Following up on my "what's wrong with Ford" question. I took a look at the coupe/sedan offerings in the marketplace as of today. I didn't count performance cars since Ford still sells the Mustang:
Number of models offered:
Cadillac: 2
Buick: 0
Chevy: 4
Chrysler: 1
Dodge: 2
Toyota: 6
Lexus: 4
Honda: 4
Acura: 3
Subaru: 2
Mitsubishi: 1
Hyundai: 4
Kia: 5
Mercedes: 5
BMW: 7
Porsche: 1
Audi: 6
That's 57 choices of cars. I guess Ford is in worse shape than any other maker in the industry in abandoning the sedan market first. I'm sure a few more dominos will fall but obviously the coupe/sedan market is very much alive.

Yes, the stand alone Lincoln dealer near me is on a strip with every high end luxury make represented, yet its facade and building are an embarrassment as a Lincoln dealership. And, thanks, I agree, I should have a seamless and effortless experience but from the day I bought the vehicle it has been anything but. You can Google Ogden Lincoln of Westmont and see the pics.
The colocated dealer where I bought the vehicle actually has a very nice Lincoln side that is separate. But, when time to discuss financing, we had to go over to the Ford side and deal with the crusty old 20+ year finance guy in his shabby office. The vehicle was dirty to the point where I had to go back the next day and have them redo it. The buying process was so slow, even though they knew we were coming, that we had to rush out as we were late for an event we should have had plenty of time to make.
Anyway, sorry to keep railing here.
Yes, I love FW. My mom does live there. She is coming to visit us here in IL.
They like to drag out the process until you're exhausted and will agree to anything to get out of there.

Well, after dealing with ongoing software issues and lack of service from the Concierge, I am now resigning myself to why there aren't that many Lincolns on the road. The crap customer service from, essentially, Ford, really sucks. That's why people buy Cadillacs, even though they are ugly in comparison. Lincoln can pretend all day long to be stepping ups the game with Black Label, but it's all for show, it appears.
What software issues are you having?
I agree it's a Ford service experience, and Lincoln is going to have to get serious and go to stand-alone dealers at some point. Of course they are the only luxury make to give up on sedans, so management obviously has no sense.

I see Aviators around from time to time and they are distinctive. Navigators, MKCs and a couple Nautili too. Contis and MKZs are few and far between. I still get compliments on my MKZ and it's nice to have something not often seen, a black 2017+ with 19s.

If you haven't noticed the huge shift in the market from sedans to CUV's and SUV's the past several years, then you haven''t been paying attention.
I've been paying attention, but you didn't answer any of my questions.

Seriously?Yes. Why can all the other makes produce sedans? What's wrong with Ford? There are new sedans all over the place. Is giving up a long-term strategy?

My 2017 Z only has 35K on it and I love it, but I'm tempted to step up to a Connie. There are probably deals on them.

Too small for a Continental. The car lacks presence.
It's actually a big roomy car but it does lack presence. It needed to make more of a statement. I wonder if the Germans, Japanese, and Koreans will also cancel sedans? I doubt it. So why Ford?

I have a hard time believing that Lincoln won't sell sedans.

That power console looks like a pointless gimmick to me, but what do I know...

bbf2530, you have been of tremendous help. Thank You.
Went with the SanDisk Portable drive that I referenced above.
I take it that I have to format it in Fat32? I will use the Mac software I have to copy it all over.
I will get back to you next week and let you know if it works and if I have any questions.
Thak you againThe owner's manual should have this info.

bbf2530 is offering good advice. I’ve been using a mini-USB thumb drive onto which I’ve copied the music I want and then I leave that drive plugged into the USB port in my 2019 MKZ-h’s armrest compartment. It works great. (What need help with is naming and sorting the music....)
I spent hours cleaning up the metadata in my music files and it makes a big difference when trying to easily find an album, artist, or composer in Sync 3. In the past, I always just dug into the file system when playing music files.
This is the tool I used, once you get the hang of it it works well.

A new car with a great deal is a real pick-me-up in an otherwise shitty time.

LOL, I love the electricity for my Aviator, our power comes from Nuclear 1 up the road. I've been getting 93-133 MPGe depending on how I drive everyday going to the hospital. We have been converting an entire column (7 floors) to negative air to accommodate hundreds of positive patients. We have one today and have been up to as many as three. Thankful it hasn't bloomed into what they thought, but if it does we are very prepared. For those of us in engineering it has been lots of overtime and mind stimulating when they ask if certain things can be done.? Ask any engineer if it can be done and he'll say heck yeah, then they'll ask if you can pay for it. Thankfully they have the money to pay for what they asked for.
How does negative air work?

We had our A/C serviced at the house, and the tech said getting around on the roads these days was "a delight". He also said any stimulus check he gets is going into the market. Smart guy.

Yard work is starting up, biking season is upon us too. I also mainly work from home so no change there. We get takeout from our favorite restaurants once a week to help keep them afloat. I'm afraid that if this shutdown continues much longer things will be worse than if we just went about our lives with extra precautions.

Gorgeous vehicle. I've only seen a couple of them in the wild.

I read a recent article that said Millennials are actually starting to buy cars as they get older and make a bit more money. I wouldn't count out the private auto just yet.

At the price of a fully loaded BL it's still like $10k less than the equivalent packaged Eurodouche cars. And personally I like the styling better anyway of the American interiors. Those Reserve wheels look pretty nice too.
LOL! Nice one.

Tesla is rated 27th out of 29 makes in reliability by CR. They're also dead last in the industry in autonomous driving technology, according to Navigant. 70% of the energy to charge them comes from fossil fuels, and the mining operations from nickel, cobalt, and lithium are environmentally destructive. And once all these giant batteries need disposing it's going to be another big environmental problem. Finally, they have to have government subsidies to survive, which means the middle class has been subsidizing toys for wealthy people.
So, not a fan.

Tesla a luxury car?? I thought it was the horse and buggy coming back...go a few miles, stop for the night, go a few miles, stop for the night.... I ended my Motor Trend subscription when they made it car of the year, they couldn't even go from Los Angeles to Las Vegas without stopping for hours to recharge. And don't even get me started on the environmental hazards processing the lithium and manufacturing the batteries.
Oh and in winter, cut the range in half and drive 40mph with the heat off.

You're right, my arms sit perfectly with no discomfort on long drives. In my last vehicle I constantly moved my arm from the rest up to the window sill then back, trying to find a comfortable spot.

Why are Ford's resources limited to making SUVs when most other makes aren't? That's what I'm asking.
