No, I have not received my vehicle yet. It was built on the 13th and I was given a late August delivery date. Then I received a second email with an estimated time frame of either the 23rd with the 30th of this month. It still has not shipped. I am disappointed, but have been patient. My patience will wane if I start getting into late October. We shall see. The rail workers are going to go on strike very soon.

My friend, I feel your pain!

Thank you. That makes me feel better. I will continue to be patient.

Did you get your Escape yet? I am still waiting for my Escape to be shipped since its built and sitting in the rail yard since August 17th. It had an ETA of Aug 30th...then every week changed to Sept 4th....changed to Sept 13th....then changed today to October 9-13th!

Ford Customer Service rep verified vehicle is not on hold and simply awaiting to be shipped. Dealer claims they must wait and will call me once it arrives! I know about the rail strike, but I'm wondering there is something else going on! Totally frustrated!

If true, that means the dealer is intending to deflate your tires and reinflate with nitrogen (technically just more nitrogen than the 78% already in the air).

As @Flying68 notes, dealers tend to charge for this "service", so I would beware of that.  Louisville Assembly (or really any Ford plant as far as I'm aware) does not fill with nitrogen, only air, so this would be done by your dealer.

Your Escape will have TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) to alert you of a flat tire per federal law, and will have readouts for each tire pressure on the instrument cluster display.  Feel free to ask for help finding it from your salesperson when you pick it up.

Side note, if there is a Costco near you, their tire centers have nitrogen fill stations.  They even have been going around putting in self-service stations where you enter the desired pressure and it'll shut off for you when it's reached.  No charge unless you want them to deflate and reinflate with nitrogen.

I truly appreciate the information. I had to talk to a couple people before they admitted they deflate and reinflate ! Thanks a bunch!

So is the dealer filling them with nitrogen, because I highly doubt the factory would.  Also most nitrogen filled tires aren't 100% pure nitrogen, close, but I doubt they are getting 100% pure.  The main benefit is that it is dry and doesn't leak as much, so if you have a dryer filter on a home air compressor, you are probably better off.  Or you can do like most people and just check the tires every month or watch the pressure monitor.

Here is what the experts at Tirerack say: SHOULD I USE NITROGEN IN MY TIRES?

Wow...I thank both you and j2sys for your excellent, accurate information. I just talked to my dealer and they confirmed the tires are deflated and reinflated with nitrogen only after delivery to the dealer. As mentioned : The plant does not put nitrogen in the tires! I requested they don't do it. Thanks a bunch for the valuable info!!

  5. I was advised by my Ford Sales guy that my 2022 Ford Escape (Still at plant since Aug 17) will have nitrogen filled tires (Green Valve Stems). I'm welcomed to visit the dealer service for any refills at no cost whenever I need. Of course, that means driving 10 miles to stand in line to simply add air ! I'm told it's slightly better for your tires, but such a hassle to find anyone that has it...and also heard they charge to do it. I'm wondering if I should simply just add air from the convenience of my garage...since all tires lose air (nitrogen included)..especially with winter approaching!

It means BBF is listing them but they're not available as someone has them on hold.  Generally retail orders with customers waiting on them, as noted.

Contact them directly if you're looking for available inventory, the online inventories are rarely reliable anyway.

I always appreciate the information and how quickly my questions are answered on this

forum. Thanks ! BTW...I'm awaiting delivery of my 2022 Escape ...I was told it should be delivered this week. I put $200 down, since my dealer has no inventory

Are these vehicles actually in stock or just displayed on their website yet appearing to be in stock? Are the Window Stickers for stock orders (Blue) or retail orders (Green)? The "On Hold" notice on the website may not mean anything if they're using it on every 2022 Escape. It could just be a marketing ploy to see what customer inquiries they get on those vehicles. Some could be sold retail orders and some could be vehicles with customer deposits to "Hold" them but haven't been delivered yet. Vehicles on "microchip" hold are not delivered to dealerships. However, if every vehicle is listed as "On Hold" as you stated, I'd guess that it's just Dealer BS.

I just noticed the Escape Units are showing ON LOT/ON HOLD! The window stickers are Green..with many noting 'Special Order' on the sticker. All released to 'convoy' with various dates...most dated July thru mid August !

  8. I noticed the 'Worlds Best Selling Ford Dealer' (Bill Brown Ford/Livonia) has '48'' news 2022 Ford

Escapes as New Car Inventory...however, every Escape vehicle has 'ON HOLD' printed on it. The dealer is closed, but does anyone know what it means? No Chips....?

Bill Brown has also posted a notice about vehicle purchases:  'WHILE WE APPRECIATE YOUR INTEREST, BILL BROWN FORD IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY OUT -OF-STATE RETAIL PURCHASES AT THIS TIME!' Wow, I never thought I'd see a dealer turning away potential buyers!

My vehicle went into production the 7th, and was built on the 13th. The notification from Ford said it was built and that it was getting ready to be shipped. And then gave me a time frame of the 24th through the 30th of this month. However, as of now the tracker still shows that it has not been shipped yet. I understand others have had delays and shipping, not sure why.

So, did you receive your Escape yet? I'm still waiting for my Escape delivery which is stating a September 4th date....but still not shipped as of today! It's been sitting in the yard since August 10th!

  10. I also have a 2022 Escape SEL that has been built and released to Rail (Window Sticker)

on Aug 10th but still not shipped. Ford Customer service claims a delivery date from Aug 29th thru September 4th! My dealer is 600 miles away located at Dahl /LM in Onalaska Wisconsin. Not sure if it will go convoy or rail!

YOu shouldn’t need to replace that battery for a long time.  2011 Fusion hybrids are still going strong.

Thanks for responding. I discovered the replacement cost is about $6200!! However, after talking to my Ford dealer I am told it's $8000....not $6200!!

Yes it will be. I will let you know and thanks!

Update...I'm still receiving those blaring updates despite choosing 'yes!' I've tried using all 3 responses (no, yes, remind me later)....and the updates continue. I guess I'll live with it and try to turn the volume down to avoid that sudden blaring update that comes everytime! I appreciate your response. I'll call the dealer when I can for their input. Take care!

  13. Almost every week after starting my Cmax , my radio starts blasting on a local fm station, along with a printed screen notice asking if I want to update my system (Yes/No/ or Remind me later). It's so annoying and despite choosing 'No' it repeats the same notice every week or less! (BTW: my daughter's 2019 Edge does the same thing). How do I stop this intrusion?

Hi bobbyd. Ford specifically tells owners not to perform injection tract cleaning services (i.e Sea Foam, CRC etc.) on their EcoBoost and Lincoln T engines. Yes, it can damage the turbo impellers, housings, seals, catalytic converters etc. Do not do it.

    Good luck.

Thanks bbf2530 for your response. I don't want to damage the components but was wondering if there are any alternatives to this carbon issue on Direct Injection engines?

At least , your timing was perfect, since we get our oil change on Thursday.

  15. My daughter's 2019 Edge has a 2.0 Eco boost engine. The dealer recommended we have the Direct Injection Cleaning done with her oil change. ($100) I heard from others it could affect the turbo during the cleaning. Any suggestions. Thanks!

Sorry I misread.  Normally a 12V battery lasts 3-4 years but hybrids usually last longer.  If you want to be sure get a Solar BA-9 battery tester and check the CCA rating against the new spec.

As always, thanks for the information. I think the batteries at the Ford dealer are around $139 or so. I'll wait till the next oil change and get a battery!

Well there are 2010 fusion hybrids with 150k+ miles still running fine…..

Thanks! I should be more specific, since the Cmax has 2 separate batteries...I meant the 'engine start up battery.'
