I think they now get fuel injection this year. Lets face it, the France family sold out the true American race when they let the Toyotas in. I also throw a critical eye at those 2 knucklehead Waltrip brothers who promoted the Toyotas intro more than anyone else. I do notice attendance down since then, but unfortunately in today's new progressive society you're going to get "those people" that hate Ford and American products. Toyota also seems to get huge sponsors and tons of R&D . Also took some top Rousch guys away and that didn't help. Yesterday, Waltrip's Toyota (Clint Bowyer) was found to be illegal after post inspection...no big deal..they simply go to the back of Tony Stewart have problems...maybe Ford can win. I miss those days when the #28 Davey Allison Havoline Ford was kicking butt (without restrictors) ! I also was a big fan of Dale Jarrett until he defected to Toyota.

I'm glad we have the top 2 spots.....However, after watching the Toyotas virtually walk by the Fords in the shootout, when they wanted to at the end of the race, and especially Tony Stewart towards the end...he was way faster than any Ford...it makes me wonder if they are going to continue to dominate? The pole is nice but its only a lap or two. I'm hearing this also from other Ford fans. Waz up?

Does anyone know if there is a problem with changing the spark plugs on the 5.4 V-8 engine with the F250. My neighbor owns a 2004 F250 4x4 5.4 Triton V-8 and he heard that its almost impossible to get at the plugs to change them. Is that true? We were thinking of buying his truck and would like to hear from anyone who might know about this issue.

thanks for your input, but I have my heart set on the Taurus, plus the Fusion won't be out till much later this year. I only drive April thru October and then store my cars ,so I have a lot of driving to do this Spring/Summer and need a car pretty fast. By the way, Ford has the Fusion Diecast models (1:43 scale) on their Employee Gift site for $22.95. They have a limited amount of 2013 Escapes for $19.95. I wish the scale was better than 1:43. Anyway, Fusion is sweet. i just read that the 2007 Camry doors are suspected of catching fire.

I'll bite the wallet and take the 2013. Just out of curiosity....not sure if the 2013 Order guide (I downloaded from this forum) is accurate on the SEL standard wheels for the 2013. I ASSUME from the pictures on the order guide that the Standard SEL 18 inch wheels are the same from the previous years....2012,2011,2010. Do you think so....that is if you saw the order guide? From all of the info I could find...its the new SHO Option wheel that is the only new wheel....which is way out of my price range!

I know you're right. Ford just announced $2000 plus $500 combination rebates on the 2012 until April 2nd. That's a great deal...but I REALLY want that new engine and refreshed appearance of the 2013. Also saw a different MSRP for the 2013 Taurus on AOL.com ($28800) compared to the Edmunds.com price ($29595). Later!

Thanks for the bad news...I would have to buy a cell phone.....really don't have a need to buy a cell phone. by the way...that SYNC website has the 2012 Taurus for review and not the NEW My Ford system that I wanted to walk through. I tried the live chat....they sent me to the dealers. Dealers can't even tell me when the brochures or actual prices are coming out....in addition to being completely oblivious to the new My Ford. They apparently are waiting for TRAINING once the new 2013s are announced to the public.

Interesting...I see an issue for clarification. I have the 11/23/11 SEL Series Equipment Group Order Guide and under Pkg 200A it has SYNC Services , My Ford Touch 8 inch screen, reverse sensing..(blacked out)...all NOT available. Under Pkg 201A it includes Reverse Sensing, and SYNC Services and My Ford Touch 8 inch screen. I think they have 2 kinds of SYNC ...active Sync Services for the 201A package (Std on Limited)...and the Sync with My Ford available with annual subscription. Maybe I'm reading this wrong but I read that standard Taurus SE/SEL vehicles get MY Ford 4 inch center stack screen with Sync CAPABILITY (must be activated with a subscription).....BUT SEL PKG 201A /Limited Vehicles get Activated SYNC Services with My Ford Touch, includes 8 inch screen. So I'm assuming they offer Sync with MY FORD on SE/SEL ,but you must upgrade to get it with a subscription . However, if you choose 201A on SEL they give you the 8 inch screen with activated Sync services. If you don't want the 201A pkg and still want the subscription you only keep the std 4 inch screen for both SE/SEL. Does this make sense!?

