  1. How could they sign up over a month ago? They just started in July, didn't they? And if they just signed union cards doesn't that mean they were nonunion? And aren't some of them still nonunion since they are in right to work states? So they aren't all union are they? You're such a piece of crap. Talk about twisting stuff around you take the prize. At least the Donovans are trying to keep us informed about whats going on which is more than the union has been doing. Just stick to staying in your office doing nothing since you obviously know nothing. What a poser but I guess that fits since your just a P.O.S.
  2. This is all so stupid. I just know that if my job is on the line who I want fighting for me! I want Spring! I know that she won't back down and she'll really do a good job. I talk to the people in her area everyday and they say she does a great job. I know she'll do a great job as a commiteewoman. She will be a whole lot better than what we've got now.
  3. What about the filthy bathrooms? Bathrooms with no toilet paper? Filthy canteens? What's going on with the cafeteria? I heard they are leaving soon and when is the new one coming in? We don't get told anything about that. I have to hear things from the cafeteria workers themselves. Why isn't anyone talking about that? This is all getting out of hand. And no one is doing anything about it but they want you to vote for them? Yeah right.
  4. Why would you admit you have a sugar daddy on here?
  5. jbores you are two faced! I can't believe a former salary person is going to try to tell all of us hourly folks how to be union! You are such a joke! You're only union when you want something from the union. As for the Lorain ticket lets call it what it really is. Why do I know this? Because Robert has been going to all of us that came from Lorain and telling us how we need to stick together and take the union here over from the Avon Lake people. And that is what he's been telling us! Then he tells the Avon Lake people how we need change. He doesn't want to bring us together or heal this union he wants to keep us fighting each other so he can divide the vote. Just look at who's running with him. As for Tom Rowe and Pete Kitts, my boyfriend got transferred from Avon to Lorain and Tom told him he didn't deserve his representation and Pete just flat out wouldn't help him and he doesn't deny it! Tom Rowe was good to us if we were from Lorain but he should have represented everyone! Since coming to Avon Lake I have had Bill Samples as my rep, a certain rep who isn't here any longer but someone seems to freak out when you mention his name, Mike Donovan, Jimmy Hall and Bruce Yates. jbores talks about cutting hogs and whatnot and she seems to have her reps screwed up. Mike D. and Jimmy H. were the only ones that ever seemed to get back with us. Billy S. always spouted off about the company having the right, the other rep that was fired doesn't matter anymore and Yates doesn't tell you the same thing twice or he's going into a meeting and will get back to you or whatever or just doesn't come around. I'm just sick of all the lies and us people on the line are always the losers and caught in the middle. I want a rep that cares and shows they care and can really do the job instead of always blaming somebody else about why they can't get something done! No more lies and no more excuses!
  6. I'm starting to see the same thing. I don't know too much about the politics with the OHAP folks but I can tell you about the 425 politics. Look at what happened to us! WE CLOSED! That should tell you pretty much all you need to know! Ask some of the people that were forced over to 425 how they were treated! Ask them what Tom Rowe said to them! Ask them about Pete Kitts. I couldn't believe some of what I saw and I was always at 425! Don't make the same mistake we made! Sandusky is gone. Lorain is gone. Brookpark isn't looking too good. Robert was health and safety. He didn't do anything with the contract! Just like I'm asking original OHAP people about the people running, OHAP people need to ask about the 425 people running!
  7. Mary we've been reading these boards and going to the websites. Your dad was real good about giving us copies of the stuff we asked for. We know who's telling the truth and who isn't (jbores and veteran). Don't worry. We know they're just afraid to have to go back to the line in June. The people who are in there right now must think we're all really stupid and will fall for anything and everything. jbores isn't going to influence anyone from 425. We worked with her there. We know. A lot of of us really appreciate everything you've been doing for us. We know who is looking out for us and who's just looking out for themselves.
  8. jbores used to be in management in Lorain. I think she was in engineering or something like that. I remember her from over there.
  9. Spring is totally right! Seniority is all we have! And the company is walking all over it an no one in the union seems to be doing anything about it. I can't believe Irish Dad would argue against seniority! But after coming over from Lorain I've seen what seniority means over here - nothing! It's all who you know and the good ole boy system. There have been very few reps here that will actually stand up for seniority. I know from personal experience that I can't even talk to Bruce Yates because he can't tell me the same thing twice. I get a different story every time and he's always blaming someone else for what happens. I don't care where you came from or who you know, the bottom line should always be seniority and that is not what is happening. This is a very serious issue for the people on the line. Irish Dad, I don't think you're actually on the line because if you were you wouldn't be saying stuff like that. We've got the company adding work to jobs even after the 120 day clock and no one does anything. We've got people being passed up on job bids and no one does anything. We've got people being assigned jobs and no one in the company or the union cares about seniority. These are things that are affecting workers on the line and the only ones who would argue against it must be company or they've used the buddy system to get something for themself. And you definitely don't work in Trim so you don't know!
  10. I agree about candidates telling everyone a different story. You're not going to get a debate in the traditional sense I guess. I kind of like Mr. Donovan and Tim running together. It shows that they want to unite the hourly people as far as I'm concerned. I really don't want this election to be Lorain vs Avon Lake. That's old news. We the people need to decide what the important issues are and put them up here and look for the candidates answers. My issues are job security, fairness in job bids, problems with certain people in management (not sure if they can do anything about that), a good local contract and making the company follow the rules (contract) which they certainly aren't doing now. I also look for answers from the candidates for President, Chairman and BC. Those are the people who will directly affect things.
  11. That was a really nice steak fry. It was great to see so many former 425 people there with 2000 people. I had a great time. Got to meet some new people and just had a really good time. I found out that Tim Rowe is running with Jerry. I also saw Pete. Haven't seen him in a while. He said he's running too. I couldn't believe how many people were there. I talked to the girls at the door and they said they sold out and then some.... maybe the tide is turning in favor of the people on the line.
  12. Thanks, Mary! Great job. I was there but I like to read your notes afterwards. There's a lot of us that really appreciate what you're doing.
  13. I don't know a whole lot about how all this works but shouldn't we have asked for the strike vote BEFORE we started negotiations? Wouldn't you be better off being able to sit down at the table with that threat in your back pocket?
  14. Spring, I'm another one who wants to thank you for the information. A lot of us that came over from Lorain weren't getting a whole lot of information from anyone except you. The notes really help out too. Some of us are single parents and have commitments to our kids on the weekend and just can't make the union meeting from time to time so it's nice to be able to keep up with what is going on. Also since they're being written up, it's easier to refer back to them. I think they're a great tool for the people on the floor. If anyone has a problem with you putting them up here you should just ignore them. I still don't understand how someone can have a problem with someone just wanting to help people out.
