  1. Since my truck came with the 5th truck figure I might as well have the balls for a gooseneck in case I was ever in n the need to pull one, not to mention I got a screaming deal at $225 for a brand new Ford kit. Where is everyone storing them? I bought the 37k set just in case I needed the larger ball definitely not needing the capacity. Mine came in the plastic box with the foam cutouts so it will stay organized and not rattle around BUT it will not fit in the under seat rear storage due the the design of the ‘22. Really didn’t want this in the bed sliding around even though it would be secure under my Retrax bedcover.

I don't know which option list you're referring to, or who told you, but the Roof Clearance Lights (592) have been included in every Super Duty Order Guide since... forever. And I can't remember a time when there was ever a notice from Ford that they weren't available. If you relied on specifications at the Ford.com site, there often are times when the option list is not accurate or complete.

So can someone verify a rough order of magnitude cost to add these after the fact? Also does Ford have an actual procedure or is it left the the dealers to butcher as they see fit ? I wish I had them but as always would be concerned about adding after the fact.

Sell the truck and buy a car?

Can't see how one can completely eliminate dust and water back there.  It will get past any tailgate seal as well.

Wow this is phenomenal advice. Thanks for taking time to respond with such a useful suggestion to seek the truck and buy a car.

i understand that nothing will completely prevent dust and water but it is about minimizing points of entry.

  4. My dealer recommended using a non-Ford extended warranty citing that Ford’s coverage was less comprehensive and that they, Ford, were denying more claims. Strange thing is when I had the dealership quote an extended warranty they quoted Ford premium care but when I actually bought the truck they snuck in EG Assurance at a premium price. When I called them out on it they gave me the above explanation.

anyone have any experience with this EG Assurance ? Good/bad/indifferent? I can and will have the dealer change me if needed as. Want the most comprehensive 8 year 150k mile warranty for my new platinum

  5. Looking for ideas to seal up around the punched bed holes for the 5wp. I will be installing a retrax cover so I want to attempt to seal up avenues for dust/dirt/water etc to enter the bed and these oversized punched holes are prime candidates. I will also be installing a spray liner as well after the holes are sealed. I am thinking about a urethane caulking which should allow the bed liner to adhere. Ideas and suggestions needed. Thank you

  6. I hit the lottery and solved MY multi-contour seat issue.

I cancelled my dream truck order as I personally am very challenged to accept something that is sub-par to the base trim level that I ordered(a platinum). What I was fortunate enough to do was find a Platinum that was on a lot that had all the platinum base equipment plus several of the options that I was dead set on. Now it’s not my first choice of color or interior but it is a complete Platinum.  so thanks to someone double ordering to see which order came in first and cancelling to other I picked up a truck so that I am not without all summer or potentially into next year. All in all I don’t agree with ordering multiple trucks from multiple dealers to double down on your chances of getting a build sooner but thankfully someone did and it worked out for me.

best of luck to everyone else waiting on a build date, build or delivery I hope you get yours expeditiously and that Ford builds ALL THAT THEY ACCEPTED orders on(my crystal ball and I have an opinion on this but we all know what opinions are good for)

as ingenious and resourceful as this community is I feel confident that someone will come up with a way to add MC functionality after the fact IF the actual bladders are installed and the missing component is limited to only a module(which I don’t think anyone can confirm and it’s only speculation). Big question will then be the cost which will most likely be far more than the credit if $300.

fwiw one very important option missing on my new truck is the power deployed running boards. They can be added after the fact with some significant work(for the oem boards) at a significant cost (around $2500 parts only). The stock tremor boards are no where near comparable in cost even though at the time of ordering it is a no cost swap.

Bottom line is focus the effort on finding a retrofit solution as this group can do it as it is just a matter of how much time, effort and $$$ you want to invest. Yes I am very unhappy, yes I am very disappointed but nothing we can do about it unfortunately it is a crap sandwich and if you want a truck this year your gonna have to eat it or find one that someone has cancelled

I will not stir the pot anymore?

Good grief get over it already.

I will probably get banned but ..

if I had to guess you’re a Ford employee and I am sure you’re tired of seeing your employer getting bashed but.. “Good Grief get over it!!” People are tired of Ford, or any other corporations for that matter, using the Covid card. There is sufficient real information for those who seek it about Ford and others, pressing the pause button on chip and commodity suppliers when Covid hit and once that train is stopped it’s hard at best to restart it as supply gets diverted. I get it I personally would have assessed cash flow and kept the chips/commodities  coming as I know I would use them eventually when the dust settles but I am not a multi-billion dollar corporation. I guarantee that Ford is trying their best to recover but they have also done damage assessment to the 2023 line and how best to mitigate further impact and damage there. This would mean they have seen the end of the line for 22MY and have already had their commodity suppliers geared up and released on 23MY parts so that they can be more efficient when the order banks open and can look really smart(which honestly at the point they at now is the smart thing to do even though in the process the consumer is getting force fed a crap sandwich).