Trust me, other than Edmonds.com...Ford corporate claims they "have no idea" and to check with the Ford Dealer. I called all 3 dealers in my area...they all have no idea and some figure April at earliest. They have had a $2000 incentive on the 2012 models and probably want to reduce that inventory. I personally know that Chicago Assembly started Job-1 build 2 days ago (Monday) and the launch looks good. they did stop the line for an hour over an issue with the Explorer. Simple resolvement and so far, they are soon to fill the yard. I believe the top management won't release the units until they approve...that could take a week or so. I figure the dealers will start to see the units in 3-4 weeks...since its costly to store units...unless they find a problem. If anyone knows more info..please advise. I want that Taurus big time!

Thanks for your input, but I'm pretty sure that Sync does NOT come from the SEL/200A package, which is what I only want. I get the standard MyFordTouch only with the 4 inch screen...basically graphics for Temp, CD-radio, and direction you are going. I welcome your input and until the dealer actually announces the prices..its a wait and hope its not too expensive. Please be aware that I don't even use a cell phone...so no need for Sync . Pretty scary, huh? Old School!

I just calculated the pricing on the 2013 Taurus SEL/FWD on Edmunds.com and comparing the MSRP from 2012 to the MSRP for 2013....THERE IS A WHOPPING 3.9% INCREASE ON THIS VEHICLE. WOW! That's over a $1000 more for the 2013....not counting the $2000 discount they have on the 2012.....which has been discounted for many months! I was figuring a 1-2% jump..at the most. Not good news for me and my purchase. Maybe I'll wait a few months till the inventory builds and they offer discounts. Thanks for the information...even though its not good news. FYI...yes , they upgraded the engine with valve timing and added remote start ($90 at your local shop)...but adding over $1000 more for the same basic vehicle is a shocker! (sad face) By the way, my dealer tells me it won't be till April at the earliest that they go on sale...and have brochures. Chicago starting building them on Monday! Man, I'm so pissed at the 4% increase.......Wahhhh!

It was a great show...HOWEVER, did anyone notice when the vehicle entered the 'Clearcoat Spray Area"..they had non-robot humans spraying the vehicles.....and they were covered up like Eskimos which appeared they had limited vision and mobility...not to mention the fatigue issue and apparent hurried applications. One shot had a sprayer simply spraying 3 ft away in the air and not really concentrating on what they were doing....also did the same in the primer paint area. I would assume a robot (which normally applies the colored paint...and does not get tired arms/back) would do that job. Maybe its a union mandate to create union workers. I prefer the robot like ALL the Toyota and Nissan and Honda plants use. Whenever the human element gets involved....errors will occur.

When you applied the Zaino Z-2 did you mix it with the ZF Accelerator that they advise? Also, Zaino says to wait 15-20 minutes after you apply to a haze before wiping off. In my experience...waiting that long creates streaks and excessive rubbing to get it off. How long do you normally wait to wipe after applying it? I assume you are using american made micro cloths rather than baby towels or tee-shirts...right? My engineer friend worked the Detroit auto show and he advises the Zaino product! I use to use "ICE" since its easy , but apparently does not last too long.

OK..thanks for all the info. Now, , after I get my brand new Black 2013 Taurus in a couple months, how long before the first wax? Does paint from the factory really need a cure time? Its not mentioned anywhere in any Ford Manuals that I can find. I really want to get a coat on as soon as possible...but wonder if it would harm the paint/clearcoat to do it too soon.I can't find any official position from Ford? Its like the old saying..."change your oil after only 500 miles on a new car since there are small particles floating around in the engine!" Or: "Ford uses a break-in oil and it should be changed after a few months!" In either case Ford also has NO WARNING to change the oil BEFORE its regular maintenance schedule...3000 - 5000 miles!

I would like everyone's opinion on what type of polish/wax to use on a new car. I have been told that a brand called 'ZAINO Z-2 Pro Car Polish' is the best. Its expensive ($26 delivered) but has no abrasives and lasts longer than 'ICE' or Meguires Gold Polish. The only issues are that Zaino Z-2 takes 15 minutes to haze before wiping...and they also recommend buying a bottle of their ZX Accelerator to mix with the Z-2. Seems cumbersome. Anyone try Z-2? Any suggestions?

Why is it when Ford did the commercial with the F 150 owner who mentioned Ford did not take a bailout...the ad was quickly pulled (we all know it was from Obama's inner circle group)....Yet, when the same bailed out company slams Ford....silence from the Obama's inner circle. Seems fair to me!

Hopefully, Chevy shot themselves in the foot.....since if you go to see the responses on YAHOO, its anger over using 'TAXPAYER BAILOUT MONEY' to spend $7 million to attack the leader.
