  1. Took delivery last night. Thanks again for your time.
  2. Thanks again. With any luck, I'll be able to post pics in the next day or two.
  3. Any update? VIN: 2FMGK5DCXCBD08172 - John
  4. Sorry - missed the M :-) Thought it was Cyber Dan.... I actually did mean to address this to you cyberdman! - John
  5. Hi Dan, Dealer says it has shipped. Confirm? VIN: 2FMGK5DCXCBD08172 Any tracking info? Thanks, John
  6. Hi Dan, VIN: 2FMGK5DCXCBD08172 Last I heard it was "off site" and "ready for shipping," but that was a month ago. Something to do with having run out of carpet? Thanks much, John
  7. Technicially, I mis-spoke (mis-typed?). We actually ordered a 2011 Limited, which included Nav. They weren't going to make any more 2011's in Red, so we had to wait until July production of a 2012, so they applied my order to a 2012. When the 2012 arrived in late August, and we discovered that Limited no longer included Nav, that Nav was now a a-la-carte item across the board, they re-ordered. That was supposed to be delivered 3-October, but it's hung up somewhere. The told us they ran out of carpet or some such nonsense. Still waiting. Meanwhile I sold our other car private party just a day or two before the first one got delivered in August, so we've been borrowing a car from the in-laws. If only my wife wasn't so picky!
  8. Shoemaker: I've had a Flex on order since Memorial Day. Latest I've heard was there was an issue with carpet and that it was sent off site about a month ago. Any possible details on that you can provide. I'm really trying to be patient, but time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping... into the future...
  9. Just saw this post which indicates MFT being planned for the 2013 model: Forum Post http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/47976-2013-flex-revealed/ Link in the post http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/08/2013-ford-flex-revealed-los-angeles-show/
  10. I've had a 2012 on order since 30-May that's still not shipped. Now I have the pleasure of seeing the 2013... sheesh...
  11. 1 - I don't see the the Flex as a chick car. It has way too much style and moreover, head-room to only be for women. It's nowhere near the VW Beetle ;-) 2 - I have a 2012 Focus w/ MFT. My advice is to not hinge your buying decision on if or when the Flex will be equipped with it. Being a "tech" guy, I assumed it was just too far over some people's heads, but the fact is that it's slow and buggy, and Ford doesn't seem to be quick to fix the ongoing issues.
  12. My biggest tranny issue is when you're on the freeway and you want to pass. You get an opening, but if you wait until that opening happens and press the accelerator, you get nothing back from the car. You actually have to anticipate the opening and accelerate early in order to catch your opening. When I hit the gas, it should GO! Does the TSB cover that?
  13. It may be MADE in the USA, but the profits still go to Japan.
  14. While I'm not sure I would choose this vehicle over again, I do tend to agree that the tranny behavior was a Ford decision. IMO, one probably driven by the government's fuel efficiency standards.
  15. Here has been my experience: When I bought my 2012 Focus w/ MFT I found it to be incredibly buggy and inconsistently crashing. One thing I found was that most of my issues seemed to be coming from the BT Audio streaming. Over summer, I too, my trusty iPhone 3GS swimming with me. Needless to say, it was time for an upgrade. I chose to go with a WP7 phone with the mindset of, "hey, it's Microsoft... it will work great with the MFT." Unfortunately, that was not the case. The only function it did pick up was the BT passing my text messages to the MFT. Something that shockingly did not work? Connecting the phone to MFT via USB directly. I got a message saying, "not a recognized USB device." For many, other reasons, I ended up returning the Windows phone and now I'm quite happy with the new iPhone 4S. One thing I have found that really seems to help with stability is, when I'm running streaming BT audio, I pause/stop the stream when I have arrived at my destination, before turning the key to the off position. I find that it more consistently recognizes the phone as a BT device than just turning it off like normal. Incidentally, I ran across this article today, indicating that Ford will be sending flash drives to its MFT customers to upgrade their systems. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/07/ford-myford-touch-upgrade_n_1079419.html
