  1. Mark, I've recieve information about the pre-order choices (hotel stay, etc) and also the nice poster looking through the pano roof, but still nothing on the VISA card. Any thoughts?
  2. This is something I just put together based on events and MKZtracker data
  3. I agree with Tanner that the order date is not much as a factor, but I do remember the day. I went the Tampa Int. Auto Show on 8 Dec 2012 to see it in person and loved it. Next day (9 Dec 2012) in the dealership and had it ordered. I haven't stated my date until now due to making some people upset that ordered their way before me and mine is already on its way.
  4. I haven't heard that about mine but I'm sure it is. Anyway, it's 265 miles traveling I94 from Markham, IL (Union Pacific stop) and Flat Rock, MI.
  5. Thanks for the assistance. Your right and I just looked at goggle earth for Markham, IL which is a huge cargo train station area. It should be there at 0945 on the 14th. My question is for far does it go before switching over to truck shipment? Does that happen in IL or does it take rail all the way into Tampa? We do have trains down here and it seems I hit it everytime at the train crossing. Also, I think it would need to go to Tucson, El Paso, TX, Santa Rosa NM, Witchita, KS, Kansas, MS, and IL according to the UP maps. EDIT: I'm going on a 12 hour call regiment for any updates on the way. I read the automated service gets updates as the railcar hits interchanges.
  6. The instructions are pretty great. Also, I've started an historical report on my car: 28 Jan 2013 / In Production Sent to Plant Ford Hermosillo Assembly, SO Jan-29-2013 TBD 29 Jan 2013 / In Production Sent to Plant Ford Hermosillo Assembly, SO Jan-29-2013 ETA Feb-25-2013 30 Jan 2013 / Window sticker; date at the bottom is 1/29/13 http://services.ford...N6L2LU0DR807602 6 Feb 2013 / Official build Date (ETIS) 7 Feb 2013 / 18:00 MT In Transit Shipped, Railcar #ETTX810011 (Hermosillo Assy) 8 Feb 2013 / 13:38 MT, arrived in Nogalas (Santa Cruz), Arizona 9 Feb 2013 / 6:06 MT, departure County Line, en Route to Markham, IL, ETA 14 Feb at 9:45 (Union Pacific) 9 Feb 2013 / 13:32MT, loaded and departed Carrizozo, NM, en Route to Markham, IL, ETA 14 Feb at 9:45 9 Feb 2013 / 15:49MT loaded and departed EFAW, NM, en Route to Markham, IL, ETA 14 Feb at 9:45 9 Feb 2013 / 20:02MT, arrived and loaded, Santa Rosa, NM, en Route to Markham, IL, ETA 14 Feb at 9:45 10 Feb 2013 / 05:23CST, arrived and loaded, Tyrone, OK, en Route to Markham, IL, ETA 14 Feb at 9:45 Updated information as of 10 Feb/0745
  7. I didn't get mine either, but the news our car is on rail is even better.
  8. What sucks is I don't see any railway heading directly East. It looks like it has to go all the way up and then back down towards FL. Wish they would put it on a truck right now. Also, the recording stated no ETA for destination, but didn't state the destination.
  9. I just found some instructions on how to track your car if you have the ETTX number (the rail car number). 1. Call CSX at 1-800-235-2352 2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location. 3. When prompted for the car initials, say ETTX then wait for the next prompt. OR key in 32-81-81-92 (for ETTX)(letter and position on your phone) 4. When prompted for the car number, say or key in your 6-digit ETTX car number 5. When prompted for next car say DONE. 6. That's it, enjoy your updated status report. My car arrived in Nogalas (Santa Cruz), Arizona at 1:38pm today
  10. Thanks and this is great news. I need to go back and find that ETTX tracker email, but I did find this. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3132615
  11. Not sure how this would apply in my case since I've already negotiated the final price.
  12. Especially since I sold our only car .. .lucky we have 2 harleys with saddlebags for grocery shopping
  13. You know what they say about assuming! Personally I don't think the dealer will honor the trade-in quote they gave you almost 3 months ago for a couple of reasons. First , auction prices change all the time and the longer it is, the less it becomes. The good news is that if you are still making payments, you are also lowering your pay off balance during this time frame. Your payment is less than the depreciation value, so it all works out. Now, if your car is paid off, that's a different story. I would try and sell it outright...you should make more money than the trade-in value. 18" and 19" could be considered low profile and if you are worried about pot-holes, I would get the wheel/tire insurance if they offer it. Another option is not to hit pot-holes
  14. Truthfully I don't even waste my time with this site. Completely useless to me especially when you have folks on this forum with better and more accurate info.
  15. Sometimes you can trade in your car early as long as a VIN has been assigned to a new car. I've done this in the past which allowed me to save payments and reduce the car sales tax. Balancing tax and profitability is the key when it comes to trading in or selling outright. For example, I just sold my 2011 Panamera today and the difference between trade in value and what I actually received was over $8K. If you can, always sell it outright as long as you profit over sales tax.
  16. Mark ... huge congrats and it looks great. BTW, if you think your finace is impatient now, just wait til the ring is on. I've been dealing with that for 25 years.
  17. Finally someone with a MKZ and what better person to get it first. Thanks for all your help and now go enjoy, after you load pics for us though... Upload them to photobucket.com and then send us a link
  18. Even cop cars have illegal tint here in FL. I even tint the front window to cut down on heat/glare.
  19. Loos like a 1 FEB 13 build ... congrats
  20. Congrats ... BTW, we lived just North of you in Yuba City for 5 years when I was in the USAF.
  21. The dealer might have something as an extra cost, but for me I like Lexol. I used this stuff on all my cars ... little pricy but worth it to me.
  22. So the rest of us then should get more incentives than those in CA, AZ, NM, TX, and NV. How about a $500 Visa Card for us unlucky losers.
  23. Excellent choice ... pretty much the same as mine, but I like to pick out my own 19-20" wheels. Therefore, I went with the reserve package.
  24. It's good to know we all now have stickers and see light at the end of the tunnel. For me, I just hope whomever is the highest Ebay bidder on our current car is not just a tire kicker and really plans on buying it. Once this step is complete, then I will be even more excited and impatient about our MKZ.
  25. Tanner, Check out the attachment ... I've heard this is the build day and it does coincide with the data MKZTracker has provided.
