It’s most definitely just gloss black. I’ve ordered the side emblems and almost ordered the grille but held off until I decide if I like the sport grille or want it black. The part description calls it out as either chrome or gloss black.

Here is the grille part number for reference: LC3Z8200-HA

Good deal. I have the BAP but I'm going to have some color introduced into some pieces along with black but want to have them here when truck arrives and just sell what comes on the truck. Thanks.

  2. I know on the online builder is calls the BAP pieces Ebony Black. Can anyone with the BAP tell me if your pieces (grill, mirror caps, etc) are really an Agate or more of a gloss. I've read some conflicting post where some stated it was gloss and others Agate. I'm planning on having a few done when truck arrives so trying to get that color nailed down. Thanks.

It’s been very helpful to show my girlfriend other examples of guy’s spending thousands of dollars to upgrade brand new trucks (some that haven’t even arrived yet).  It bolsters my argument this is “normal “ behavior!

?? I'm pretty sure my wife is tired of me showing her what I plan to do, what I'm buying or what y'all have done that's would look good.

What floor mats does everyone recommend? I have weathertechs in my suburban and am not impressed.

I have had the WeatherTech floor liners in my current truck for 8 or so years. Never had an issue out of them. One did get folded up in the door somehow and wouldn't flatten back out, contacted them and they shipped me out a replacement. It seems people either have a great experience with them or a terrible one. Thinking about giving their new line a try for my new truck or giving the Huskys a try. Seems other have good things to say about them.

  5. More expensive apperance parts. I'm about positive I'm going to have my mirror caps, fender badges, ovals and grill color matched with black accents thrown in. The caps will definitely be carbonized, fender badges and ovals will be a mix of carbonzied and black, as well as the grill. I will be swapping out the Lariat grill for a Platinum one (like the look of it better and have some plans for it). Havent decided if Im going to wait on the truck and have my parts painted or just buy some and have them done then just sell my BAP pieces upon arrival. Question is do you guys think I should go with a gloss black or the Agate Black? Some pics provided of how I plan on the pieces looking for the most part, outter edge of the oval will stay black.

  6. Does anyone happen to have a chart or link to where I can find paint codes? I'm wanting to have a few things painted and do some color matching once my truck arrives but not having the best of luck. I could just be missing something right in front of my face.

I believe Carbonzied Gray is M7 and Agate Black is UM, someone correct me if I'm wrong please. Also does anyone know which black is used on the BAP grill, mirror caps, etc? I know on the online builder it callas it Ebony Black but is that just gloss black or more of the Agate?

    Thanks!

Sounds like you handled that appropriately and I appreciate that. I also know most people are responsible and reasonable and do similarly as you did. I did have a traffic stop once and made a passenger side approach. The driver had a console mounted holster and about the time I noticed it he quickly grabbed the pistol to place it in the glove box. Yes, my anxiety level bumped up a notch!

My thought and preference is, if you are not a threat to the officer, then the officer does not need to know you are carrying. It’s just one more thing for the officer to have to deal with or be concerned with. That changes of course if the officer asks you to do something that would potentially reveal your weapon. At that time you could say something like what you did above and let the officer direct you from there. I guess my point is all of those options go out the window if you are carrying any other way than on-body, concealed.

I can understand why folks carry this way but I won’t do it myself.  Too many pro’s for concealed carry and I only see potential problems with any kind of off-body.  Just my two cents and to each his own.

I guarantee it did. There are diffinately pros and cons to every situation and no one can ever be 100% correct in the way they approach something. All we can do is try to do what we think is best for us or give us the biggest advantage and practice those situations.

I'm not a fan of off body carry.  Also not a fan of required informed to LEO, there have been issues with that too.

I posted earlier, watching people struggle with conceal carry in a vehicle during a training exercise was somewhat hilarious the gymnastics people had to do to get to their firearm.  But it was also very sad, they had never tried to do it before.  Even quickly unbuckling your seatbelt requires a technique that most have never seen before.

You are 100% correct in most have never practiced being in that situation. Most believe that once they have their firearm that's all there is to it. I carry appendix and have run through drawing buckled in, in different clothing, and dismounting from the vehicle and have found what works best for me. Just like I don't agree with open carrying but if that's what you want to do and have it properly secured then go for it.

    Thanks for sharing.

So does the holster just basically use belt clip(s) to clip into it? Or is it a holster made specifically for this mount?

The holster pictured is just a cheap $20 holster. Modified a bit as you can see by the cut I had to put in top of the mount and the spacers, along with having to shave the belt clip down a bit. So its not prettiest thing but it works for now. The current set up I have utilizes the belt clip that comes with the holster and clips into it as it would to your belt, so you have full retention when drawing out of it. The new one offers different clips you can choose from based off of your holster type. So you change the belt clip that comes on your holster with one. Couple examples pictured. It then slides into a slot on top of the mount which has a release you can see if that picture from earlier. This will let me flush mount it instead of having to put spacers behind it like I had to do to my current one for the clip to clear. These mounts can be mounted almost anywhere.... side of nightstand, under desk, etc. They also have a belt attachment to transition to on body carry.

Well Gharri30 it appears we now have an appropriate thread to continue our earlier conversation.  I wanted to ask you how you deal with a traffic stop with this set-up, assuming of course that you have had one?

