I heard there's going to be more postings for Livonia within a week or so too. I was told to expect the new cut off date for tier 2's staying at MAP to be mid April

Anyone hear what the new cut off date will be for those tier 2's making the cut to stay at MAP?

EXACTLY!! For him to suggest that the past 4 years were more profitable then the 90's when the economy was booming and everyone was making a ton of money, this guy is crazy...

I'm not going to get in a pissing contest with you over this. When the economy was booming back in the 90's your going to tell me you didn't receive bigger profit sharing checks then you have the past 4 years?? The economy hasn't been been nearly as good as it was back then, "maybe the reason you don't remember how good it was and I'll steal a quote from you "maybe you had your head in your rectum". What about all the over time you worked back then?? Let me guess "What oovertime, "we didn't work any ot" not has much as we have the past 4 years... Yes it's true I don't know YOUR situation but for most people after working 30 years you can be able to retire, it's all about budgeting your money correctly. So you can come up with all these excuses how it's not possible, but it happens every day. I know plenty of people who have. And btw, I never once insulted you on any of my posts unlike yourself who has. If my posts upset you don't be mad at me be mad at yourself for not being able to budget your money correctly. And your excuses for not being able to retire are like a$$holes, EVERYONE HAS GOT ONE!! Agree with you. And if you think about it, 30 years of profit checks estimating a take home of $5000 a year is another $150,000. And this isn't including any overtime you would have worked over the years. After 30 years if you planned it out right you won't have a car payment either. I'm not saying that you couldn't get an easy part time job somewhere at a place like Home Depot for some spending money. That part time job would be easier on your body then working in a plant. So to say that it's not possible to do 30 and out isn't true.

If your house payment was a 1000 a month and you only made minimum payments,you will have paid a total of $360,000. So in 30years your house should be paid of easily. Now with years of profit sharing and working ot, banking some of that there's part of your college tuition. Health issues? We all have BC/BS. So unless you're living beyond your means, 30 years you should be able to retire

If you have been working at FMC since you were 18yrs old and have 30 years in you shouldn't have a house payment and possibly no car payment. Without a house payment you could very easily live on a fixed income.

None of this is going to stop MAP's high seniority from going to Livonia

Haven't heard anything, hardly have seen any committee man around since the announcement.

I know that but I had heard that Livonia didn't want to take any of MAP'S tier 1's and only wanted the tier 2's.

So is Livonia ONLY going to take MAPS tier 2's and NOT any tier 1s that are going to be laid off when they eliminate their 3rd shift?

You don't get it do you?? FMC is eliminating the 3rd shift because they say Focus sales are slumping and their over stocked. If that's the case why would MAP be working overtime to make even more cars that supposedly aren't selling??

Heard the same thing but don't know what it'll be and how true it is. Once those tier 2 are laid off from MAP and sent to other plants I don't think they have any rights to return back.

Any new news from the union on what plants those being laid off from MAP will go??

If/When Livonia does post expect the tier 1's from MAP with seniority dates before 2000 to fill those positions. When is Livonia supposed to post those jobs and how many?

If your getting laid off I would honestly enjoy having the summer off, you know you'll get called back eventually
