I read the previous posts and then observed what others were posting.

Does anyone know when SD Platinums will be built? I’ve been waiting a long time w no commodity issues.

My sales guy and vehicle ordering manager made a comment that it could be Nov next year. But honestly it’s anyone’s guessing game. My brother-in-law is in the chip business and explained to me that when Covid hit the car dealerships stopped ordering chips and companies like his picked up the chip orders for their products (like vacuums) thus taking away inventory from places like Ford to ask for. He said too many products these days are using chip, the same chips needed for vehicles and the manufacturing plants can’t keep up w the volume of orders. They can only produce so much and when other companies like my brother-in-law’s picked up the orders the car companies weren’t asking for, it’s made it more challenging for car companies to get the amount they need. If that makes sense.

Also, along with the retractable truck bed cover, I've seen shortages with this as well. Should this shortage component be canceled and done aftermarket too? Or are there temporary shortages making this commodity short for a limited time? I am doing my spray-in bed liner aftermarket. Just trying to find out what kind of waiting game is going on the bed covers.

Just wondering when would 2023’s be available for building by any chance? Is it the end of March like the 2022’s were available for ordering?

He pulled everything up off his computer and even saw that it was on hold for the adaptive steering chip on some other program than the base ordering system. I would trust his information that an Oct build is good. That being said, that’s as of today. He counted back when they are supposed to have the chip for adaptive steering and came up with the Oct build date. I am mentally preparing for end of Oct, knowing there are probably many other people with priority 10 out there. Either way, I’m in it for the long haul now. I live adaptive cruise control for when i am towing my RV and following another RV. Any changes to the order would start me over at the bottom of the list.

Called my dealership and spoke to the manager who does the ordering. He said because I am getting a 2022 F250 Limited with adaptive steering (standard) they won’t have the chip until sometime in October 2021 and can start building my truck then. I have a priority number of 10.

How do you contact marketing to get additional information? I too feel like I am a nag to the dealership asking them for updates. Horrible customer service. I only get service if i drive 1.5 hours to the dealership and walk in !
