  1. The EPAS I have is sensitive but I love it. It holds the truck streight in winds with little input. ASK YOUR DEALER if things dont feel right. OR....you could be like the little OL lady I talked with a while back who bought a brand new LINCOLN MKS with an ecoboost....HER OLD car was a lincoln town car from the mid 90s...She told me the car won't stay on the road and she felt like she was wrecking all the time. I drove it as she ask me for some help...she was actually scared of it at times so she said.....NOTHING wrong with the car.....I went with her and I realized she was overcorrecting every move she made was drastic...she was used to the LOOSE steeing of the old lincoln. She would change lanes and about run off the road.. She was scary to ride with. THE CAR was a rocket ship with precise stering...NOT for her.
  2. You can reset it anytime you wish by HOLDING down the reset till its RESET as the last post stated. The Oil Monitoring system uses OIL TEMP, RPM (TORQUE), TOTAL RUN TIME, WATER TEMP, IDLE TIME, AIR TEMP, AND 4X4 use. Make sure you have your on board system set at NORMAL driving and not TRAILERING, TRIALERING WITH SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTEN THE CHANGE INTERVAL. The maunal says for NORMAL driving you can expect up to 10,000 miles or one year between oil changes. MY DEALER WANTS ME TO COME BACK EVER 3.000 MILES, ????? .........I am gonna come back when the OLMS says its time to change.
  3. I have a 2011 XLT 5.0 super cab w/chrome package (275/65x18 tires) 6.5 bed, 3.75 locker off road package with 10,172 miles on it. I bought it June 21st 2011. I live in Eastern Washington state at the foothills of the cascades. I drive the passed, 5600 and 4500 feet, at least once a month to visit relatives. With approx 70 percent hiway driving I averaged 17.9 miles per gallon in the summer for the first 5400 miles. Since the first of November we have had snow and near 0 temps on occasion and I have used 4x4 on several trips over the passes. Winter average dropped to 16.5 for a 4000 mile stretch with a lot more city driving in 4X4.. Just got back from a 700 mile trip over the pass with good roads and fair weather to Seattle and with some city driving and averaged 20.3 for the trip.Thats what I was averageing last summer on the same trip when the truck was brand new. Thats with me and the wife and two others in the truck. My truck weighs 6525 lbs with me and the wife tool box with stuff in it and full tank of fuel. I use premium fuel whitch does improve performance ie. excelleration for sure. But does not seem to make much difference in fuel mileage. I used Chevron Regular on the last 700 mile trip to compare. . All things considered I am getting better fule mileage than the factory 14 city 19 hiway 16 average. My total aveage is 17.2 for the 10,172 miles. I DONT BABY IT.....if I need to get to the on ramp first .I DO. Amazing power I think for so much weight....and the premium fuel does improve the performance as stated in the owners maual. Weather conditions and 4x4 means less MPG.
  4. The thing that separates the Ford Trailer brake controll from the aftermaket is the integration it has with the truck computer. So you get all the sway control, brakeing control, anti lock control in the trailer brakes that is designed into the pickkup as if they are ONE unit. The truck electronics only knows its activated and thinks if the trailer is doing something unstable the truck AND the trailer brakes work as ONE unit to get things under control. The aftermarket units can't do this. ITs an outstanding unit that others I have talked to swear by. As to whom its made by I would not be concerned as its an intregrated system with the truck computers. Its just an extension of whats already there.
  5. Regarding order delays on F-150 MAX PAYLOAD models. Before I purchased my new 2011 150 June 21st. I was considering the 150 MAX Payload HD tailer tow. Until the sales person told me the last two HE ordered took over 5 months to deliver. ONE was order last sept. and did not deliver till FEB this year the other was ordered in FEB this near and still was NOT delivered in June. TIRES however are not the problem as they are the same size and 10 ply rating as the tires on the standard f-250. HE told me the FEB ordered was delayed because of the Particular paint color???.....something to do with the sunami in Japan. He was also very candid with me as I have know him for years and HE said the MAX payload options always take condiserably longer to order. Just a guess but I am thinking they are different enough that they make a bunch of them all at once because of frame differences AND SPECIAL order details regarding the MAX Payload....??????
  6. On my 2011 F-150 with tow pakage and brake controller the fuse in position #21 (TT battery charge relay power) in the POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX (under the hood fuse box) was already installed at the dealer or the factory? I have spent much time in the AIRSTREAM TRAILER forums listening to the pros and cons of braking systems. I now feel like Fords factory tailer brake is the best in the business. This forum brought to my attention the fuse position. Even after reading the owners manual this forum gives me insight.
