  1. There has been extended coverage on the fordfusionhybridforum.com on this topic. It seems that a "hard reset" helps to "reprogram" the mapping tables after the update in case the MPG have taken a hit. There have been a few owners that have reported the best mileage since getting their cars over 10.000 miles ago. Here is a link to a new and still short thread with a HowTo on the second post. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7531-battery-disconnect-fix/
  2. We have guinea pig tester thread on the FFHForum check it out. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7238-ford-fuel-efficiency-update-guinea-pig-testers/page-7?do=findComment&comment=62332 I had mine done this morning and so far I'm very satisfied but I didn't have much to gain either. It would be really nice to see an improvement on your car nmadole!
  3. I was really temped to go to the Chicago event today after seeing your post but I couldn't carve out the time. Locks like a lot of people! Did you do the hyper-mile challenge? If yes how did you do and did you learn something new?
  4. I had the same issue with Pink Flyod - The Wall it kept playing CD1 track 1 >> CD2 track 1 >> CD1 track 2 Track / file named according to the CD side 1-01, 1-02 etc. 2-01, 2-02 etc. But the key is the actual track number. (# under properties of the file) I simply changed # for side 2 to from 1 > 201, 2 > 202 and now it's playing all tracks on in the correct order. Otherwise the suggestion about the iTunes tool from the syncmyride site works for missing tag informations very well.
  5. Hey fuss; great summary I hope you don't mind that I posted your write up on the Fusion Hybrid forum. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Depends on a lot of factors driving style; weather; speed limits; driving conditions. But check out the fordfusionhybridforum there are a lot of great tips on how you can improve your gas mileage. But I agree with the previous post most important slow down; drive very constant and use the ECO cruise control as much as possible. If your are traveling highway keep it above 63 MPH if the speed limit allows that seems to return the best mileage since the HVB stays charged and the ICE only needs to propel the car. Most importantly enjoy the ride its way too nice than too worry about 2, 3 miles more per gallon. I just drove from Chicago to LA and I would guess I averaged around 38 MPG on this trip. Which I consider pretty good even being so far away from EPA estimate because the EPA test cycle has almost nothing to do with real world driving. And for the record the more mixed driving you do the closer you get to EPA. Here is one example from this morning in LA morning traffic.
  7. I used paint.net works very well. First resize the picture to 800x (what ever it picks). Then change the canvas size to 800x384 you can pick the fix location so that it cuts top and bottom equally or just the top or just the bottom.
  8. There are two pages on the FFH forum about ambient lighting. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6321-ambient-lighting/page-2?do=findComment&comment=49654
  9. @ captinkirk If you drive like the average Chicagoan I'm not surprised that you are unhappy with your mpg. In addition to that you seem to be a person with a very short temper. Just read you posts regarding your delivery again and how you talked to cyberdman a guy trying the best he can to fill the information gap created by some dealers. There used to be another very similar personality on the FFH forum he finally cut his losses and bought a Lexus hybrid (spend 10k more to get 5mpg more). Maybe you should do the same if you so ignorant about all the good advice you are getting on this forum. And just to set the record straight yes I do believe that Ford mastered the EPA test but that's not Ford's fault it's the test guidelines nowhere near real world driving. Just compare the EPA test cycle avg speed to the speed you are driving around Chicago. I also believe that there are cars out there that have an actual issue maybe bad HVBs I don't know. Should Ford address these complains; absolutely and I wish they would take people serious about it. EPA numbers are achievable but it takes a change in driving behavior and is effected by a lot of outside factors. It's just the nature of the beast driving such a technology advanced car which I believe is much more receptive to weather changes for example. Do yourself a favor if you refuse to change behavior even so slightly and buy something else. Actually you should have considered that before ordering because by that time there were already enough complains about getting EPA rated MPG.
