But it hasn’t hurt sales.  I think the Sport crowd likes calling them Broncos.  It certainly adds to the emotional appeal and makes them a little more appealing even with the name confusion.

Sure, but it’s still not THE Bronco. I think it can easily stand on its own without the Bronco association. The Maverick does very well without being tied to a well-known nameplate. If the product execution is superb, people will come.

I hate the idea of different vehicles sharing names. We are two years in to the bronco sport and people are still confusing it with the bronco. it was stupid with the explorer, and it’s still stupid with the bronco and mustang. Build a vehicle that people want, and it will sell itself. You don’t need marketing gimmicks.

It didn’t help being the first to launch. I actually heard people around town saying they saw the new Bronco and how disappointed they were by it.

This is just proof that most American cars from the 50s were hideous. Especially if that design was seen as one of the better ones. The original t-bird was gorgeous, as was the bullet bird, every other t-bird design was about as attractive as a saggy 90 year old's wet ass. Ford can make a more attractive design if they just throw most of the retro cues out the window. Keep the classic gt proportions maybe, do a cool throwback to old school fins with like a 3D boomerang taillight design, and that's about it. Everything else should look modern.

I'll have to say it again...if the Mark series is reborn, it will not big a personal luxury coupe. It will be a 4 door SUV coupe.

Why? The 4 door SUV coupe is the personal luxury coupe of today.

    Same goes for Thunderbird.

Disgusting. I hope I'm dead before that heinous act occurs.

Might not get much credit from car mags and probably not the popular thing to do anymore, but I love my 64 continental because it's quiet, rides smooth as glass, and is comfortable as hell. It's slow, it rolls all over the place on any corner, and the steering is vague as all get out. But I don't care, I've got other Fords for going fast and handling.. I drive the 64 more than anything I own because it's quiet and peaceful. Personally would like Lincoln to follow what made them the epitome of luxury in the 60s, but I do realize that's not necessarily the popular thing to do these days with V's, amg's, M's, etc.

I can picture reproduction '60s Continentals becoming a reality one day. They certainly wouldn't be attainable for most, though. For reference, Tom Scarpello's Revology Mustangs begin at $198,325.

That generation Continental is considered a landmark design.  It officially ended the late 1950's fascination with excess chrome and tailfins.  We had a 1963 Continental when I was a kid.  Dark red.  Just a gorgeous car.  I remember it well.

It's a shame they didn't continue that styling theme. Lincoln has been all over the map in the styling dept. ever since.
