Hi everyone, I’m looking for some guidance on an issue with my 2018 Lincoln Navigator, now out of warranty, with about 85k miles. Running Boards Issue For the last few months, the power running boards have been inconsistent: They always extend normally when opening the doors. The issue was mostly with retracting after driving. While driving, the boards would retract as expected. Recently, after a dealer oil change, the vehicle was dropped off and the running boards stopped opening altogether. The dealer later mentioned that they are now seeing codes indicating the boards are “partially opened.” Battery Saver Mode / Lincoln App Issue (Possibly Related) This may or may not be related, but I want to include it for context. For over a year, the Lincoln app on iPhone has consistently shown: “Battery Saver Mode” “Remote features disabled to preserve battery” Because of this: Remote start doesn’t work Can’t unlock remotely Can’t see vehicle location Every time the car was at the dealership: They said they couldn’t identify an issue Battery tested “fine” Even so, the battery was about 4 years old, so I replaced it proactively with an H8 (49) AGM battery (specs). Unfortunately, this did not resolve the Battery Saver Mode or app issues. Additional things I’ve already tried: Driving longer distances to ensure proper charging Resetting and reinstalling the Lincoln app Re-pairing phones Trying different phones altogether No change. Questions Since the car is out of warranty and the dealer has a 2–4 week wait (plus diagnostic fees), I’d like to get more informed before going back. The dealer confirmed the battery reads correctly and shows no faults, but said there are running board codes stored. Is there a way for me to see the same codes myself? I believe I have an ANCEL AD310 scanner—would that be sufficient, or is something more advanced required? What scanner would make sense for an owner to invest in (without going crazy on cost) since we love the car and are planning to keep it? Where can I find Lincoln/Ford service documentation with step-by-step diagnostics and service procedures (similar to what the dealer uses)? Not only related to this issue but other services as well. Is it recommended to lubricate the running boards or their mechanisms, and if so, what areas and products are best? How difficult is running board motor replacement on these vehicles? The dealer speculted over the phone that most likely the motors will have to be replaced, but didn’t elaborate. Could this issue be related to the Battery Saver Mode or a deeper electrical / module sleep issue? Any known causes or recommendations? Any insight, experience, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I've got the service manual from Haynes and have also scoured the entire internet at this point. The section referring to the blower motor does not match what I am seeing wen I contort my body enough to look under the passenger side dash after removing the lower kick panel. Anybody know how to change the resistor? For about a month the front ac would only blow after a swift kick to that area. Now it won't blow at all no matter what I try. I'm thinking since the resistor only comes into play on low or medium that maybe my whole blower motor is gone but I already bought the resistor so maybe want to try that firstm

I love the new 2018 Navigator. Wanted to order a Black Label L with second-row bench seating. This is not an option for Black Label. If a customer wants the Black Label and more seating or has dogs to put in the back, bench seating is a must! I have seen other people mention this in the Navigator forums. It seems like it would be an easy configuration to offer. Thanks

I'd love to see the new Bronco platform being repurposed by Lincoln to carry an actual 4x4 competitor to the smaller, upscale Land Rover. Any chance of this happening?

According to bank of America's "car wars", the aviator will be revived, navigator redesigned, and a mka (coupe) and mkm (sedan) introduced between now and 2017.
