  1. I have 3 years to go. Hopefully there will be a man negotiating the next contract and the AWS will go away.not what we had in the last negotiations
  2. If your name has legacy next to it Ford wants you gone. A buyout would be nice but it would have to be substantial.
  3. We'll be lucky to retain what we have because the only tool the negotiators have is to threaten a strike. That won't happen so that that. I look for a raise for the tier 2 and a buy down for tier 1. Raise tier 2 to 40% of the workforce. No cola and no change to the AWS. With another $6000.00 signing bonus.
  4. What does a union stand for? 40 hr work week Time and a half after 8 hrs time and a half on Saturday double time on Sunday this is what was once considered normal. now we have the AWS straight time on Saturday straight time on Sunday 39 hr work week at 12 hours a day 48 hr work week at 12 hours a day Overtime after 10 hours and only after you fulfill your workweek obligations 12 hrs of vacation time spent for one day off from work. straight time mandatory Easter Sunday it's truly shameful
  5. I've read every post in this topic.just so you know where I'm coming from I'm a 27 year skilled trades I'm worried about what the contract will bring.Thinking about what the union has as negotiating tool. What? Strike? That's it! There are no other tools to negotiate with. Ford is not afraid of a strike and the UAW knows it. So how do any of you think the contract will go. Raise 2 tier to 40% No raises no coa no change in aws...no no no. So strike well replace you all in 6 weeks. You will get run over at the entrance gate to your plant. The UAW is dead. Sorry to sound so negative but tell me where I'm wrong. Kentucky will be a right to work state soon. Mullally said when he opened 3 plants in China on the same day that Ford will meet 60% of all its car needs out of China. We will be lucky to maintain what we already have.
