I received $1,050 yesterday as well. Disappointing that they set the new mileage so low, mostly for resale value I guess, but I carefully still have averaged 42.4 mpg lifetime on my 13 mkz Hybrid. I thought the $1,050 was fair since if I had seen 38mpg at the time I bought the car, I likely would have chosen another model.

It looks the same except for those silly looking lines on the seats.

MT First Test: '14 MKZ Hybrid
xgman replied to jesster1228's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
I wish more Hybrid models would enter the marketplace. Have you seen the gas prices this week? They ain't going down! Truth is we are still a long way from high mileage for really nice cars. It doesn't have to be that way. -
The side mirror and all around lights are pretty nice in that video if they make it into production for a change. another pic: http://www.themotorreport.com.au/content/image/l/i/lincoln_mkx_suv_concept_06_1-0421-450x240.jpg

MT First Test: '14 MKZ Hybrid
xgman replied to jesster1228's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
Ain't NO way (in real world testing) except if done under some tightly controlled and short term specifics using summer gas blends. The car can do this if you force your speed to comply with when the battery kicks in for a while, but only on very limited circumstances. In long term "careful" driving, it is more like 42mpg long term average. And even that lends itself to cars passing you in disgust of how slow you are driving. -
13 mkx Ambient Lighting color reverts to white
xgman replied to xgman's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
Software glitches seem to be the last thing they think to fix on new cars. -
About once a week my ambient lighting reverts to white. When I go to reset, it still is on red but rotates then to white. lasts about a week. Some say it may be tied to low battery or issue with window auto up not working always? I have seen others say this issue is present on another forum. Does anyone here have this? Any known fix? I have had the latest service patch and no change.

Heated wheel stopped working
xgman replied to Ghostrider009's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
maybe, but more likely a fuse or relay or something else. -
Yes, same here. Just hate to see my lifetime drop. 42.9-8-7-6-5-4-3 . . . . argghhh!

curb cutter . . .

anyone else noticed a larger drop in mileage lately? Mine is a 13' hybrid version, but as soon as the winter gas mixture kicked in it dropped and then when the weather turned real cold here in the east, it dive bombed. Running anything to do with heat, (heater, seats, steering wheel) just like running the AC, seems to make it hurt worse too. I'm talking several ,pg compared to spring/summer/fall. Ouch!

MKZ Cool feature - automatically goes into Park...
xgman replied to entropy's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
So why not add this in all Ford cars? I suppose that some people forget to push a "P" button? -
MKZ Cool feature - automatically goes into Park...
xgman replied to entropy's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
I have to disagree, This can't be any good for the transmission and I've been driving since 1970 and have never come close to accidentally leaving it in gear when opening the door and getting out of it. Anyway, I still hate it. -
I'm in my 30's age-wise and just placed an order on an MKZ, and absolutely feel that it's worth the premium over the Fusion and that reviewers are just in an echo chamber of reviewer conventional wisdom. And that's after also test driving an ATS, CTS-V, ES, and Verano Turbo. Why is it worth the premium? Very simply, here's why: I have a very simple reason why it is worth the premium to me. I DON"T LIKE THE FUSION AND WAS NEVER IN THE MARKET FOR ONE TO BEGIN WITH. I don't want to compare one or drive one or sit in one. It was never on my radar as a choice. WHY MUST THEY TRY TO FORCE THIS CHOICE ON ME? Just because they are both under the Ford umbrella? It's ridiculous!

MKZ Cool feature - automatically goes into Park...

Slamming the car into park is a bad idea no matter what the reason period. No other car I know does this. -
Map very slow to draw since update?
xgman replied to xgman's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
ouch .. . anyway, the processor in the nav must be severely underpowered. It's embarrassing really. -
MKZ Cool feature - automatically goes into Park...
xgman replied to entropy's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
I absolutely HATE THIS! If I'm trying to park in the garage and open the door without my seat belt on so I can lean out the door and look at where my wheels are, it slams ungracefully into park like hitting a wall. Can't be too good fro the transmission. If you leave your seat belt on it doesn't do that but it's hard to lean out the door to watch your parking in a garage when your seat belt is on. Seems like this is the only car that does this. Don't like it one bit. -
The Car Connection Reviews the MKZ
xgman replied to silvrsvt's topic in Lincoln Motor Company Discussion
Exactly! -
Maybe it's just me, but I notice lately the map is so sluggish to draw and re-draw and very jittery on the road. Anyone else see this?
-
Mostly disagree.

Horrible review. Again with the Fusion crap. If I wanted a Fusion, I would have bought one. Why do people insist on comparing apples to oranges? Anyway, all the Lincoln haters seem to hang out at that site.
