  1. Turn signal was interesting. There is no palpable "click" feeling. To turn it off, it only takes a slight touch. This also controls the lane assist feature. While driving, I purposely pulled out of my lane without using the turn signal. The steering wheel vibrated every so slightly and I could feel the car pulling me back into the lane. That was a nice touch. The side view mirrors have a blind spot feature. If there is someone in your lane, a small orange light appears. I thought I would not be able to see out of the rear window but it was not really that bad. The belt line is a little high giving a sports car feeling. The Fusion drove very nice. It has a smaller engine than my Accord 2.4 engine. The turbo helped keep the ride peppy. Honestly, the whole time I driving it, I was thinking sports car. The Fusion really is a sedan that drives like a sports car. I don't know why, but for some reason while I was driving, I kept thinking back to when I was seven years old. Me and my dad in his old green Mustang (might have been a 1968?) with black leather seats. It was just me and him. The cops stopped him and he got a ticket for speeding. Could you get a ticket in your new Ford Fusion? I'm quite sure you could. One last thing. The instrument panel seemed small and cramped to me. My husband thought the same thing. There was a lot going on inside that small space. So, I hope I have done the Fusion justice. Again, I believe I made the right decision with the Accord. However, that is just my style. You guys are going to love the new Fusion. Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer to best of my knowledge.
  2. Roomy storage. Had a surprising amount of inputs. Integrated garage door opener on visor. Part of the moon roof package. Rear passenger light. The grab bars were kind of neat. When you pulled on it and let it go, it would return slowly. Rear seat headroom and leg room. Husband is 6'1".
  3. The drivers seat is quite comfy. I felt like there was ample support. Had a real sense of ergonomics. Bolsters were firm but not too firm. Well-suited for the adult shape but still sporty. The leather was quite nice with interesting stitching. The interior surfaces were not what I would call typical Ford. They seem slightly upscale without the "pimply" surface I've seen in other Fords. Nice fake leather grain and the trim was well done. Couple of surfaces in the center console were a shiny black and held fingerprints. If you have kids, it might be a problem. This is a nice feature. Memory for the seats and mirror positions. So you get three different memory positions for the seats and mirrors. Door lock. No post, just an LED. It blinks when the alarm is on. Glove box. Two tiers covered in felt. Not very deep was wasn't terrible either. Stitching FBI fingerprint file. One of my pet peeves. Also, it's not hooded, so it was very difficult to see what was happening on the screen. Maybe if you have on polarizing sunglasses it might help? Center lower console. It's quite wide. I disliked the strange pass through. I could see things might fly out the sides. Forced my husband's legs away from the center console. The touch panel is quite nice, although I missed having some kind of feedback that I had indeed pressed a button. Makes for a very clean look. When you touch a button, the lower light line flashes. Maybe that's to help you detect you've made a change.
  4. As some of you may know, after four months of test driving and research, I made my final decision on a vehicle. I purchased the 2013 Honda Accord EX and I love it. It fits my tastes and needs. I believe I made the right decision for me. However, I was still extremely curious about the Fusion. Today I made a trip to my local dealership (Parks Ford of Wesley Chapel) and test drove a beautiful blue Titanium. This was the 2 liter turbo Ecoboost. The following are my opinions of the vehicle. Prepare for a photographic barrage. What a looker. Nasty fun house mirror effect yiiikkkes! The exterior of the Fusion is quite beautiful, althought it was not as striking as I thought it would be. It doesn't hit you in the face or make you think "Wow, I'm standing in front of an Aston Martin." However, it does have style. Now for the interior. (see next post)
  5. That is so true and the fact that my husband has a silver Ford Ranger. He loves it. He loves the dealership and their service department. I first heard about the Fusion from them when I was test driving the 2012 Fusion. Yes, they have great customer service and called me the minute the Fusion came in. This is all just a matter of taste and what I was coming from (the Kia). Before I bought the Kia, I would not have been caught dead in a four door sedan. That was for old ladies and people with kids. But when I saw the interior and all the wonderful things that went with it for the price, I was in love. I test drove a lot of sports cars and realized I'm not that young girl any more looking for a red hot rod. I'm the old lady (48 heh) looking for a comfortable sedan. I don't have kids, so that's not the reason for the sedan either. Just comfort I suppose. Well, I'll let you guys know tomorrow what I think of the Fusion.
  6. Dealership called and they have a Blue Titanium for test drive. Going there tomorrow to check it out. Listening to you guys has made me think. I believe the reasons I chose the Accord are because I'm a comfort hog, I'm very short, and this: Kind of familiar. I absolutely loved my Kia.
  7. I got in the sport and immediately didn't like the center console. And, as you said, no moon roof. I chose the EX which had just about everything I would want inside. The EX has 6 speakers. I was kind of worried after I bought the car as I listened to the stereo. Didn't sound that great. After tweaking the controls, it's really nice. Factory settings were not to my liking.
