  1. I'm sure they believe it as much as you do, it's the supplier that they need to make the case to. I expect Lincoln corporate isn't asking for the examination to save a dollar, they need the evidence to make their case with the supplier who's naturally going to stand by their product and try to blame something else. The only argument to that is to make sure everything else is vetted.
  2. The gear selector has 4 keys. The standard U.S. keyboard that you use on this forum has 61. I think you'll be okay. My only complaint is with the pass-through 2nd row option I don't have a way to lock out 2nd row radio controls. I would like to complain that the seats are too narrow but the fact of the matter is I'm too fat so I'm working on that one.
  3. Yeah I definitely received more looks than usual going down the road. The backup assist is fantastic too, not so much about the turning but the way you can effortlessly reverse straight as an arrow is awesome. If you're accustomed to the weight distribution type with the bars and chains, the Equal-i-zer is worth a look for sway control. The hookup is practically identical, there's just 2 arms to connect like usual. Those arms happen to provide the sway control too, and it works really well in my experience. Now that I think about it, it's the only sway control style that I do like, so I guess I understand where you're coming from.
  4. Not sure why you wouldn't want anti-sway. Mine tows great. That pic is ~4,000lbs of tractor + implements + trailer, so in the 5,500lbs - 6,000lbs range. 1,300 miles towed no sweat.
  5. I don't think this is a phone contacts/bluetooth thing? I believe this has to do with "Sync Connect" which is what the Lincoln Way app uses to start the car and work the locks remotely from your cell phone.
  6. Friend of mine is seeing this in their Navigator every time it starts. I remember I used to see this often too. I think I did something to stop it, but now for the life of me I can't figure out what. I swore I recall reading something here about this but I can't find it. Believe it or not, I did "see owner guide" and I can't find anything relevant in there.
  7. I just leave the car running and lock it from the outside.
  8. I saw a similar event on a demo video where the system was canceled due to other traffic. IIRC once the traffic cleared they just hit the button again and it resumed. That was just tribal knowledge, the display didn't indicate anything like that. EDIT: NVM, it happened during "park out" not while doing the parking so not sure it will just pick up where it left off while parking.
  9. That's how I park too. I find the 360 camera to make it that much easier. I was trying to figure out the nuances because my wife is not super comfortable parking reverse. I've used the assist a few times on the passenger side now, haven't tried the driver's side. You're right, it doesn't pull forward and out at all first, it actually pulls much farther forward than I normally would before asking for reverse, and then just backs in. It will get very close on the passenger side while doing this but seems to be well controlled.
  10. I haven't been able to find any information on what the method of operation that makes it adaptive is.
  11. Yeah the maintenance plans aren't a killer deal or anything. The value there, if it's value to you, is taking advantage of the quick lane for any little thing (wiper blades, ww fluid, tire pressure) and having a consistent vehicle cost to simplify the budget. In the past I paid myself estimated escrow which is another way to do it.
  12. Yes I've seen this on both the passenger and driver sides. I found that if you fold the mirrors in and out that seems to "resolve" it. I am using the option for the mirrors to fold when locking the car. This does not happen often, it's only happened twice in total, once on each side.
  13. It will get into a pretty tight spot. If it's tight you'll have to do the back and forth several times. I tried the perpendicular parking recently and didn't find it very intuitive. The 1st time I tried it the spot it thought it found was off the end of the parking lot and there was a tree in that location. I was shooting for a spot next to my passenger door so I think it "searches" off the rear bumper sensor perhaps. I'll give it another try later just to get a feel for how it works.
  14. the "C" lights. These come on with the dial in auto while driving at lower speeds. the "D" lights are your daytime running lights and also (I think) your marker lights because unlike a lot of other manufacturers they do not turn off with your blinker.
  15. You can negotiate those packages. I got 7 years 60k of bumper to bumper + the same on maintenance, 5 yrs exterior scratches dings removal, wheel and tire, and windshield, and 4yrs interior stains/scuffs/rips/tears for half the MSRP difference between the reserve and the BL. The only thing I wish I had from the BL (besides the chalet interior which I won't do with 3 kids under 3) are the wheels and the black fender badging. I'll scoop those one of these days.
  16. You do need the windows version, but you can disable start/stop without the more expensive module. You cannot turn off the dash display and you cannot disable the button itself without it, but you can disable the feature. As far as navigation while moving, I don't know on that one.
  17. The Lincoln concierge service will also find one for you nationwide. 844.342.2330
  18. I would definitely check another dealer, that's not an answer I would take at face value.
  19. It does actually, one of the bullets from the owner's manual on the requirements for it to engage. • Ambient temperature is moderate I haven't found great information on what constitutes "moderate" but the upper limit is somewhere in the 90's.
  20. Looks like the weather is trolling me. It was just barely not hot enough outside for it to work, then I disabled it and verified it was disabled, and when I enabled it again it was hot enough outside to keep the system from engaging. Anyway, it does work again. Thanks!
  21. I'll do a long test later today. I figured there were some conditions to meet before it would work again but wasn't sure what all of them were. Definitely warmed up though.
  22. Have you tried re-enabling the auto start-stop? I was able to turn it off, but it doesn't appear to re-enable after restoring the settings. I only made the change to the BdyCM on 726-48-02 to the 2nd position from a 1 to a 0 to disable, then back to a 1 to re-enable. I also tried simply loading the entire backup.
  23. Yeah I trigger the foot sensor hooking up the trailer too. On one hand I can see finding that frustrating or annoying, but I get such a laugh out of suddenly needing to dodge a hatch or get smacked in the head that it doesn't bother me. Glutton for punishment I guess? To the OP, I hope it gets sorted out quickly for you.
