myriad of capabilities of the Ford MyTouch system, this one in particular managed to see the "light" of day (pun intended). I had never considered previously that ambient lighting color would be something I'd want to adjust. But, I must admit, it is cool to see the colors change on the cup holders but I must also admit that the feature seems of rather faint value overall.

There was a production change which strengthened the roof design of the 2011 edge (I believe this was for vehicles produced after Feb or March 2011) in order to improve safety scores by one of the insurance safety rating companies (not that it was a problem before as overall the safety rating for the Ford Edge is quite stellar).

You can force a reset of the Fort MyTouch system by pulling fuse #29 (wait maybe 5 minutes), then re-install. This I suppose is the equivalent to the old CTRL-ALT-DEL strategy on another famous microsoft powered system but might be better aligned with the original "big red switch" strategy of microsoft software maintenance.

Do you know what the towing capacity will be for the edge with the ecoboost engine?