  8. The deep burgundy color. Think they call it Basque Red Pearl II. It's the EX model. Think I forgot to mention it. As soon as my dealer gets a Fusion, I'm gonna test drive it and let you know my thoughts. Hope I don't fall in love with it. lol
  9. And a lot of you guys have ordered a new vehicle you've never been in or driven. hmmm lol
  10. Well, after three months of test driving and research, I have chosen my new vehicle; the 2013 Honda Accord. I bought it on Saturday and love it! I know, I hear the groans. "Yuck," you say and "boring." Yes, the Accord is not as sporty and pretty as the new Fusion. That was my biggest problem in deciding on a new vehicle. But after seeing the inside of this lovely vehicle and comparing it to the Fusion interior, I just had to choose the Accord. The Accord is full of thousands of dollars worth of features and has a luxurious interior at a price tag that is right along side the Fusion. The Accord handles great and is super quiet inside. I love the CVT. The technology (most of which even comes standard on the lowest model) is outstanding It's 8" i-MID screen displays tons of information; average mpg, phone info, radio, ipod/memory stick info, etc. You can even receive text messages. Want a picture of your kid or cat on the screen? It will store up to five different wallpapers. I never have to touch the screen which eliminates the ugly fingerprints. I noticed a lot of fingerprints on the Fusion's screen. Most everything is accessible through the steering wheel controls. The i-MID system is very intuitive and easy to use. The one feature that everyone loves is the Lane Assist camera. When you turn on the right turn signal, the camera shows what is coming up on your right. Back up camera comes standard as does a moon roof. There's an Eco Assist system which is also standard. Active noise cancellation makes for a very quiet ride. I could go on and on about the Accord's features but you get the picture. I do have to say I was disappointed with the Fusion's interior. It may be fine for some but not for me. To me it looks like a cold, dark wasteland. I probably wouldn't be happy with the high belt line or the back sloping window. (I'm only 5'2" tall) So, I am glad I found these forums. It helped make my decision on which vehicle to purchase. I still would like to see the Fusion up close. When the dealer calls, I'll go take a look. Thanks guys for your knowledge and opinions.
  11. I really wish they would hurry up and get them in central Florida. I have a buyer for my car and I don't want to be without a vehicle for two months. *cracking whip*
  12. I know this guys is a salesman, but I think he's gone into some greater detail about the Fusion. Makes me want to buy one.
  13. Decided to call a different Ford dealership than my local one. The guy said they still don't have any of the Fusions because Ford is holding them up at the fright train? He hopes they'll have them in in the next couple of weeks. I might be selling my car to a private buyer in the next couple of weeks. Hope they hurry up!
  14. I wonder what will be the best way to clean that screen? lol Have the same problem with my Nook. Really can't be helped.
  15. It's weird I haven't seen any commercial either. Maybe because it's not at dealerships yet.
  16. These are the vehicles I have test driven in the past three months: 2013 Nissan Altima Nice interior Like the CVT transmission Dual air-conditioning zones Rear air-conditioning Great gas Mileage at 39 mpg Exterior Uninspiring - bulging eye look 2013 Mazda 6 Okay interior Exterior seemed sporty Hate the amber lighting 2013 Hyundai Sonata Nice interior Very roomy Exterior not exciting but okay 2013 Honda Accord Loved it Very nice interior Has all the bells and whistles Exterior not too bad - pin stripes? really? Honda thinks you should pay for the air (nitrogen) they put in the tires and questionable dealer fees 2013 Buick Verano Very nice interior Very, very tiny inside (I was expecting to see a bunch of clowns exit the vehicle) 2013 Toyota Camry What an ugly vehicle. If you have kids, they could throw up in the back seat and the car would be fine. I guess that's why it's a family sedan. 2013 Buick Regal Nice! but out'a my budget 2012 Ford Fusion Nice engine - like a bat out'a hell! Interior looked cheap to me and I wasn't impressed with the exterior I road tested so many I finally started taking notes. However, the only vehicle where I truly remember the drive was the fusion. It seemed really powerful. Wish I had taken better notes. Also, my husband called the dealership yesterday and they said they should have had the new Fusions in last weekend. They're having some sort of "transportation" problem. So, maybe next week I will get to test drive one. I'm so hoping I like the Fusion's interior. Interior is very important to me.
  17. Has anyone seen pics of the Camel Interior? All I've seen is the black.
  18. I test drove the 2013 Honda Accord yesterday and was very impressed. Ford better hurry up because I'm very tempted to buy the Honda. My dealership's website still says dealer ordered for the Fusion. Also test drove the Buick Regal (kind of out my price range) and the Toyota Camry (yuck!!!) :barf: :barf:
  19. Thanks for the video. It's so purdy! Makes it harder to wait. lol
  20. Oh cool! Didn't know you could see that on the sticker. That means the cars coming to my dealership have already been built on August 20th. Maybe by the time I return from vacation they will be available for test drive. Hope they don't sell them before I can test drive. I'm sure they keep a demo. Right?
  21. Was watching a rerun of Auction Kings tonight where the guy is selling a Thunderbird. The Ford expert showed up to authenticate. My husband says, "wait, rewind that," and sure enough . . . The car parked very near the T-bird in the shot is a white 2013 Ford Fusion. The Ford guy must have driven it to show it off? lol The episode is from July!!
