ZanatWork
I can't make the NY Auto Show this week, but I gotta say: if Ford's display is as lame as the Chicago show, I'm glad to give it a miss. This would be a great opportunity to show that SVT isn't dead, to showcase the hydraulic hybrid technology, to show a hint of the small car program(s), to display the freshened faces of the D3 cars, to announce the production of the Lincoln Continental (I know that's a reach, but it's also a devout wish)...in short, to downplay all the doom-and-gloom of the domestic media and show a carmaker poised to redefine its place in the domestic market. I'm not getting that feeling, sadly. I know a good amount about vehicles coming down the pike, and I'm confident about Ford's future. My concern is that not only is 2006 going to be difficult in terms of Ford's offerings, but not enough is being done to point out the promise of 2007 and beyond.
