  1. Joe, BP (Joey Ithink), Hope to be at the first one in Springville in April. Going to assume it will be the third Saturday as usual. I am at McWane Center until the end of the month, could be a few days longer, just depends on when the back ground checks come back on my replacement. The checks should be back but if not I have agreed to stay until they do. State does the DHR check so it varies between three to six weeks. Little scared about this, tried it once when I got out of the Navy after 30 years, found out you can only transplant bushes so many times before you kill them! Have a couple of projects to keep me busy and out of trouble....
  2. Joe, I am in pretty good shape, not by planning, just a little dumb luck. After the mini crash after 911 my 403B had nothing but - s infront of all the funds. Ask the guy what he had with a + on it and he said "the guarenteed" account. Told him to shift everything to it! Do to a little prcrastination I just left it there so when the current dive happened it was untouched. Some years I made 5%, some only 2.5% but at least it is all there! I haven't hit a lick on a thing outside of routine maintenance. Got the Stude in and cleaned all the crap out of it, still need to finish stripping the interior so it can get a good washing to get rid of the mouse pee and other goodies that may be there. Need to finish the wifes 65 Bird before I get too deep into that Stude! Looking for a 64, 65 or 66 coupe Bird to cut the roof off of. If you know of any shout at me. See ya at the Springville Wally World.
  3. Joe, Guess I need to look at this board more than once a year! Sold the 03 in Feb. 08, had I known you were in the market......sold it for 24K to a nice kid in Statesboro, GA that had an 03, sold it to buy a Ranger and realized his mistake a short 3 - 4 months later. The Shelby came in on the 3rd of March and I've got 10K on it. Put on FRPP springs (to kill the 4 X 4 look), Magnaflows, FRPP CAI and tune and FRPP 3:73s. I am going to retire, the 27th of March is my last day of work. Got a new project car, 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona Wagonaire, 4-speed, bucket seat, air, power disc brakes and 3:73 TT (their traction lock, called it "Twin Traction").
  4. Dyno day at Walkers in Trussville on Saturday the 23rd. 12 Mustangs of various types and mods pulled. Best for the day was an 08 Shelby GT 500, 626HP/613lbft both pulls. Had TVS, up graded intercooler, CAI, Corsas and an Evolution tune. Fuel/air was perfect across the board.
  5. Would like the scoop on the what, when and where. VIN 1ZHT88S385176552 Thanks much, Bill
  6. Yup, have to hang on....just too much fun reading these forums and gleaning info from time to time. The 99 still has a warm spot in my heart, the 03 will for some time and the 08 is just awesome when compared to the other two. Be nice to see you if the Springville cruise-in happens this year.
  7. Hi Joe, Glad to see you're still out there! I ordered from Jim Skinner Ford. He was out of quotas but called and talked to, as he said, "the Ford lady" (I think the regional inventory control manager in Atlanta) and she told him to put the order in. That was 18 December, just after Christmas I stopped in to see if it was going to be built and they (Skinner) told me he didn't think it would be. Well on 17 January he gets a call that it would be built! Yup, pretty lucky or just the right timing, don't know, don't really care. In the mean time I start looking all over the net for a car. Everyone of them out there was 5 - 10 - 15 over. Told them all no. Funny thing, in the time since I got the word that my car was to be built (18 Feb. build date) I've gotten calls from three of them I talked to wanting to sell at MSRP. The last one was really upset that I didn't make them that offer. I told him the name of the sales man and his statement that 10 over was the best I could hope for. If they weren't in northern IL I would swing by and show them what I have and look at the ones they still have sitting on the floor! I still have the 99 Cobra stuff we talked about and it is still yours if you want it. I have a year to go before retirement, still pondering if I want to pull the plug next March or continue working. I did finish the 66 Ranchero that was in the build stage for 10 years. I had it at the last Springville cruise-in. Sold it and it is now in Mobile living happily ever after. Now working on the wife's 65 Bird. I do have a couple of projects to keep me busy for a couple of years if I do retire. Hooking up sounds like a plan! We'll talk about that later. Cya, Bill

  10. It also suppreses radio noise the ground strap on the lower passenger corner as the hood is plastic and will not suppres RFI from the ingition.
  11. A 95 R went across the Barret Jackson stage in 2006. Had 32 miles on it, Shelby's signature and only sold for a litle over $30K. My bet is neither of them will become the "big time" collectables (Boss 302/429) in the short term. Given the initial cost most of us with disposable income (over 50) will never see the big dollars and the young kids that struggle to buy one move on to something else as they get a family just as I did with my 70 Boss 302 and 62 Corvette!
  12. Had the 03 in WI over Christmas......found out the car does not like slushy roads. Just feels real wiggley! I know....it got a very thorough bath when we got back down to B-Ham!
