  1. We ordered our Fusion Hybrid. The dealer we went to sells any cars that are factory order at invoice price, no haggling needed. It was a great deal and then my parents later on ordered their C-Max Energi from the same salesman, also sold at invoice price. Check out my signature below for exactly how long it took, both vehicles took less than 2 months. One potential concern is allocation. If a certain dealer is out of allocation for the car you want then they can't order it for you. My parents discovered this when shopping for their C-Max Energi.
  2. Thanks Jeff, it looks like Tuxedo Black in some light
  3. I'm curious if anyone knows of any video showing production of the C-Max or the Fusion from Flat Rock or Hermosillo. After watching a couple videos about the Tesla factory I'm curious about Ford's production lines. Thanks!
  4. Have you brought it back to the dealer to have them fix it?
  5. Bearcats is right. Take it back to the dealer and they should fix it. That's unacceptable.
  6. I wonder though if you wouldn't get a better response from Ford showing some goodwill and doing their mediation instead of going through lemon law.
  7. You can find the OM online on the Ford Owner site when you login. Or if you can't get to that then PM me and I can send you the PDF copy so you can see the info.
  8. Nick, check out the "Customer Assistance" section in your Owner's Manual about issues. In the FFH manual this begins on page 226. It shows a 3 step process, 1) Service Advisor, 2) Dealership Service Manager, 3) Ford Customer Relationship Center. If you issues are still not resolved after these steps then you contact the BBB AUTO LINE Program which Ford uses for mediation/arbitration to resolve issues. From other experiences of owners who have had their Fusions replaced by Ford they've found Ford very willing to work with them to replace their vehicle without involving lawyers and Lemon Law claims because that costs Ford more money that working directly with the customer to replace their vehicle. I'd suggest you follow the steps in the OM before spending money on a lawyer.
  9. Can I have your Energi then?? :p
  10. I believe in MN each particular octane has to have a sticker indicating ethanol content. I agree about increased MPGs offsetting the cost of premium, it's just hard to scientifically measure. Is the 18 miles away station one that sells no ethanol 87 octane?
  11. I was going to say the same thing about ethanol content. Typically in MN most gas stations sell 91+ octane with 0% ethanol, versus 10% ethanol in 87 & 89 octane. I've tried using 89 octane a number of times when it's the same price as 87 and have noticed no difference. If the octane were really a factor then 89 octane with the same ethanol content as 87 octane should have led to higher MPGs. On the C-Max Hybrid Forum there has been discussion about this with some testifying to similar results as what you posted above.
  12. Not all of them have distortion. We have no distortion on our car. It seems that only a small percentage have distortion.
  13. Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. Nick - I hope the updates Ford will be doing to the hybrid system will fix your poor mileage.
  14. Very interesting to see the breakdown on what's going to be produced at FRAP as needed. Also cool to know that the cooled seats "late availability" option means November production and possibly December delivery if ordered now. Too bad we already have a 2013 or we'd buy a 2014 SE with push button start and possibly with cooled seats too! Or perhaps a Titanium, that would be the hardest part of the decision. I also hope the hybrid sales pick up with the announcement today about improved fuel economy. I'd love to see the hybrid compose 50% of Fusion sales or more. I don't understand why more people don't buy the hybrid.
  15. Thanks for providing this service cyberdman. My parents picked up their Energi on the 27th and love it
  16. Etis indicates that the car was actually built on the 14th. I'm hoping that you are able to see transit information now and share that with us. Please check on VIN 1FADP5CU1DL543747 Thank you!
  17. Thanks!! Can't wait to see this. Have a safe trip!
  18. This sounds like it defies the laws of physics. Please take a video of this so that we can try to duplicate it. We are about to be taking a 5000+ mile road trip where we will be driving through the Canadian Rockies and would love to be able to use as many tricks as possible to save gas
  19. I agree with the ones listed above. Especially the moonroof buttons! It's so annoying to have to close it first and then press a second button to go from open to vent or vice versa. I also wish the Fusion came in the hatchback design of the Modeo in Europe. Especially for the Energi. The 10-way power pass seat is coming for 2014 Fascinating about the gauges. I also wish we had more customization. I wish we could have multiple "MyView" screens instead of just one and that we could put car data on both the left and right screens.
  20. Hoping that the car was built today and that you can provide confirmation of that. 1FADP5CU1DL543747 Thank you!
  21. There has been extensive discussion about this on the Fusion Hybrid Forum. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6561-1000-mile-mpg-challenge/ http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6055-mpg-happy-talk/ These are just some examples. There is a wide variation in MPG results depending on both individual driving styles and external factors such as speed, length of trips, temperature, wind, A/C use, etc.
  22. Yeah, it's rather annoying. I'll usually just wait for the other person to back up or go around when they're too dumb to realize that your turn signal and brake lights when on in the middle of the block indicate that you're parking. I think part of the issue is that so many ppl don't bother to use their turn signals when parking. Even when I'm not parallel parking and just pulling in to the curb I make sure to use my turn signal if others are around so they know why I'm slowing down in the middle of the road. It's so annoying when you're driving behind someone down the street and they all of a sudden hit the brakes and pull in to park without signaling. It's especially annoying in the hybrid because it hurts my brake score and wastes energy that I could have otherwise recaptured through regenerative braking
  23. I agree on the lights, on our previous Honda Accord Hybrid we could just leave the lights in the on position, it would ding at us, but as soon as we locked the car the lights would shut off. In the FFH the lights stay on longer so I haven't tried leaving them on and waiting to see how much battery they drain before shutting off. Also agree on the TPMS. If it showed actual numbers we wouldn't need to check our tire pressure as often because we could see the numbers. Nissan has done this since 2005 as my parents have it in their Murano so by now the sensors to do this should be relatively inexpensive. Agree! At the very least make DRLs a feature that are on when headlights are set to "auto" and no DRLs when headlights set to "off" like Toyota does. It is disappointing that there are no DRLs except on fleet orders or Canadian orders. I live in Minneapolis too and often am parallel parking in the city. I know exactly what you mean about how many drivers pay no attention and pull right up on your bumper even when you put your turn signal on and stop. It's especially bad on busy streets like Bloomington or Chicago, or anywhere in Uptown... I agree. When we bought our FFH we immediately bought the Ford all-weather floor mats to use for winter and the carpet ones for summer. We are very disappointed that the all-weather floor mats don't protect the carpet very well. For next winter we will be buying some Husky or WeatherTech mats because those do go up all the way under the pedals.
  24. Do you mean a port to charge the battery or a power outlet where you can plug in 110V accessories?
  25. Based on your test drive results you probably will. We got about 46 MPG when doing a 80 mile or so test drive last October before we ordered our car and in similar weather now we're seeing 50 MPG because now we know how to drive better to maximize the efficiency of the FFH. Over time we've really learned how the computer is programmed in the FFH and now I try to use that knowledge to my advantage because I can see the upcoming road conditions and manipulate how I drive to make the computer do what I want. This leads to maximum MPGs This thread at the FFH Forum has some good links to information that you might find very helpful
