Still not understanding why this is confusing

It is extremely confusing since no where in the package does it mention the change to LED lighting.  If you choose the BAP and then try to add LED headlights you then have to remove the BAP and vice versa.  I have confirmed with my dealer as well as with multiple owners that the 2022 Lariat Ultimate BAP does in fact include LED lights.  This description on the order guide is a holdover from when it was also available on XLT, and therefore was a cheaper option for XLT and did not include the light upgrade.

I tried to add it to my build, but I got the notification that I would have to remove the BAP. I’d rather have halogen than removing the BAP. But according to SpartanFan23 it’s part of the BAP.

I also think that's why the BAP is so much more expensive on Lariat trims than XLT. If it wasn't for adding the additional cost of the LED headlights, then those black side emblems are extremely expensive. ??

  3. The order guide can be a bit confusing on this topic.  The lariat ultimate does not include LED lights, but they are actually part of the Black Appearance pkg.  This is a bit of a hidden quirk as the BAP mentions black headlight surround on LED only, but the BAP does come with the complete LED light package.  It is an additional option that shows up if you remove the BAP, and as far as I know independent of the Ultimate pkg.

A search of this forum on the BAP will show you what I am talking about too.

It's not really the bed but the frame. The *Narrow Chassis applies to any Super Duty body code that ends in E, F, G, H, K, L and is sometimes a commodity issue. The regular Super Duty pickups are Wide Frames. There is no notice that I've seen this week regarding the frames being a commodity issue but one of the reports I review still hasn't been made available.

How do I determine the body code of my truck order?

  5. Line-x.  I have had it on 3 trucks and never had a single issue.  Lifetime warranty too!

On my last truck, after collision repairs, (I got rear ended by a tow truck) they had to respray the bottom of the bed so it was double thick.  There was no way I was going to do anything to that bed, it was indestructible.

  6. I would have to agree with you, if money was no object I would pick the Hennessy, I really like the stance of the black one in the photo.  I could do without the bumper guard though.

The Roush is more of a sleeper, mostly stock looking, but one bad@$$ truck.  The dark gray just looks beautiful.

Never been much of a fan of the rollbar on a crew cab.  Maybe on an old stepside with some old school KC lights, but not a fan on the newer trucks.

    Just my 0.02¢

  7. So I have ordered a 250 CCSB Lariat Ultimate Black Appearance Pkg in Carbonized Gray, but I am now thinking about Rapid Red.  I feel like the gray is pretty common with the black package, but I haven't seen it in red in person.  Looking for any thoughts or suggestions.  My kids like the gray, and my wife likes the red.  Her explorer is rapid red ?

  8. Just thinking here, but the 10 speed was designed to handle the torque of the 6.7, so I would assume that plowing in 3rd with the 7.3 is not putting any additional strain on it.  I currently plow with a 2021 with the 6.2 and 6 speed, but I don't pay attention to what gear it's pushing in.  I haven't noticed any issues with it either, always enough power to shove whatever pile is in front of the truck.

Plus you have 60,000 miles to find out if there is an issue with it.

  9. My current truck 2021 250 Lariat has them and they are sooooo much better than the halogen on my 2017 250 XLT, no way I would ever go back.  You can also get them on a Lariat as long as you order the Black Appearance pkg, so the Ultimate is not required, if you want to go that route.  My 2022 is ordered with both the Ultimate and Black Appearance because that is what I want to have.  Sunroof and upfitter switch too!  I figured if I am going to order a new truck it should have everything that I wanted.  I almost went Platinum, but decided that I liked the look of the Black out better than all the chrome.  Last 2 trucks have both had the chrome package, so something different this time.

I'm curious, how high is the truck measured at the cab?

I have a 22 F250 on order and ordered a 2.5 carli kit. I've seen a video that cjc posted and measured the top of the cab at 84", was curious what yours measured.

Don't forget that on the 2021 and newer there is the two "unknown" black pucks on the rear roof too.  Those will add to the overall height as well.

Thank you  I'm really happy I got it. I wanted Lithium Grey but not an option for 22.

I would go with the Kodiak (kind of copper/brown metallic) from 2017 if it was still available too, but with the chrome package then.  Had a 20147 RR with the chrome, and kind of miss that color.  Current truck is black.

  12. My dealer accepted x plan with zero issues.  They are a smaller local dealer whom I have purchased many cars from as well as referred many friends there as well.  Maybe that makes a difference, but they were more than happy to help me with my order.  Now if the truck ever shows up is another question....
