  1. Tesla is rated 27th out of 29 makes in reliability by CR. They're also dead last in the industry in autonomous driving technology, according to Navigant. 70% of the energy to charge them comes from fossil fuels, and the mining operations from nickel, cobalt, and lithium are environmentally destructive. And once all these giant batteries need disposing it's going to be another big environmental problem. Finally, they have to have government subsidies to survive, which means the middle class has been subsidizing toys for wealthy people. So, not a fan.
  2. Oh and in winter, cut the range in half and drive 40mph with the heat off.
  3. That says it all...
  4. You're right, my arms sit perfectly with no discomfort on long drives. In my last vehicle I constantly moved my arm from the rest up to the window sill then back, trying to find a comfortable spot.
  5. I grew up riding in 70s - 80s Continentals, when you could hit a speed bump and not know it. 😁 So I prefer comfort mode for daily driving and full sport for twisties. The MKZ is pretty much transformed when you hit S, suspension and steering stiffen up and it stays flat in the corners, trans downshifts when you hit the button which spools up the turbo, and off you go. It's more subtle in the MKX, I'm sure if we had the 2.7 it would be more noticeable.
  6. If they kill sedans, my next car unfortunately won't be a Lincoln. They'll hand that market over to their competitors just like Ford did.

    Doug DeMuro Continental review

Also #1 luxury sedan in Consumer Reports. I could have afforded a base Continental, but opted for a Reserve MKZ for a few thousand less.
  8. I never use the paddles, since the car gears down anyway in D or S, just more aggressively in S. I do like sport mode for traffic situations where I need a burst of speed, say at a Jersey roundabout full of maniacs at rush hour.

    Annoying reviewers!

One reviewer said the seat cooler fan in the MKZ "roars". Roars? You can't hear it over ambient noise when it's on high. Others acknowledge that Lincoln prioritizes quiet luxury then ding it for not having full-on performance specs. You can't win with these kids. 🙄

    Annoying reviewers!

They mostly despise domestic brands and turn up their noses at Lincolns as re-badged Fords, even though they share hardly any exterior or interior parts. Meanwhile look at the models with some of the worst reliability and depreciation, and you'll see the coveted German ones.

    Black Label availability

We have a '17 MKX and it really is an ideal size vehicle. Nimble handling and seats 4 in comfort with room for luggage. I rented a 2018 Explorer and it felt like a bus compared to the MKX.

    Ordered: 2020 Aviator

Saw my first 2020 Explorer today, nice looking vehicle with that swoopy roof.
  13. Given Lincoln sold us two brand new 2017 cars with badly out of date maps, you'd think when the update finally came out 2 years later it would be complimentary. C'mon Lincoln, what kind of luxury experience is this?
