  1. Guess you got a better deal then me, I guess that is another way my dealer screwed me besides selling me a rattling piece of junk
  2. If you feel you are stupid thats on you. Never said anything about anyone being stupid. And other people have reported rattling issues, especially on the Kuga. If you had the problems I have then you might be a little unhappy and disapointed. I do feel I have made a mistake in buying this vehicle. I am glad you have a happy experience but I have not.
  3. In addition to all the Sync Services issues does has anyone experienced the Car suddenly going Mute? This has happened twice where suddenly the radio goes mute, phone car speakers go mute, Ford computer goes mute. The Volume indicater is working but absolutly no sound. This goes on for a few days and then suddenly everything is back to normal. This is really when I hear all the car rattling!!!!!
  4. How is this for an opinion "DONT BUY a 2013 FORD ESCAPE" is that better?
  5. No I was not wearing leather nor do I have leather seats. are you saying that your escape rattles? so your are saying I should just put up with the rattling. It hard to do that when I just plopped down over 30k. I just sold to vehicles that did not squeak rattle or pop. If Ford cant fix it I will have to trade it in and in the mean time I will tell people DO NOT Purchase a 2013 Ford ESCAPE.
  6. 2013 Ford Escape SE, Dashboard rattle is back and the doors still vibrate. I am beginning to really hate this car. I even avoid driving it because all the noise! drives me crazy! The doors dont really vibrate, I would describe the sound more like if you are wearing a leather coat and everytime you move the leather makes a noise, that is the noise my two front doors make. The Dashboard does rattle and the dealer said it was my first aid kit in the the glovebox (even though it was an all cloth bag with nothing hard in it). When the sound came back I took everything out of the car and the noise was still there. I wonder what the dealer will blame it on this time. I am considering trading it in already. Thats what I get for buying my first american made car!!!!
  7. Thats why I posted to see if anyone else had the problem. I few of them have posted that "yes" they have the same problem. So your statement about "one" person does not apply. I am sure if you had this problem you would not be so Nonchalant about it. It looks terrible and since something like this is right in front of your face it should be caught in any quality check.
  8. Do you know if they have a fix yet? They already replaced my dash but it still has the problem. Do you know when this issue became an official issue? I have done some web searching and cannot find this information. I would like to complain to my Dealership because the sales rep and I both saw the defect at purchase, and they sold me the car anyway.
  9. the Dealer wants it back to try to fix it again. I want it fixed becaues as the heat and cold hit it over the years its only going to get more distorted. I will keep you posted about any fix
  10. This is the second time this has happened. I noticed it at purchase and they fixed it a few weeks later under warrenty. It still did not fit right and as a few weeks have gone by it is slowly popping back out. Does anyone else have this problem? I have looked at about a half dozen other 2013 Ford Escapes and all the Dashboards fit down nice and tight. I have attached a picture. I am afraid to take it back in becauses everytime I take it in to get something fix, they break or damage something else. I have about a 2inch scratch on the dashboard now from when they tried to fix it the first time but I know as heat and cold effect the dashboard its going to really start to look bad.
  11. I can get the five points areas for just under 300.00 I will wait for now on the front grill bumper area.
  12. I dont have a bracket but I do have a license plate frame on front and back, it looks ok
  13. why is everyone thinking a bracket is nessessary, I just screwed it in to the existing holes both front and back. Are you thinking over time that the wind will strip the bolt holes?
  14. Has anyone done this yet. The five areas (Hood, Mirrors, headlights, side windshield pillers, door handles) is reasonable but to get the front grill area will be very costly from the estimates that are coming back. 500.00 to 600.00 just for the grill area!!
