igor
Isn't that Rocam engine some 30 year old piece of junk?? 30years old? NO .. it is a version of the 1.6l Sigma Zetec still used in the EU Fiesta (and other EU Cars). That basic engine (Sigma Zetec) was developed about 10 years ago, but still meets most of the competition. Piece of Junk? Well depends how you look at it .. The ROCAM is unrefined, SOHC, and thirsty - so yes it is a "Piece of junk" - but it is extremely low cost, very low maintenance, and one of few small I4's capable of running on E100 - so it is a great engine for Brazil and for those looking for a dependable basic engine .. Overall - I will not knock the ROCAM - it is a good engine for itsp urpose - but in US a refined DOHC engine is needed at least as an option.
