Bowhunter82
I have a 2008 F-250 FX4. Stock 275 70 R18 tires. I want to know how big of a tire I can get without rubbing issues on the stock rims. Any help would really be appreciated.
Hydro
305/65/18 are my tire size and they were squeezed in there. They are considered 34", but remember i have after market wheels so they are wider than stock. No rubbing at all, but it kinda gave the truck a 2wd look because it filled out the friont fender so much. That's why I went with the 2 1/2" leveling kit. 35's with any wider offset wheel and probally stock wheels you'll rub. I am POSITIVE my tires will fit (BFG a/t 305/65/18), the only thing to watch is the width of the stock wheel. I think BFG has a sizing chart online, if not, tirerack.com definitely does. I don't think you'd have a problem unless you're airing down for sand, other than that, the bead should hold well. mach14604
I have an 08 F-250 Super Duty 4x4 no lift kit or leveling. I just put on a set of Toyo Open Country 285/75/R18. I will never look back. The difference in this tire from my stock Continentals is night and day. The stock tire is scare to drive on in the rain, snow or anything. Those tires should not be on that truck!!! The Open Country's translate to a 34.8 in Diameter. Toyo on the sticker says there are 35x11.50. They fit nicely and I have no tire rub what so ever. I paid $225 a tire. I have my Ford Dealer Mount them. Get these tires you will be happy you did. I did a lot of research on this matter and this was the best choice. mach14604
The tire will also fit on the stock rim. I have the 18's that came with the FX4 package stock. You can fit a 35x12.50 on it but it will not sit properly and you will get uneven wear.
Bowhunter82
Thanks for the help. I've heard that the Open Country MT's in the 285x75xR18 work great for those rims. I think I'm goin that route.... I can't stand the Continental's on there now.
