As I understand it the trucks with factory installed auto running boards like yours will - have some options within the LCD screen... you can turn them off in either the up or down position. I can see keeping them down would be nice when washing the truck, and some have suggested keeping them out&down in a parking lot may stave off door-dings.

I'll be thinking of your platinum while I'm in the garage for hours this winter installing those automatic runningboards that Ford is doing for you... Those are just too awesome. All things being equal I would have gone with the 5.0; but I need the max payload & tow. I'm coming out of a 2500HD for the last 10 years so the move to a "half ton" is kinda a big change for me. This new truck beats my 2500HD in every category except payload.

your a patient man....I ordered nav as well in mine, I was ready in Jul but decided on waiting for the new payload package in the 12 Screw.

for what its worth..... I;d go with the line-x - It was the first thing I did on my 2500HD when I bought it 10 years ago, still one of the best features of the truck.,

Does that come with the Ecoboost? I thought I heard ford was expcanding those to the Explorer as an option

I have heard of people having great luck by modifying the subwoofer slightly. It has some type of foam block inside it which doesn't help the sound. Basically remove the foam block and replace with pillow poly fill you can get at Walmart for $2, loosely fill the box. I'll be giving this a try when my 12 arrives. Thanks for the review, really nice to see alot of positive things in your first month with the truck..
