theoldwizard
From Ford plant to cut shift With almost seven months supply of its products waiting to be sold, the Ford Chicago Assembly plant tentatively is scheduled to reduce production to one shift as of July 21. Jim Hossack, consultant with Tustin, Calif.-based AutoPacific Group, a source for industry analysis and automotive research, said ideally there should be a 50 to 60 day supply of vehicles in the system. "Over 100 is a high number," he said. "One hundred and fifty is very high, and over 200 means you're in deep difficulty."
