  1. Stone Cold would be correct...Webmaster Dave of SLAP terminated the site. You can always join in on LAP's forum...the more the merrier. http://scottrlap.proboards75.com/index.cgi
  2. no one has yet to discuss the details of the COA at MTP. Does anyone have a clue what's going on at MTP? Why did someone at LAP have a copy of MTP's agreement, but yet no one from MTP on here has a clue what's going on? MTPers need to be asking questions right now.
  3. We're hearing that the next generation Explorer will be built on a Volvo platform, unibody, and that it will be built at Chicago. As of right now, we have no future vehicle at LAP beyond 2009 CY. And the Wizard also hit on this a while back. It isn't looking good for MTP or LAP IMHO.
  4. Can anyone provide a summary of the agreement? I actually saw a printout, but wasn't able to read it. Attempting to get a copy for myself.
  5. Ditto to what Calvin posted...4-10s at LAP, straight time, no OT.
  6. I, for one, strongly believe that LAP is in the mix, but why not St. Thomas??? Do they even have a vehicle after the Town Car and Crown Vic cease to exist? Aren't they both going to end production?
  7. No such thing as a F100...one shift in 2008, closure in 2009. The Wizard said so, prepare for 2009. :titanic:
  8. We've been hearing that they will actually be sped up here at LAP. The Way Forward Plan will be accelerated, including buyouts and transfers.
  9. Ford still has over $20 billion in cash.
  10. Don't look at it as if you're hurting people; you're doing a good deed by giving as much advance notice as possible so people can be prepared. I believe your prediction is more than likely exact. We've been told that we have no product for 2009; we've heard that the Explorer will be replaced by a new vehicle which will no longer be called an Explorer. Only problem I have with the whole situation...why get rid of another history making nameplate? I don't see why Ford keeps doing this. Getting rid of the Escort, Taurus, Thunderbird, Cougar, and now possibly the Explorer doesn't seem to make much sense to me. What has Ford done lately that makes sense?
  11. http://scottrlap.proboards75.com/index.cgi Webmaster Dave of St. Louis moderated a forum (http://members.sitegadgets.com/SLAPLANT/board.html) for all of his co-workers at SLAP. I met him via the internet and quickly realized what a valuable tool a similar forum could be for the over 9000 workers at LAP and KTP. Are they an others out there? If not, I would strongly recommend doing so for a better means of communication. I can never thank Webmaster Dave enough for convincing me to do one of our own. Pay us a visit, no need to register, you can post as a guest, or simply read our everyday ramblings. We are currently accepting transfers from Atlanta, as well as 5 additional down weeks scheduled between now and the end of the year.
  12. The Edge will kill the Explorer the same way the Freestyle did. Oh that's right, it didn't. We were told that the Freestyle would take 25% of the Explorer sales, now we're hearing the same for the Edge. I don't believe it one bit. It could take 5% or possibly 10%, but there will always be a market for the truck based SUV. How much pulling can that Edge do? Not many people buy Explorers to pull, but at least it's an option.
  13. I seem to remember someone from DTP stating that they were already tooling for the next generation Ranger? Is there any truth to that? If so, what is the model code...ex: U251 Explorer/Mountaineer, P251 Sport Trac. Thanks!
  14. Is MTP on one or two shifts? I was told that you guys have been on one shift for quite some time; any truth to this? Thanks!
  15. Add yet another strange piece to this ever changing puzzle. LMAO Looks like someone's plans got shot to hell. Our mayor is a fucking joke!
  16. Considering that the 2007 Explorer is still a couple of months away from being assembled, it will be a while. Model change happens during September.
  17. Who knows? All I do know is our mayor is going to be in Atlanta on June 22nd, greeting AAP workers. How weird is that? AAP Human Resources sent this notification to ALL USERS at AAP.
  18. Supposedly, on Thursday, June 22nd, Greater Louisville Inc. will be at the Atlanta Assembly Plant on the mezzanine to meet and greet Atlanta employees that have an interest in accepting a transfer with the company and moving to Louisville, KY. Among the visitors will be Mayor Jerry Abramson, Mayor of Louisville. This letter was sent by AAP Human Resources. It's getting real people. Ford has some major changes up their sleeve, and they're doing their best to keep it on the down low.

  20. August and September is still when you get your best deals on model year end clearances. I would hold out until then if you really want a great deal. Truck month always falls around Sept./Oct.
  21. Our union meeting was today...building chairman stated that a line speed reduction is in the works for LAP. More than likely in the 50's...we're currently running 76-78 off the end of chassis. If it goes to the 50's, we'll lose about 500 workers. Not looking good.
  22. Cal would be right...we're slated for a new paint department to be completed by the launch of the 2009 or 2010 Explorer. LAP is here for a little while longer. Even if buyouts happen now for a line speed reduction, I still see some offers being made to make room for AAP workers. At least...I hope there are.
  23. Louisville Assembly Plant is hearing that the line speed will be reduced and buyouts will be offered instead of hundreds being inserted into the GEN pool. Announcement is expected soon. Also hearing of an additional down week, three weeks of shutdown in July. Stay tuned.
  24. Rumor going around at Louisville Assembly that buyouts will be offered to make room for Atlanta workers later this year. Any word of this at Atlanta?
