  1. What does your dealer say about this?
  2. Is the car still covered under the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty? You said it only has 28k miles so I'm wondering if it is... If it's under warranty you can just take it to the dealership to get it fixed for free.
  3. Ford sent me a $750 coupon today. It didn't come with a brochure, but rather as its own mailing. The mailer was bright orange & says, "Find out what all the talk is about...". The other side says, "Now the best-selling auto brand, Ford, comes with up to $750 in Private Cash." Inside there are 5 vehicles advertised: Fiesta, Focus (but no mention of the Focus Electric), C-Max Hybrid/Energi, Fusion/Fusion Hybrid/Fusion Energi & Escape. The fine print says that it's only good for $500 on Fiesta/Focus, but $750 on other Ford vehicles. It expires 10/31/15.
  4. Picture? We have nothing of the sort in our car AKAIK. A picture would help immensely to know what you're talking about.
  5. I'll keep an eye on this for our cars. I use White Lithium Grease on the moving parts regularly.
  6. I was just about to post a link to this thread. Thanks hybrider!!!
  7. The technology was truly amazing when it came out in late 2012 and the Fusion was the only midsize sedan to offer all of those features. The hybrid & plug-in hybrid technology is also very impressive. I'd definitely encourage you to check out those options as well. With the tax credit for the PHEV version (Fusion Energi) it can come out cheaper than the hybrid and you can save a ton of money on gas.
  8. The hybrid allows you to display fuel economy data on the right dash screen starting with MY2015. This is something we clamored for since the 2013s first came out in late 2012 and Ford finally listened. Same is true of user adjustable DRLs.
  9. I think emissions components have a longer warranty, I would take it to the dealer that you trust.
  10. I agree. Get the Fusion Energi. Are you factoring the tax credit into your final cost calculations? What about the gas savings from the Fusion Energi in the long run? Have you compared the insurance costs?
  11. I'd strongly recommend the Fusion Hybrid. You can get one that's pretty loaded for under $30k and you'll save lots on gas in the long run.
  12. Not sure why there would be a USB cable... But I think akirby is right about the harness. The Sony audio has a box mounted on the side of the trunk.
  13. Wow!! One concern I always have with doing any mods is what happens if your car is totalled? Will your insurance company reimburse you for all the mods you did?
  14. Sorry to hear about your accident! Will you be working with your insurance company or the taxi's insurance company?
  15. The Fusion & MKZ share a platform. This is a higher value platform designed to appeal to more expensive market segment. The C-Max is built on the Focus platform. The Focus is designed to be a vehicle for budget conscious consumers with a much lower cost. Thus the Focus/C-Max don't offer a number of features that are available on the Fusion/MKZ. Additionally, there are features that the Focus/C-Max platform includes which are not included in the Fusion/MKZ, such as ambient lighting at a lower trim level. It's all based on which features Ford feels are attractive to the specific segment to which each vehicle is marketed.
  16. This week's Car Talk column shows the potential issues that come with changing oil yourself, even with good records. This is the concern nowadays. I feel bad for this poor woman & her husband. I hope Ford will fix their car and stop giving them grief over it.
  17. The Energi SE has the Titanium tail lights. It appears to be the only non-Titanium to have those tail lights. I found a great way to swap them, check out this post.
  18. We have occasional issues. It seems like it sometimes thinks a stationary object is moving. It will also detect pedestrians in parking lots & go off sometimes.
  19. Our Fusion Energi has an IOLM (Intelligent Oil Life Monitor). Right now we've driven about 8500 miles total, with about 6000 of them being with the ICE running and the car indicates that we have about 60% oil life remaining. Since the only time we run the ICE is on the freeway the miles are easy on the oil.
  20. That's who I've used to shop prices. Anderson-Koch Ford right here in MN also sells the Ford ESP at a small margin like Flood Ford. I believe the increase is only $30 if you buy after 12 months/12k miles.
  21. We're thinking about buying the PremiumCARE ESP for our Energi. However, we're going to wait until 35 months or 35,500 miles and then decide, based on if we expect to actually keep the car through the end of the extended warranty period. I studied Risk Management in college so I have a thorough understanding of how insurance works, and this is essentially insurance. But, sometimes the peace of mind is nice to have even though you expect to lose money. There's also the Risk Aversion factor. The more risk averse you are the higher the value placed on the peace of mind offered by insurance. I think we'd also end up using it for a bunch of little things rather than big things, that's why I'd pick the PremiumCARE which effectively extends the bumper-to-bumper warranty with a $0 deductible. The hybrid components are covered 8 yrs/100k miles so they wouldn't be effected by a PremiumCARE ESP, the powertrain is covered 5/60 so its extension by the ESP wouldn't be that great. Plus, with an Energi vehicle the ICE is hardly used so it isn't likely to have problems.
  22. Please let us know what happens. Other users have had this issue, but they've always had it repaired right at the time of delivery, not months later.
  23. It's been reported that this material is for sound deadening. Perhaps the leaves will come off better once they dry out. We do not have any leaves that have permanently adhered to ours on either the Fusion Energi or the Focus Electric.