all in all it is a simple ROI evaluation and it is easier to crap on the few remaking 22MY customers rather than crapping on the upcoming 23 on slaughter.

in the end let us vent

Been a silent observer in here since i ordered my f350 KRU LB 1/26. Dealer wasn't proactive, but thanks to these threads, I was well informed. After confirming that the fancy seats are being pulled, I decided to bail last night. I did a quick national search last night, and couldn't believe it, I found the near exact spec'd truck that I ordered in another state, down to the color...closed the online paperwork today and flying out to get Friday. Kind-of crazy, went from wondering if I really wanted to wait months for the 1/2 spec'd truck I wanted to knowing I'm getting nearly exactly what I wanted. I did lose x-plan, but this dealer is near MSRP...given the direction of rates and possible depreciation of my current vehicle, seems worth to me. Next step is to get the 1st dealer to cancel order...officially with Ford. Again, saw how to do that on this thread...probably more of a gesture, but maybe it can free up some commodities for all of you that have been waiting longer than me.
King Ranch Ultimate, 6.7, snow prep, 397 alt. Adaptive cruise, heated rear seats, clearance lights. Rapid red. Dealer is getting x-line before Friday.

Someone want to tell me how to do a national search please ?

Seriously, throwing a fit because you can’t get a butt massager?  Sounds like a first-world problem to me.  The only items GM is retrofitting are heated rear seats, heated steering wheels, and parking assist features (all of which are available on a Ford).  They don’t even offer massaging seats in the HD trucks at GM.  What about all the features that GM eliminated and won’t be retrofitting?  Cylinder cutoff, auto start/stop (good riddance), HD radio, wireless charging pads, and more.  My brother has had his 3500 HD Denali Crew Cab on order since November and hasn’t received a build date yet.  It isn’t a Ford issue, it is an all manufacturer issue.  Maybe you could try Toyota and see if they have butt massagers?

Not gonna reduce myself to the level of referencing butt massagers butt maybe you might be able to understand about principal. Order something get a confirmed order then arbitrarily be told you have to settle for something else is not throwing a fit about a butt massager or lumbar support or active steering or the list goes on. When does it stop only when Ford says it does

I wanted the multi-contour seats but not the moonroof.  But I had to get the Ultimate package on my KRU to get those seats, and, therefore, the moonroof.

Now, apparently, I can't have those seats.  So now I don't want the moonroof either.  But I have a VIN.  So I suppose I can't delete that moonroof?

It's pretty frustrating and it doesn't tend to make you consider other manufacturers.  Even if only to see if they really are as limited as Ford.

My big things is it is never ending. First it was active steering, BAP, 5wp, bed liner etc. I wasn’t worried about the bed liner or 5wp or even BAP as I could add those for comparatively the same cost after the fact. I wasn’t happy about the active steering as I really wanted it as it worked great on my ‘19 KRU. I was upgrading to a platinum so I could get a few other things I wanted. In the end, or rather right now as I am not built, I am being forced to settle for no active steering, no multi contour seats, no lumbar, some missing sensor within the 6.7 diesel system so my frustration is that it never ends and the excuse is the same.

In the end I have no one to blame but myself as I should have kept my ‘19 KRU in lieu of thinking I could upgrade to the exact truck I wanted. Now I will eventually get a truck but it will not be the truck I wanted or ordered. Many will say then wait and order a ‘23 but I can’t be without a truck for 18 months. It just aggravates me to no end that Ford took my money and my order and now isn’t going to honor it. Such is life I guess.

Ford is telling the truth they want to build the trucks and get them into consumers hands in some configuration as this is revenue as someone will buy them. The very last thing Ford wants is to have to cancel orders and fade the heat for that. Also the quicker they get the 22MY closed out the quicker they can start the whole process again for 23my

  11. So “Thank You Ford May I Please have Another ? ”  no is the answer as a life long loyal customer I am gonna memorialize my sub-par half a$$ Platinum, if I ever get it, as my LAST Ford product if Ford doesn’t step up and make this right to give us the trucks we ordered and have been waiting months for.

Don’t tell me GM can do it but Ford can’t. It is a matter of want to and $$$

Does anyone know exactly what the "Constraints" are currently?

Any concrete info when the MY2023 Order Bank Opens?

I may need to cancel my MY 2022 Platinum to get the Truck I originally ordered back in October 2021

Totally unacceptable to now accept only a pintance of $300 price reduction on the Multi-Contour Action Motion Seats along with other constraints

Well I am definitely not getting in line for another F’ing from Ford after this round. I will take my chances with another manufacturer. At least GM has said that for the options they are deleting they will retrofit at their expense when the parts become available in lieu of we are sorry but not my fault.

  13. Here is the acknowledgment and IF I am reading it correctly it also means NO lumbar support so it’s more than just the massage feature.
