  1. Just got my estimate on the front end. (Pickup with trailer hitch backed into me). Front bumper cover and Chrome grill surround. The grill itself is untouched. Ford estimate $1657. It will go up another 142 IF the isolatore underneath is damaged.. I put my estimate on this one at $2500.
  2. I'm sure your probably right. The cooling system for the HVB. That makes much more sense than the fuel pump. It doesn't always run, just like jeff_h says his does. I'm still getting used to all of the new noises and nuances of my first Hybrid. Question answered. Its fantastic to have a forum like this to answer our questions.
  3. I have noticed that after I shut down the car for the night and come back the next day, the Battery level seems much lower than when I shut down, like there is a drain on the system somewhere. Well today I noticed a humming noise from the rear of the car after getting out. I got down on the ground at the rear of the car and it is coming from in front of the muffler and rear axle. I assume it is the fuel pump continuing to run after shutdown. It goes on for a good 5 minutes before stopping. Any ideas if this is really what is happening and WHY?
  4. Looks like your driving the GW Parkway around Arlington Cemetary. I lived in Annandale back in the mid 70's and my wife and I used to like to hike Roosevelt Island. Interesting place that was off the the beaten path.
  5. The quality of my paint job (blemish and orange peel) is acceptable. Not perfectly "glass like". But I don't really expect it to be. The only thing that bothers me is that the front bumper is not an exact match colorwise to the rest of the car. Mine is Ruby Red, and the front bumper is slightly lighter than the rest of the car. Not as noticable in bright sunlight, but in a lighted garage or cloudy day it is definately noticable. Anybody else see a difference in the front bumper to the rest of the car?
  6. huh?? What are you asking??
  7. Took mine in this morning for the clicking sound. Don't expect to get it "fixed", but I thought I'd let them give it a try. At least I'll have mine on record as having the problem. Maybe it will help if we keep adding to the numbers to get Ford's attention. Love the car, clicking a little annoying, just hope they find a fix soon.

  10. Strange new development. Still not having a specific delivery date on my new FFH (going on 4 months) I went into the dealer today to discuss the expiring incentives taking place 4/1. I wanted to try to lock in the $500 Cash Back. I already got them to agree to the $750 Private offer I got thru the mail back in late Feb. Well after some discussion with the salesman and the sales manager, they assured me that they would "make me happy" but never got them to formally lock in the $500 incentive. Then it got interesting. I told them about my conversations with the Ford Regional Service Manager and they were interested to find out how this works out, because they have not been able to get much done. I was starting to leave and the sales manager said, "Isn't yours a red hybrid with dune leather" and I said yes. He then asked, " did you check out the red one on the lot. It was delivered from the local Auto Show last week." I went out with the salesman and lo and behold, this one has every option I had ordered with the exception of the dealer installs. This car was built 2/6 and mine was built 2/19. Needless to say, I signed the papers then and there. I'll be picking it up either Saturday or Monday after they add the window tint and stainless door plates.
  11. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one confused.
  12. The "Retail Customer Cash" has a different Program number than "Cash Back". I believe these are two different offers. The $1500 on the Retail Customer Cash is not the same $1500 for the standard fusion. The Cash Back is under Retail Offers and the Retail Cash Customer is under Finance Programs. They are not the same.
  13. OK. I've seen several other threads on the subject, but didn't want to hijack with a some different questions. 1. Expired Coupons: I know there are different situations for different parts of the country. In my area I received (thru snail mail) a $750 coupon that expired 3/4/13 and was good for Fusion Hybrids. I ordered a Fusion Hybrid 12/18/12 and the car was built 2/19/13. Its been sitting on the lot in Mexico ever since (but that's another story). Before it expired I called the dealer and they agreed to honor the coupon. Seems like I'm safe on this coupon since it says "Use this offer over and above any other public offers". 2. $500 Cash Back: I've read on other posts that I can "lock in" the $500 cash back that expires April 1. Some say that you can lock in then take the new offer if it is better. Some think that the cash back offer will be dropped due to the high sales of the new Fusions. Question is: Can you lock in the $500 cash back. And if so can you take the post April offer IF it is larger? 3. $1500 Retail Customer Cash: This one I can't figure out. I can't find any details of what this means on the Ford Web site. All I see is "contact dealer for details". Is this a cash back offer for a customer paying cash for the car and not taking financing, which I am doing? If this is the case, can it be combined with the other offers? Again this offer expires 4/1 so can I get it locked in also? Hopefully all will apply. That would be great to get total of $2750 in incentives. I'm going to visit the dealer later this week. Any info would be appreciated.
  14. Mine is a retail order. Its was ordered 12/18/12 and built 2/19/13. Its been sitting on the lot in Mexico since 2/20, with no action at all until I contacted Customer Service and finally got the regional CSM to place a case number and priority on the VIN. I'll see this week IF it finally gets loaded on the train, but I find it hard to believe that "Retail 2013 Fusions were put on priority several weeks ago". If thats the case why is my order still sitting on the lot 5 weeks after it was built?????
  15. The regional CSM did call me back yesterday. Said the car is still on the lot in Mexico, but that he did put a priority on the VIN and is trying to get it loaded this week, Said he'll call me back Thursday or sooner if he gets any new information. I see that some of the Titaniums and Energies are getting loaded only a few days after build, so hopefully they are catching up. I'm betting on mine being here around mid April. That will be 4 months.

  17. Still waiting. Finally called Ford Customer Service and got a Case # assigned for the regional customer service rep. He called me a couple of days later and now I'm supposed to hear something this coming Monday. That will be the 14th week since order. Who Knows??

  20. murphy62, No it doesn't. The heading in the selection pulldowns lets you select the Fusion Hybrid, but if you download either 1st or 2nd printing, they are for the standard gasoline engines, not the Hybrid. You have to go to the Motorcraft site to get the actual Hybrid manual.
  21. Ordered 12/18/12. Built 2/19/13. Awaiting shipment since 2/20/13.
  22. The Ford.com site does not have the specific Hybrid manual. I registered with my VIN and the manuals are for the Fusion, but NOT the Hybrid version. The Motocraftservice.com site DOES have the Fusion Hybrid manual
  23. Hey! Bucy919, I am waiting for delivery of my new FFH SE, and reading all I can about the new car. One question for you. I know you have to remove the large shield under the engine to get to the filter. As I understand it points down, so you would have to grab the filter from the side using the ChannelLocks you have. I already have a pair for my Honda GoldWing. So the question - Is there much room to get the handles in to grab the filter or do you have to come in at an angle? (which is what I expect). In orther words, is it tight?
  24. Eagerly awaining my new Hybrid. Just wondering? How many of you drive carefully to break in the new engine. I read in the manual online (although its not for the Hybrid) that the break in period is 1000 miles. I assume for the hybrid, this would be ICE miles. I would like to take a trip to see my son (lives 400 miles away) but it might take awhile and be frustrating if I had to vary the speed constantly up and back.
  25. I know that have a longer life due to the regerative braking, but they still get used and I hate to look at the dusty wheels they generate, and the extra cleaning you have to due just due to the materials used to make the pads. I changed to ceramics on my wife's Subaru WRX and the wheels stay clean.
