  1. We bought our escape from the same dealer that I bought my Corvette from a few weeks prior, it happened to be a ford dealer in Michigan that does a high volume of used Corvette and sports car sales. Wasn't going back 5 hours for a free oil change :D
  2. Just did my first change at 7664 miles. I should have paid someone to do it... the oil filter is in a next to impossible spot on the 1.6L and the factory must have paid a gorilla to put it on. Our MPG sucks too. Seems to be a common Ford theme these days.
  3. Our mileage is terrible too. 1.6 AWD. 6700 miles. She drives it 20 minutes to work every day via the highway and we average around 21mpg every time we fill up. Even on long highway trips we are in the 23-24mpg range at normal (70-75) speeds. We take my Corvette on long trips now, I can pull 28mpg@80mph easily.
  4. Ah yes holding ok on that screen resets everything. That was one of the fiancées complaints before
  5. We were able to put 3.6 gallons in the escape. Full gauge now. Dealer must have stopped short. Oh well. New quadrant info screen is nice will post pic later
  6. She said the fuel gauge seems to be off. Dealer said they filled it up and she's saying its showing 3/4 tank although the distance to empty is showing just over 300 which is usually does on a full tank. Will look at it tonight and see if there's an issue.
  7. Our dealer has been great so far. They said they had it washed and fuel topped off waiting. She is almost there so we will see.
  8. We got the call. Fiancee is picking ours up in 20 minutes.
  9. Gas mileage on our 1.6 isn't much better
  10. I hope. I will gladly take an exact model as what we have with the 2.0.
  11. It's been a week now with our Hyundai Tucson from enterprise. We hate it more every day
  12. Day 6.... 24 days left until PA Lemon Law comes into play.
  13. I don't think we are in a bad spot. Either Ford will get it fixed or is going to have to take care of us.
  14. Wow maybe I should call and complain to the ford 800 number, the Tucson they gave us from enterprise isn't bad but it makes us miss the escape a lot. The wife hates it with everything she has. If we're going to be in this for a while I'm going to be upset
  15. If only I could go back a few months. I opted for the 1.6 since it was her mainly driving it and picked it for the extra couple MPG. Maybe they won't find a suitable fix and can offer us a 2.0 in its place.
  16. I wasn't, I'm a GM guy... His & Hers http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii196/SK360_PGH/Mobile/newstuff/1398398E-7122-4EA0-9018-71FC21EB2BBA-5234-00000201B28A8E6E.jpg She was loyal but she hates this Hyundai rental so much that its tainting her, right or wrong.
  17. I wanted to look at the competition before buying our 2013 escape but the fiancée has had 3 prior to this and liked the new one once we drove it. She agrees with me now, we will be looking elsewhere when the times comes again.
  18. We were positive on Saturday when we gave the escape to the dealer and got put in another mid size crossover. We are not positive anymore after driving this Hyundai Tucson for the weekend, we are not positive after sending in the check for the car payment on the Escape and having a car worth $13,000 less in the garage. This sucks.
  19. Upgraded and reported successful install ok. But then we had to take our car to the dealer for an unknown length of time and drive a Hyundai instead
  20. We are currently displaced of our 1.6L escape. We got put in a 2012 Hyundai Tucson. While not a bad vehicle it's certainly not as nice as our escape, the wife absolutely despises it. While we make payments on a $32,000 vehicle we are stuck in a $22,000 hyundai. The guy at enterprise told us pets weren't allowed in their vehicle, I said ford took our only vehicle that can carry our dog to the vet away from us, the dog will be going in their vehicle if she needs to. They can work that out with ford if its not to their liking. Honestly if they want to buy back the 1.6's and give us a 2.0 that would be great, should have ordered a 2.0 like I wanted to but figured the wife drives it 90% of the time we will go for the extra MPG (which sucks anyway)
  21. Really wish we would have opted for the 2.0L Perhaps they won't be able to fix the 1.6 and 2.0 replacements will be offered
  22. Hopefully the 2014 won't catch on fire...
  23. Enterprise put us in a 2012 Hyundai Tuscon. Not a bad compromise.