I have encountered one stop. When they approached I already had everything in my hand resting on the door, along with my wifes permit. When he got to me I told him we both had carry permits that were in my hand and that my firearm was holstered next to my leg and hers was on her. He checked out the permits and said appreciate you letting me know up front because most don't until he runs them and that was that.

  9. Posted something similar to this in a different thread. My current truck has a bit of a make shift mount that I modified a little bit. Has worked well for 8 years. When my super duty arrives I have a new product to use. Cleaner mount that will only require two holes. First picture is what I started with, progressing through what I had to do to get it to work. Last pic is this mounting system I'll be changing over to. This holster just stays with my truck and I transition my pistol from my on body holster to the truck holster.

Found me some BAP wheels and tires locally! Love the look of these things. It also saved me a bunch of money from not buying an aftermarket setup.

Good to hear you found something you wanted locally. My 250 with BAP got scheduled the other week, ?, so I'll still have some BAP stuff from mine to offload.

Dammit, more money spent on the rig. It’s  like getting the nursery together before the baby arrives! Just purchased the BAKflip G2 tonneau cover. I think that’s all… ?

Ohh what's that..... you need some more new ideas? We gotcha!!

Ok that was hilarious and made my morning. I immediately sent it to my girlfriend and she now wants them for “her side.”

And thanks for getting back to me Gharri30 on the off-topic thing. Would like to talk further but would have to be its own thread I suppose.

I took the screenshot from a video. They actually had yhem wired in and working. ?

Anytime, just let me know. Always down to get others insights and info.

Hello Gharri30, I am hoping to hear your thoughts on this and maybe others as well. I’m a huge advocate for personal protection and concealed carry. I’m generally not such a fan of off-body carry, which this is, for many reasons. So how does this set up work for you?  Do you transition to a concealed carry holster when you get out of the truck or does the pistol stay in the truck? And vise versa, do you have to un-holster every time you go to get in your truck?  Wouldn’t it be better to just carry concealed and always be armed?  Please don’t take offense at my questions, I genuinely want to know the thought process here. Also sorry if this was a hijack of the thread.

Good questions and no offense taken. This holster is just a cheap $20 holster that I got to specifically stay in my truck. I usually just transition my firearm itself from my concealed holster to this one in the truck. This allows me not to have to worry about clearing my clothing or seat belt when driving. It's easy for me to slide my hand by my leg and not as noticeable as reaching for my belt line. Then when I get where I'm going and parked, release the seat belt and just transition my pistol from the truck holster to my on body holster before I ever get out. I understand everyone is different and may not work for everyone and others may not agree with it. After testing drawing off body and out of truck holster while buckled in, this just worked best for me and I felt was my best bet in a situation that would require me to do so.

@787Toolman for me, I just try to see the positive side to the delays. I don’t need the rig by any specific time, so I just go with the flow… and continue to find more and more ways to spend money on her! ? @JT42 @tcritch3 and @Gharri30 are all bad influences. Between those three alone, I’ve probably already spent close to a grand, and now I’m going to order mud flaps ??‍♂️  ?

But I digress. Now that I’m in production, I at least know that the wheels of progress are turning. Before I canceled my first order I placed in November and placed the new one in February I wasn’t confident I was ever going to see a new rig. So as they say, laughter is the best medicine

Bad influences..... possibly. Good intentions..... definitely. ? Wife keeps telling me I have expensive taste.

I have been looking around for something like this as well. Thanks for sharing the location piece, ill have to scope one out, and the right spot in the truck.

This new one takes a separate clip that attaches to the holster as well. Have different ones depending on your holster. So this setup isn't as cheap as my original one but it's a lot cleaner and sturdier. Its a fairly new product that is made by NeoMag.

  16. Aww man I almost forgot about the most important accessory to add for me personally. For my fellow gun owners.... this hardmount will go into the new ride. I have a makeshift plastic mount that I had to modify to make work and have been running about 8 years in my current truck. It's not pretty but gets the job done. This placement works well for me because it's hidden behind my leg when looking in, easily accessible by just reaching down and allows me to draw out of the holster without worrying if Im going to pull the holster with it, like it would if I was just to clip it onto the side pocket of the console. So this mount will be a welcome addition to the Super Duty. Pics suck but only ones I ever took of it.

Weather tech Mud Flaps install in about 1 hour was drinking a beer or two. Fitment is really good, to me they look like they belong on the truck. Happy with the way the turned out.

Next up Rigid SR SAE Compliant 30"light bar and front bumper mount, and a set of Rigid tail lights. Going to try to wire both to respective circuits (high beam/reverse) and also as independent via upfitters. Be awhile for some of the parts though.

Been trying to decide if I want to try and throw some mud flaps at mine when it arrives. Not sure if they'll just be in the way of a 4" lift with 37x13.5s though. Those look good though. Blend nicely.

  18. Got double scheduled this morning. Original order went in on 12/27, 250 CCSB 7.3 Lariat Ultimate FX4 with BAP and UTT. Was going to drop BAP and add SAP/LEDs a few weeks back but didn't want to lose my pricing incase it actually got picked up. So had another order with those options instead put in two weeks ago and received 2 emails this morning 20 mins apart that both have been scheduled.
