This is a concerted effort by Ford to find and fix as many issues as possible.  Almost all of these are past offenses.  It speaks badly about the last decade of production but it should help a lot going forward.  I wouldn’t be concerned unless the 2025+ vehicles start getting big recalls (not little ones that only affect a few thousand vehicles - those mean the process is working.).

You can't really say that. Problems take time to show up. Sometimes years.

Ford Recalls Another 175,000 Trucks And SUVs For Parts That Could Fly Off While Driving - Autoblog

The recall potentially impacts 174,853 examples of the 2021-2022 Ford Expedition (34,573 vehicles) and Lincoln Navigator (8,969 vehicles), as well as the 2021-2023 Ford F-150 (91,850 vehicles). Super Duty pickups are also affected, with the Ford F-250 SD, F-350 SD, and F-450 SD named in the recall (39,461 vehicles). According to the NHTSA, the clips on the Webasto-supplied moonroof wind deflector’s lower attachment strip may be inadequately attached to the moonroof frame’s retention tabs, which can result in the wind deflector detaching from the vehicle, causing a hazard to other vehicles and potentially resulting in a crash. The issue was first noticed in May of this year when Ford was addressing B-pillar trim detachments on Explorers, at which time the automaker decided to check other areas of its vehicles that may suffer from similar problems. Notifications will go out to dealers from tomorrow, 30 October, at which time owners will be able to use their VIN to check if their vehicles are part of the recall.

Good catch by Ford quality control on this one. Good job these guys deserve a raise.

2026 Ford Mustang RTR Package Debuts With GT, Dark Horse Upgrades

Notably, the 2026 Ford Mustang RTR will be built alongside the regular pony car at the Flat Rock Assembly plant in Michigan, unlike previous (and current) models from the third-party company. On the outside, it certainly looks different thanks to things like the front fascia from the Mustang GT, an RTR front grille with illuminated nostrils, a Tarnished Dark anodized pony emblem and mirror caps, RTR fender badges, an RTR decklid, and additional Tarnished Dark accents including the hood, rocker, and rear quarter graphics, plus the GT Performance Pack rear spoiler.

In terms of mechanicals, the 2026 Ford Mustang RTR comes with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine, which in this case receives no power upgrade over stock, but it does come with the active-valve performance exhaust as standard, along with the Electronic Drift Brake feature, and RTR’s anti-lag system that sharpens throttle response. Braking duties are handled by Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, and the package also gets the same rear subframe and front and rear sway bars as the Dark Horse. Finally, the RTR receives a unique Track mode stability control tune, an optimized steering gear with increased travel, and a new tune for the optional MagneRide dampers.

    Ho hum

It allows the dash to sit lower for better visibility while having the screen be higher and a little closer.  It also makes it easier to have different size screens or swap out screens from year to year.  Much better ergonomics and to me a much better overall look to the dash.

    It's not a video game it's a car.

It seems like Ford wants to take the mustang even further and the GTD is just the beginning of that journey. I wonder if the team is at least entertaining discussions on a mid-engine mustang platform. It seems like a logical progression of the GTD, evolving this idea of a mustang supercar to new heights.

I hope they don't go mid engine in the Mustang. These things are hard enough to work on and mid engine makes it all that much harder. The should just do a V8 Ford GT and put that Vette in its place once and for all.

Ford Quality: Management Using This Technique To Fix Issues

“In the manufacturing lanes, we’re doing Gemba Walks and going to the plants and spending a lot of time at individual stations, making sure that we’re leveraging the best of our plants across the whole Ford ecosystem in each individual plant,” Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue and Model e, said at the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference. “We’ve seen really good progress there. And we’ve spent a lot of time with our supply chain team and our supplier partners. So much of our progress will be done through the supplier partners.”

For those that aren’t aware of what this method is, “Gemba” is a Japanese term meaning “the real place,” or “the place where value is created.” Gemba walks occur when leaders from companies travel to locations where physical work is performed – in this case, places where parts and vehicles are built – to observe that work, better understand it, and identify potential areas of improvement while interacting with employees, rather than simply relying on second-hand information from others.

So they are walking the walk and talking the talk. That gets you nothing!
