  1. I didn't see anythng on the dealer portal yesterday but ill check again edit - nothing as of 2/8; dont think its true, as illustrated by SmSgt MKZ being shipped (check tracker thread)
  2. Not sure yet, haven't got in the mail ...ill let you guy know when I receive
  3. Those that lease? This is a customer appreciation gift for pre-orders..maybe the title of the thread wasn't specific enough haha
  4. tons and tons of looks, stares, comments. all positive of course. especially driving around Ford WHQ...lots of co-workers rubber necking. I havent seen a single MKZ in the lot yet. I did see a pre-production model pull out of the executive garage recently, but none anywhere else.
  5. no other incentives for the delay; however, my dealer called me the other day and said he had a "suprise" for me. I am too busy to get there during the week, so asked him to send me the suprise. I think this is unrelated to the gift card, but probably related to the dealer payment that was just was announced, which Ford advised they should pass down to the customer. Not sure what it will be..probably some nonimal gift (like all weather mats for instance)
  6. unfortunately the lincoln customer service reps only have access to the vehicle visiblity report...the same one that is being updated in this thread. When my car was stuck at the railyard waiting to be offloaded I called them on a lark, and they admitted they were just referencing the same information I had access to on the visiblity report. o well...you should be fine with upates on mon/wed/friday of each week. call customer care more frequently if you want, but I think you will just drive yourself crazy...i know I did (tracking the vehicle two /three times per day)
  7. just read a dealer bulletin. Theyre being sent out today, to arrive tommorow. All pre-orders...1,062 people
  8. Wow the MKZ hybird is fantastic! I'm having so much fun learning all the smart eco gauge features. I averaged 39MPG on the way into work today! And its 30 degrees in michigan and the car isnt even broken in yet...I cant wait until the summer time. Also, I noticed something neat last night...I traveled an hour home at night from school (take classes at UofM ann arbor in the evening), and despite driving almost 80mph, I used eco cruise control on the way home, and I averaged just under 35 mpg! It really is an awesome feature. Even though the car isnt traveling in electric mode (maxed at 62pmh) the car still conserves energy and applies minimal acceleration to maintain speed. No incentives for those that were curious.
  9. Here it is!!! http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u562/markd4864/Troy-20130204-00023_zps2ae18ad3.jpg http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u562/markd4864/Troy-20130204-00022_zps9c075a6b.jpg I snapped those quickly after going through the Sync demonstration, which took for ever!! i would have snapped more, but my fiance was getting impatient haha. I'll post my thoughts on the hybird in the coming weeks!
  10. Not sure why you dont have an ETA yet xgman, but I would hang tight ...all of you guys have the same priority code in the system ..."1" which is the highest. Parenthetically, JJBLKB has a priority code "10", not sure why...but likely is the reason his car isnt in production yet.
  11. yeah i have tried the "my media" in past, and the search does not return any results. What are you suppose to search for a file name? location? I assumed this function wasnt operational and there was another way to upload...I have a few pics of a couple pre-production models that were displayed at WHQ i wanted to share, but wasnt able too when I attempted some time back
  12. My window sticker doesn't have an asterik next to the maintenance plan. Interesting...I'm A-plan too. I wonder if they changed policies (my sticker was generated a month or longer ago). On another note. My car is here! Picking up later tonight.I'll be sure to post pics...that is, if I can figure out how to upload images. Anyone know how to attach an image?
  13. Unfortunately the cars arent being shipped with CSX...at least of the none of the more than two dozen ive browsed. Their being shipped by either Union Pacific (1st carrier) or Northfolk Southern (2nd carrier if applicable). I know that Northfolk does not have an automated tracker any longer...but, Im not sure about Union Pacific
  14. yeah i converted the dealer stock to retail on 12/27 and am eligible. if you didnt receive any materials in the mail it may be because your dealer didnt upload your info into the system yet...which wouldnt preclude you from receiving the gift if you ordered in time. they contact people after they take delivery, but you could always follow up too. the prgm ran through 1/3
  15. No status on the car that's why I'm frusterated...its late! On the article really not a big deal. There was someone who posted an article on a dealer that spent millions on his dealership awaiting the arrival of the nkz in novemeber. I'm sure he doesn't have to clear these comments with ford media relation...as kevin probably doesn't either, but still they don't seem like good press and probably don't promote the brand in the most positive way.
  16. im sorry i seemed annoyed in my post i thought i read your dealer shared the bulletin with you. in which case, it seemed unusual for you to introduce more ambiguity. i am bit frusterated too, so maybe my post shared that tone. excuse me! the article didnt quote the vp, but rather said ( im paraphrasing) ...as written by Ken in the memo. not a direct quote. ken didnt provide that to autonews but rather to dealers in his memo. which kevin shared with a journalist.
  17. I wouldnt be suprised if top lincoln brass thought it was in bad taste to provide an internal ford dealer bulletin to autonews. I wonder if your rep Kevin can get in trouble for providing that info to a journalist! : ) it seems as though lincoln would try and minimize the conversation in the media about quality issues / inspections.
  18. Are you womdering if the preorders are affected by the final inspection? Didnt your sales rep read the 25th bulletin (referenced in the article) to you directly? did he read the part about their intention to perform the final inspection in mexico for preorders? Also, did you read my excerpt of the bulletin in the mkz update thread which directly addresses this question ?
  19. Your ETA is the 18th buddy... rest easy (check the tracker thread)
  20. My cars ETA is Feb1. tmrw! I am hoping it gets offloaded tmrw so I can pick up on Saturday. It is currently at the last rail yard on the trip ... I'll post pics but if anyone wants to check out the specs - http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=3LN6L2LU9DR802530
  21. I went to the NAIAS media dress rehersal (day before press preview) for select employees and saw the Lincoln presentation including the MKC reveal. Jim Farley (global vp of lincoln) said 1,000 pre-orders of the MKZ in his remarks. Not sure the source of that information and I wouldnt know where to access that data.
  22. I'm feeling a bit frusterated too... but this purchase for me is more about towing the company line and driving what is probably the nicest sedan in the Ford/Lincoln lineup. I really dont have any other attractive options because I couldnt continue to drive my german luxury into the world headquarters daily. I heard Mullay speak earlier this morning at the employee earnings presentation and someone asked generally about the direction of Lincoln. Alan deferred to Jim Farley the new global VP for Lincoln. He said all the familiar things many of you have read about the new brand promise, but as he kept emphasizing the "experience" attributes of the product (mostly he was referencing the dealership experience), I couldnt help but think about the serious headwinds the company faces with these poor first impressions. 1,000 pre-orders anxiously awaiting the arrival of their cars. Many of whom have been utterly frusterated and dissapointed. I would have loved to ask some follow up questions of him on the launch issues but resisted the temptation. Were these quality issues related to production? our supplier base? were there flaws in the design phase?I'm referencing what many on this board and elsewhere identified as a roof leak issue, which could be a design or supplier related problem.
  23. I dont think there are any new build issues that recently came into the fray. My understanding from reading the dealer launch updates is that a final quality inspection was being done in Mexico for all the Jan builds, and then a bottlneck occurred whereby there were not able to keep up w/ the current production AND final quality inspect on-site. Hence, the reason for the diversion to Flat Rock for the final quality inspection...to get back on track for the upcoming production schedule and remove the backlog.
