My 03 Cobra just had the battery go. Went overnight. Measured 12.75V with nothing on, open the door and it dropped to 10V, turned on the lights and it dropped to 0V! Ford replaced it at no cost.

OK.....so how do you like it compared to the 01?
-
Just like the 03's, started $10K or better above MSRP, ended getting an 03 10th anniverary coupe for $30.5K out of pocket! That included the rebate and very deep discounts. The dealer (Jim Skinner) still ended up with 3 he didn't sell before the 04s came out! He is doing the same thing again with the 500s, you would think they would learn? I bet there will be some good buys out there at the end of the run!

Will some one please sound TAPS for this forum!

The only head gasket problems I have heard about are on over heated engines and those that don't buy new "torque to yield" head bolts when re-assembling the engine. There are a butt load of 4.6s out there and it seams if there were a problem word would be around (early 03 Cobra tick as an example). A friend brought his 02 GT to my place to listen to "ticking noises", turned out to be the fuel injectors. The noise faded out as you eased it off idle. He put flows on and the "ticking" went away! :D

Having owned and raced a Grabber Yellow 70 Boss 302 with slats, spoiler and shaker I would be real hard pressed to keep the 03 Cobra if anything close was produced!

5.0, independant upper and lower control arms front and rear.

OK, have them on, sound is the same, just not as loud. Not too sure I like them but definately an improvement over the stock 03 exhaust. Again, thanks for the info, Bill

R1, you really don't want a Mustang. You just don't realize that yet.
All the little things you are talking about add to production cost tremendously. R & D, bidding the out source, stocking etc. are all factors. Every time a worker touches the car it cost money. I am sure the market test Ford ran indicated that most buyers would prefer to make their own mods. Like Bama GT said, I would much rather have HP and handling than a compass and I have owner Ford muscle cars of one kind or another since 1967 heated seats and the other "stuff" was never a consideration.

OK, the guy that has them said to take em, if they work keep them, if they are not what you want scap em. I can live with that and can't argue with the price! Started looking at altuernative systems after 13 hours straight return trip from WI. The flows get a little much. Still want a cool sound around town!

My oldest daughter drove a Ranger thru 5 years of college and we gat her a new one after graduation. The first one had 175K on it with only the timing belt failing AFTER she was told to get it changed. The second one had 150K on it when she sold it to buy an Explorer. She is pretty tough on her vehicles but they stood up!

Just a follow up on the numbers. The old set of pre - fix mufflers that I have in the scrap pile have 118 and 119 on them, the set I am looking at has 222 and 223? Any ideas?

Thanks much.

OK you guys with all the 99 info..........what are the correct numbers for the post fix exhaust system? They are one the mufflers if I remember correctly. I have a set of take offs and would like to know if they are pre or post fix. Thinking about putting them on the 03. Thanks.

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Can you check the oil pressure ?
Also a rod knock may go away under a hard load.
The rod knock will either get louder under acceleration or when you back off, sometimes both. Generally it will clang around by just hitting the throttle with no load.

Alrighty then. Maybe this one will be here more than six months!
2006 Vert Battery problems

The battery in my 93 F-150 only lasted 10 years, 3months. Go figure....my wife ran it down at least a dozen times by leaving the dome light on. The battery in the 03 has never been abused! All has to be PFM.