  15. When I took my 2013 Escape in for recall work the first thing I saw was a big grease/dirt smudge on the driver’s seat. I have the sand two tone color interior so it was very easy to see. I pointed it out before I drove off and they immediately took it back and cleaned it. However, when I got home I decided to take a better look at everything. There was the same grease/dirt smudges all in the interior, especially on the driver’s door and around the lower paneling. I was really pissed. I was able to get most of it off myself but a in a few places it would not come off. I called my sales guy to tell him I was not happy. When I got the online survey, I gave low grades with an explanation as to my disappointment. When I took it back in for another recall two weeks later, I was treated professionally but with a definite cold shoulder. I was quietly told by the service manager that people can be fired over those surveys. On one hand I felt bad , I do not want anyone to get fired over something like that but on the other hand they only had to take a quick glance around to make sure everything was cleaned. If it was their vehicle I am sure they would have been more careful
  16. Got the Escape back today. They told me the Dash rattling was the first aid kit I had in my glove compartment. That i hard to believe since that is in a cloth bag and the only thing in there is bandanges, tape and guaze. However the noise is gone, so even if they are not telling the truth the good thing is it is the noise is gone. The door vibration is still there, they said they do hear it but they cant pinpoint it yet so if it gets louder to bring it back in.
  17. I have the Huskys Weather Beaters, very nice and great protection they cover the dead areas and have the scoops on the sides so water and mud dont run under the carpet.
  18. The 2013 Escape has been at the dealer now for 2 days. Working on resolving the rattles and vibrations coming from the dash and passengers front door. I will post with what they find and how they resolved the issue. They gave me a 2011 Ford Escape with 31K miles on it as a loaner. What a difference with comfort and drive quality, the 2013 far exceeds the older version. I have always like the older Escapes looks but this is the first time I have been inside one or driven one. It does feel like a tough little vehicle but it feels more like a truck, which is ok if that is the kind of drive you’re looking for.
  19. Actually I think the dealer did cause this. The bottom dashboard panel that meets up with the windshield was warped at purchase. The dealer attemped to fix it but the warp was so bad that they are having to order a new panel. It was after they messed with it that I started hearing all the noise. I am hopping the new panel will fix the problem but I am going to tell them I dont want the car back unless the rattles and rubbing noise is fixed, I dont care if it takes a week a month or a year.
  20. Only have 500 miles on my 2013 Ford escape and the more I drive it the more rattles and plastic on plastic vibrations coming from the dashboard areas. Does anyone else hear all that noise? It is more pronounsed between 45-55 mph. Starting to drive me crazy!
  21. Anyone know where to get after market seat covers? I have been googling the internet with little luck. Wondering if anyone knows of a local company that has made them. My Dealership said they use a local Leather guy that will make permenant custom leather seatcovers for half the price of the leather option and looks even better. you get to pick your colors and stitching. However, I have to work through the dealership to get to leather shop. I am not even sure I want leather but a nice, durable two town cloth would be nice.
  22. I dont understand why the dealerships just does not say that then unstead of "well go buy a new phone and see if it works". It just seems that Ford Dealerships are great at knowing the vehicles mechanics but when it comes to the Ford Sync and MyFord Touch they just shrug. They need to have a full time computer geek onsite.
  23. Stupid Sync and stupid Ford Dealerships. Went to dealer with warranty issues. Told them that Sync Services was not working correctly. Would only connect 1 out of 20 or 30 try’s. They Told me that I needed to get a new phone and handed me a list of compatible phones. The problem is that the list has no column for "Sync Services" compatiblity. My phone syncs fine, even text messaging works. The only thing I have problems with is connecting to sync services. When I called Sync Service tech support they said it should work, it is just calling a number and if you can make a phone call then you should be able to call the number for sync services. No %$%^*& that’s what I am asking support, why is it having such a hard time connecting if it’s just calling a number? They act like it’s a problem they have never heard about but on Ford owner to owner forum it’s full of people having the same issue and Ford refuses to address it, instead customers are left floundering around. You get the same answers from everyone, reboot the phone, take battery out, Reboot the car system, and then finally when everything else fails, well just buy a new phone and see what happens. What a bunch of BS
  24. I drove both and preferred the 1.6. The 2.0 had a lag when you punch the gas. The 1.6 did not do that. I test drove the 2.0 first and one of the first things we did is jump on the highway. When I punched the gas to merge there was a ½ second lag, it was kind of scary. Mentioned this to the Sales guy and he said it was the turbo response. The 1.6 did not have the lag. Not sure why since they both have turbo. I ended up getting the 1.6 because the options really start to add up and I had to choose and I felt that the performance of the 1.6 was plenty adequate, however I can see the attraction on getting the bigger engine
